I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 91: Chapter 91: A Little Necromancy Shock for Shenxiao!

In the audience seats.

Li Yuanjing was somewhat astonished to see Lin Yi’s handsome face appear on the big screen of the arena!

How could it be so fast!

Isn’t it supposed to take a considerable amount of time for the first two matches of the ranking competition?

But remembering Lin Yi’s technique during the fifth round of the national college entrance examination, where he casually cast a Tier Seven ice and fire magic spell, he suddenly became less surprised...

After all, the opponents in the first two rounds were virtual monsters and professionals created by the Illusion Realm dungeon.

Lin Yi wanted to crush them; it was too easy.

The main thing is that after talking with Meng Yuanzhou, Lin Yi’s mindset has become less cautious.

Since the fact that he already mastered Tier Seven magic has been exposed, there’s no need to hold back anymore.

However, Meng Yuanzhou advised him to use moderation; to avoid using Tier Eight and Forbidden Curse spells unless necessary.

”Fellow students of Shenxiao Academy! Good morning, afternoon, and evening~!!”

”Welcome to Shenxiao Arena!”

”I’m your favorite host, Xue Liang!!”

A passionate voice echoed from the loudspeakers throughout Shenxiao Arena, and at the same time, the platform on which Lin Yi stood, moved rapidly to the center of the arena stage.

Having witnessed the mind-blowing technology of the Shenxiao mothership, Lin Yi had grown accustomed to such scenes.

”Perhaps it’s because our Academy’s most difficult and the most rare Descent Abyss Tier 0 dungeon in Xia is about to open!”

”Today, our Academy welcomes the first batch of powerful new students!”

”And among the outstanding ones is none other than this student, Lin Yi!”

”He broke the 176-year record of Shenxiao and is our academy’s fifth student to be admitted via special recruitment!”

”Additionally, in the recently concluded national college entrance examination, this student Lin Yi achieved an ultimate dark horse victory with a perfect score of one million in five rounds!!”

”This emerging star today broke records by clearing the first two rounds of the ranking competition at an unprecedented speed!!”

”In the final round of the ranking competition, he chose the highest-ranked opponent available to him——a C-level sophomore powerhouse from Chiyou Academy, Yu Jingcheng!!”

”Student Yu Jingcheng just won a rank-changing battle against student Wu Yang, raising his position by 79 places in the C-level rankings!”

”He is currently full of fighting spirit and on a winning streak!”

”Will our legendary new student Lin Yi, who just enrolled, complete an unprecedented three-match ranking showdown and directly advance to C-level!”

”Or will student Yu Jingcheng defeat this super rookie and claim all his new student resources and benefits, the answer is coming soon!!”

”Both parties please prepare for battle!!”

The host’s voice ignited the atmosphere of the entire venue.

It was the summer break, and most students of Shenxiao Academy had already gone home for vacation.

Some bookworms were out on field tasks.

But quite a few students remained on campus.

Even if they don’t participate in combat, watching others’ matches in the arena was also a fun thing to do.

No one expected today to be so special.

Witnessing a newly admitted student daring to challenge a sophomore with four transitions in battle!

Thump!

Thump!

Two dull footsteps sounded.

Lin Yi saw across the platform, an enormous man almost two meters tall, clad in armor, muscles knotted, resembling a berserker straight out of Nordic Mythology.

Yu Jingcheng inserted two giant axes into the hard platform floor, flashing a grin: ”What gives you the courage to challenge me?”

”Is it the title of national top scorer?”

”I was once second nationwide, and at Shenxiao, who here isn’t in the top ten?”

With Yu Jingcheng’s words.

The entire arena’s atmosphere was thoroughly ignited.

Lin Yi heard laughter from the audience seats.

These people weren’t particularly impressed by the titles of national top scorer or second nationwide.

They didn’t even care much.

Just as Yu Jingcheng said.

Anyone admitted to Shenxiao ranks among the top ten nationwide.

Top scorer, runner-up...

At Shenxiao, Xia’s top academy, they are a dime a dozen.

”Junior student, it’s too late to regret; I’ll gladly accept your new student resource package.”

Yu Jingcheng pulled the giant axe from the ground and pointed it at Lin Yi.

At the same time, a countdown appeared on the big screen.

Once the countdown ends, the battle will begin.

Regarding the rules of the new student resource package and rank challenge, Lin Yi had learned in the first two rounds of the ranking competition.

First, the new student resource package is the first and the only free benefit every new student entering Shenxiao receives.

It includes 5 unique dungeon entry scrolls, breakthrough magic crystals, attribute magic crystals, and other growth resources that require a C-level or higher rating to obtain.

Rank challenges for higher ranks offer no benefit to higher-ranked challengers; they risk loss by battling lower-ranked challengers.

Because they must bear the risk of failure.

Thus, Shenxiao stipulates that if a lower-ranked challenger succeeds, they accumulate a mandatory battle count upon reaching the higher rank.

As long as you have a mandatory battle count, you must accept challenges from lower-ranked challengers.

Yu Jingcheng had just defeated a long-studied rival in battle.

Successfully completing a rank change.

So he appeared on Lin Yi’s list of challengers.

Because he must accept the battle.

Correspondingly, Shenxiao also states that if a lower-ranked challenger fails, not only is the higher-ranked challenger’s mandatory battle count removed, but a portion of the daily resources allocated to the lower-ranked challenger is transferred to the higher-ranked challenger.

This way, both sides face risks, and the victor gains rewards.

Such a system allows the rating and rank challenge framework to continue to this day.

”3!”

”2!”

”1!”

”Battle start!!”

The countdown on the big screen hit zero.

The start bell echoed by the edge of the stage.

In the next moment, Yu Jingcheng, wielding two axes, jumped high, wielding a powerful downward slash towards Lin Yi’s position with a sky-crashing force.

Berserker skill: Powerful Slash of Hua Mountain!

Contrary to the belief that warriors are short-handed and heavy.

Yu Jingcheng’s speed was incredibly fast!

Actually, Lin Yi noticed earlier during his battle against that Knight.

As a heavily armored melee profession, he had many mobility skills.

Besides this air-leap slash, he also had skills like charge and berserk dash.

Warrior versus mage.

If a warrior gets close, the mage has almost no room to counter.

This was the common belief among the majority of the audience.

They initially thought Lin Yi, specially recruited by Shenxiao, might provide them a different experience.

But now it looked like his combat experience was too lacking!

This novice, familiar only with tests, surely couldn’t compare to a second-year student rich in combat experience, one who’s even walked the brink of life and death!

Then, just as everyone believed Lin Yi was about to be halved by the mighty slash.

Something unexpected happened.

Ding!

The sound of metal clashing resounded.

A gigantic serpent with scarlet eyes and a body covered in tough scales suddenly appeared before Lin Yi.

Though it was nearly cut in half by Yu Jingcheng’s slash, undead creatures feel no pain!

With the serpent’s flesh shielding him, Lin Yi was unscathed.

It’s time to give Shenxiao Academy a little necromancer shock!
