I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Thunder Element Point Allocation! The Most Unique Mechanism!

”All the dungeons in our academy are located in the Dungeon Sanctuary.”

”I was planning to take you there, but since you’re planning to try soloing the Sky Temple dungeon, I’ll take you to our academy’s library first.”

”I’ll help you get a library card and register an account. This way, if you have time, you can go there to look up strategy guides for all the dungeons currently available in our academy.”

”If you’re busy, you can also use the account to log into our academy’s internal forum to access the archives and library materials.”

Regarding Lin Yi’s decision to solo the Sky Temple dungeon.

Nangong Ling was not too surprised.

In fact, this is a very common phenomenon in Shenxiao.

After all, who isn’t a genius youth, soloing a level of a dungeon is done with ease.

However, Nangong Ling still suggested to Lin Yi to take a look at the dungeon strategy guide first.

Lin Yi also agreed with this.

Sharpening the axe will not delay the cutting of firewood, it’s better to know the situation in the dungeon beforehand than to slowly explore it later.

Besides, what he’s pursuing now is record-breaking speed runs, and looking at the strategy guide will only save him more time.

More than ten minutes later.

Lin Yi and Nangong Ling walked out of the Shenxiao library.

”Now you should be able to log into our academy’s forum, give it a try.”

Nangong Ling took out her phone; they had previously added each other as friends.

Now Nangong Ling sent Lin Yi a URL for the Shenxiao internal campus network, which Lin Yi opened, entering his name and the password he had just registered with.

He indeed logged in.

”If I remember correctly, the Sky Temple is on the first floor of the Dungeon Sanctuary, and with your current rating, you should be able to access the relevant strategy guides.”

Under Nangong Ling’s guidance, Lin Yi quickly familiarized himself with the various sections and index entries of the Shenxiao campus forum.

Under the strategy guide section, Lin Yi indeed saw the dungeon information for the first layer of the Dungeon Sanctuary - Sky Temple.

Upon clicking to enter, Lin Yi received a prompt that deducted 0 credits, and the relevant strategy guide was downloaded to his phone.

”Strategy guides also require credits to purchase.”

”However, as a benefit for freshmen, the first layer’s dungeon guides have had their credit cost reduced to 0 by our school, and for the second layer and beyond, checking strategy guides for related dungeons will require credits.”

”But the credits consumed aren’t much, basically within single digits, so don’t worry.”

As Nangong Ling led Lin Yi towards the Dungeon Sanctuary, she explained to him.

Lin Yi nodded, opened the Sky Temple dungeon strategy guide, and began reading.

”Sky Temple, surface dungeon, enterable level range: LV.45-60!”

”Dungeon map size: medium.”

”Number of dungeon bosses: 3”

”Number of normal dungeon monsters: 300+”

”Overall dungeon difficulty: medium.”

”Current best clear time for this dungeon:”

”In five-player team mode: 3 minutes 27 seconds 29!”

”In solo mode: 6 minutes 11 seconds 68!”

”Note! This dungeon has a special mechanic: Kernge’s Protection. If the final boss, the priestess Hera, is not defeated, all monsters in this dungeon have a high 75% magic damage reduction!”

”Additionally, most monsters in this dungeon are Mage-type monsters, and have extremely high magic resistance!”

”For teams relying on spell-based output, the difficulty of this dungeon escalates from medium to high.”

”It is recommended that the strategy team composition be primarily physical output.”

From the evaluation and introduction at the beginning of the strategy guide, Lin Yi was somewhat surprised.

Beside him, Nangong Ling also opened her account to view the Sky Temple strategy guide.

It’s been so long since she cleared this dungeon that seeing the strategy guide now only managed to awaken her ancient memories.

”Ah! I forgot there was this special mechanic!”

”Junior, how about choosing another dungeon?”

”This dungeon is highly challenging for spell-based professions. Breaking the 6-minute record is nearly impossible!”

Nangong Ling also recalled Lin Yi’s high-tier Necromancy Element skills showcased during the third battle of the rating tournament, yet for the monsters in this dungeon, with 75% magic damage reduction and high magic resistance, they really can’t be effectively attacked.

It’s totally within Lin Yi’s profession’s disadvantage range.

That’s why she suggested Lin Yi try another dungeon.

However, Lin Yi shook his head: ”No, I can only enter the first layer dungeons right now, and out of the five dungeons on the first layer, this one offers the most credits for record-breaking.”

”To achieve 1000 credits, I definitely need to break records in all five dungeons.”

”This dungeon cannot be avoided in the end.”

Nangong Ling was speechless.

Indeed, to earn 1000 credits in one day, Lin Yi would need to break records in more than just this dungeon.

He’d have to refresh records in all five dungeons.

For a moment, Nangong Ling didn’t know how to advise Lin Yi.

But Lin Yi was gradually forming plans and ideas in his mind.

The high magic damage reduction + high magic resistance was definitely a headache for him.

But only as long as he didn’t use Tier Eight or higher spells.

Brute force can crush all magic is a rule that applies across the entire Blue Star.

No matter how abnormal the monster mechanics or how special the dungeon mechanics are.

As long as I use skills greatly surpassing the dungeon and monster level, in most cases, I can ignore your mechanics and crush it.

A Divine Fire Celestial Expedition would destroy the entire Sky Temple.

But his current aim is not to destroy the whole dungeon, but to speedrun it while keeping the dungeon intact.

Therefore, using spells above Tier Eight isn’t possible.

And currently, fire, wind, ice, and necromancy Tier Seven or lower spells would significantly lower in damage.

Lin You should be able to wreak havoc in the Sky Temple.

However, currently, the monsters from the Noah Ruins in his Undead Space are already becoming outdated.

Lin Yi’s even considering using them as a triggering mechanism for his Corpse Explosion Skill.

Finally, Lin Yi turned his attention to the Thunder Element spells he had acquired previously.

[Electric Shock]

[Type: Active Skill]

[Tier: Beginner]

[System: Thunder Attribute]

[Cost: 30 Mana Value]

[Chanting Time: 1 second]

[Cooldown Time: None]

[Effect: Electrifies the target, dealing a small amount of thunder attribute damage, with a piercing effect for this damage.]

[Note: All Thunder Attribute skills have relatively low base damage, but relatively higher attribute and magic attack bonuses. Furthermore, as your proficiency in Thunder Attribute skills increases, the damage penetration ratio for all skills from this system will also be enhanced.]

[Current penetration ratio: 10%.]

Like other elemental magic.

The Thunder Attribute has its own special mechanics.

That is [Penetration]!

To put it simply, when dealing thunder attribute damage, it ignores a certain percentage of the target’s magic resistance and damage reduction effects.

And after leveling up, the [Penetration] ratio of all Thunder Attribute spells will be simultaneously enhanced!

This is probably the most unique mechanic in any skill Lin Yi currently has!

So, when Thunder Attribute reaches a high tier.

Does that mean it can deal true damage?
