Martial Arts: I Have Diligence Reward System

Chapter 80: Chapter 74: Successful Promotion

The tournament was extremely intense.

Su Yue’s opponent was also a fierce fighter. Many have analyzed that this opponent definitely has B8-level prowess but just hasn’t reached there yet.

The two of them fought to a standstill the entire morning.

This match, too, has been called the most valuable B7-level ticket. There were many people supporting Su Yue’s opponent, but even more supporting Guangkun, the successive winner.

Although Bai Zhao is currently the first in consecutive wins, his methods are cruel and ruthless, leaving opponents either dead or crippled, which some people deep down despise.

At this point, Guangkun emerged out of nowhere. He also injures his opponents, but most of the time, he doesn’t take it too far, so naturally, he’s loved by everyone.

In the end, Su Yue won.

consecutive wins.

Successfully advanced to B8 level.

The road ahead for Su Yue will be ten times tougher than before.

No fighter who has reached B8 level is weak; each can unleash the Vigorous Fist, has seasoned fighting experience, and is a ruthless character forged through bloodshed and battle.

Su Yue was exhausted.

This time, he estimated he needed to rest for two days.

Of course, facing stronger opponents, Su Yue’s rewards were also completely different.

The increase in Qi Blood and merit value is yet to be mentioned.

He felt his understanding of combat had ascended another level.

Compared to the tedious increase in Qi Blood value, real combat is truly extensive and profound, without an end in sight.

Real combat and sparring are worlds apart.

Although Flower Bear is a B9 athlete, his relationship with Su Yue is ultimately that of a sparring partner, even pretty good friends.

Flower Bear would never hysterically try to kill him; he would surely hold back.

As a result, there’s no way for Su Yue to genuinely experience the fear of facing death.

In the previous battle, there were several critical moments for Su Yue, any slight mistake, and it would have been a fatal outcome.

Saving your damned life would cost 10 million merit points; if Su Yue had died now, it would have been a real death.

There were too many enthusiastic fans in the front, asking for autographs, taking photos, too much hassle, so Su Yue chose to leave through the back door of the club.

Once he took off the mask, no one recognized him.

Except for a few limited friends like Old Zhao, others only knew the fierce fighter on an 80-win streak as Guangkun.

Su Yue’s name only appeared on the sparring list.

...

His muscles were torn all over. Although medicine and the Qi Blood Pill could help recover, no more training could be done tonight.

Su Yue didn’t exchange for a sleep exemption and decided to sleep soundly.

Sleep exemption is something that, what’s there to say.

Although it doesn’t affect one’s spirit or physical strength, after all, people are human, and sleep itself is a pleasant experience. Su Yue occasionally needs to relax a bit.

A dreamless night.

In the morning, Su Yue stretched hard.

Comfortable.

Although his condition wasn’t suitable for the B8 ring, he could barely train the basic sword techniques.

Unfortunately, he still couldn’t pull off a successful slash.

Su Yue even suspected that being able to do the stagnant step was just luck.

Probably a result of a temporary epiphany after experiencing death once.

As soon as he left the hospital, Su Yue saw Old Zhao.

He seemed to be waiting for him, and his face didn’t look good. Su Yue’s heart skipped a beat, having a bad premonition.

Could it be something happened to Flower Bear?

When he was on stage yesterday, Flower Bear also had a B9 match. Could it be that he got matched against Bai Zhao?

”Xiaosu, Flower Bear is in the ICU, and he could die at any moment, you should go see him for the last time.”

Upon seeing Su Yue, Old Zhao couldn’t stop his tears.

Sure enough, whatever you fear comes true.

Su Yue’s mouth went dry.

”Old Zhao, what exactly happened?”

He hurriedly asked again.

”Flower Bear got matched with Bai Zhao. Ten moves in and he was severely injured, and then Bai Zhao’s tongue sword pierced his spine. Combined with the severe internal injuries, the doctors say his chances of survival are less than 10%!”

Old Zhao quickly explained.

”Damn it, isn’t he good at knee strikes? Why did he even try to engage!”

Su Yue asked.

”I went to watch the match. Flower Bear intended to knee strike, but Bai Zhao was too fast. Before Flower Bear could kneel, he had already forced him into the corner.

”It was so fast, indescribably fast.

”In ten moves, Flower Bear didn’t even have time to admit defeat. If it weren’t for his tough skin and flesh, he might have died on the spot.”

The hospital treating Flower Bear wasn’t far, so they talked while walking.

”Not even time to kneel, how fast was that!”

Su Yue frowned.

To sell tickets, the fighting arena doesn’t allow videos, so Su Yue really hasn’t witnessed Bai Zhao in action.

...

Good news.

Flower Bear woke up; the 10% survival chance he luckily hit.

But there is bad news too.

The doctor said Flower Bear’s spinal cord was shattered, and he has no feeling in his lower body.

Which means, for the rest of his life, he’ll have to live in a wheelchair.

Su Yue sighed heavily.

This is a painful fate similar to Uncle’s.

”Master Su, don’t act like I’m dead.

”Get me a chick here, and I can still request a fight.

”To escape alive from Bai Zhao is already fortunate.”

Seeing the subdued mood of Su Yue and the others, Flower Bear on the hospital bed was the one doing the comforting.

True to the spirit of a Martial Artist, just after escaping danger, he’s back in a regular ward without needing any life-supporting machine.

”So, what are your plans moving forward?”

Su Yue asked.

The path of combat for Flower Bear had reached its end.

”With the prize money, I bought a small shop. Recently, I’ve been discussing with Old Zhao to partner up and open a barbecue stall, hotpot during the day, and a big canteen at night.

”I’m the majority shareholder, Old Zhao holds shares, and it won’t be hard to make a living.

”Luckily, I was smart enough to get a house purchase quota before; otherwise, I’d be homeless now.”

Flower Bear, too, sighed.

”Master Su, I know you have ambitions, but hear me out, after defeating the last B8 fight, retire.

”At B9 level, it’s easy to get matched with Bai Zhao. You’re still young with unlimited potential, not like us brutes... don’t take risks.”

Suddenly, Flower Bear advised earnestly.

”Hmm, I’ll consider it.”

Su Yue solemnly nodded.

Actually, Flower Bear was truly not weak; if Su Yue were to fight him for real, his chances of winning were only 70%, even a 30% chance of losing.

But against Bai Zhao, Flower Bear lasted only 10 moves.

This person is truly terrifying.

”Flower Bear, when I can defeat B9, I’ll definitely avenge you.”

An approximately 25-year-old fighter said with red eyes.

He was Flower Bear’s subordinate, currently at B6 level.

Seeing his boss crippled was unacceptable to him.

”You’re just trying to piss me off and make me feel guilty.

”In the arena, life and death are on one’s account, I’ve signed a waiver, if Bai Zhao killed me, I’d have deserved it.

”If I ran a red light and got hit by a car, what good is it to kill the driver? Besides, you can’t even do it, and have me give you flowers in my wheelchair?

”Fighting makes money fast, but staying alive is more important, never take unnecessary risks; remember... living is more important than anything else.

”Anyone seeking vengeance on my behalf would be my enemy, and I wouldn’t forgive, I mean it.”

Flower Bear’s expression turned solemn.

Others gritted their teeth but had nothing to say.

Bai Zhao, truly terrifying.

”My character is like an echinoderm, tough outside, all spikes, but soft inside. Don’t hurt me, nobody is allowed to mention revenge anymore.

”If any of you get into trouble, I can only follow you in death.”

At this moment, Flower Bear’s eyes genuinely held a plea.

He didn’t want others to lose their lives because of him.

”Ugly outside, yellow inside... you truly are a sea urchin.”

Su Yue shook his head.

”Speaking of yellow, I thought of Teacher Wuteng. Who has some films from the neighboring island nation?

”It hurts a bit, need something to divert my attention.”

Flower Bear grimaced.
