Martial Arts: I Have Diligence Reward System

Chapter 68: Chapter 62: The Fated Punching Bag

The training room was noisy, with more than a dozen fighters in training.

Most of them were over the age of 30.

Su Yue thought it was normal. If they were martial artists in their twenties, they would definitely be out on the battlefield fighting for a future.

At 30, most people have been training for more than ten years.

After more than ten years, if they still can’t break through to the second rank, there’s no point in continuing to fight. It’s better to earn more money in a combat club so that in old age, they won’t be so poor.

Martial artists are used to spending lavishly; the government’s pension is simply not enough to squander.

The first rank in combat also has different levels.

From B1 to B9, with B1 being the lowest level, it’s the novice level for fighters.

One can only advance to the B2 level after accumulating ten victory points.

In the arena, winning once gives one victory point.

But failing once will also deduct one victory point.

Under this rule, the quickest way for a fighter to advance is a winning streak.

Otherwise, losing one victory point is particularly painful.

Some fighters with bad luck might lose ten times in a row, directly dropping from B2 to B1, which is definitely a sad story.

With each advancement in the B rank, the combat bounty increases significantly, and the fighter’s fame will rise, even leading to a star effect, grabbing a few sponsors, which is extra income.

Sun Zhiwei wasn’t bragging.

He once held the highest consecutive win record in the first rank.

consecutive wins.

Turns out his instructor was quite a tough character.

Ninety-eight matches, not a single loss.

He was eventually defeated by a B9 opponent, unable to reach a hundred consecutive wins, which Su Yue found regrettable.

Afterwards, Sun Zhiwei saved enough money and returned to his hometown in Cengxi City to become a teacher in a potential class.

Of course, he was also lucky to break through to the second rank.

The former champion of the consecutive win fighters was named Bai Zhao.

Since Sun Zhiwei had become a second-rank martial artist, his records became history.

Bai Zhao has won 83 consecutive matches and is currently in the B8 level.

The consecutive win leaderboard is different from the level leaderboard.

To be on the consecutive win leaderboard, no losses are allowed.

The level leaderboard is mixed with all sorts; as long as you fight enough matches, you’ll inevitably advance in level.

...

The fighter Su Yue was sparring with was currently a B5 level.

Next to Su Yue was a B8 level fighter called Flower Bear, a big and burly man with a face full of ferocity.

Flower Bear was the boss of this training ground.

The punching bag sparring with Flower Bear was a middle-aged man in his forties.

This was a true ordinary person, perhaps a bit stronger, but according to Qi Blood values, he definitely exceeded no more than 15 calories.

Everyone called him Old Zhao.

”Young man, you’re so young, don’t come to a place like this. It’s very dangerous.”

Old Zhao, seeing Su Yue’s youth, advised him with some reluctance.

”Uh, it’s fine.”

Su Yue smiled.

The training had not officially started yet. The punching bags were dressed with protective gear, waiting for the call. The fighters were warming up in the distance, so they had a couple of minutes to chat.

”Little brother, you’re still in high school, right? Is it because you can’t afford tuition fees? I and a few brothers can pool together and lend you some, and you can pay us back slowly after you graduate from college. Don’t worry; money isn’t urgent. This place is really dangerous.

”You’re still so young; don’t let anything happen to you.”

The more Old Zhao looked at Su Yue, the harder it was for him to bear.

The rest of the punching bags also agreed that Su Yue should return to school.

Old Zhao even started to gather money, but Su Yue stopped him.

In this unfamiliar environment, receiving a few caring words made Su Yue feel warm inside, but he could only remain silent.

He had no way to explain.

The fighter approached.

”Kid, I can knock you back into your mother’s womb with three punches.”

Su Yue’s opponent looked at him with disdain.

Such a small frame, what a waste of time.

”Hmph, three punches, a B5 level, indeed full of trash; you should’ve sent him home with one punch.”

Flower Bear gave a cold laugh, his pupils seemingly filled with frost, making others’ skin crawl.

This was killing intent.

Su Yue frowned; he was even somewhat worried for Old Zhao.

Could an ordinary person withstand Flower Bear’s hits?

...

The training began.

Punches were fierce and angles were tricky.

Su Yue’s reaction speed was undeniably fast. The punching bags were allowed to dodge as a form of training for the fighters.

Before it started, Su Yue thought it would be easy for him.

But he had underestimated.

The fighter only feigned a move, and Su Yue fell for it.

Thud!

A solid knee strike hit Su Yue’s abdomen as if slammed by a heavy hammer, and his gall bladder almost came up.

The intense pain shot straight to his head, almost causing Su Yue to faint.

Fortunately, with his 19 calories of Qi Blood, he quickly recovered.

”Haha, first time as a punching bag? Turns out you’re just a chicken who’s never fought.”

The fighter laughed even more dismissively.

Su Yue clutched his stomach. He glanced at the side and felt even more frustrated.

What a joke.

Even when facing a B8 fighter, Old Zhao, an ordinary person, could dodge a few punches.

And as for himself, he was nearly taken down by the first move.

Combat experience.

This is what Xu Baiyan mentioned, that combat experience is crucial!

Indeed.

Pure Qi and Blood martial artists are truly useless.

In real fighting, any moment, any instant, could turn you into a corpse.

Fighting... requires accumulated experience over time.

Even those weak like Old Zhao, who are ordinary people, can dodge a B8 fighter’s attacks, but his 19 calories clearly made him a loser.

Now, Su Yue could finally understand the painstaking efforts of Dai Yuegui and Sun Zhiwei.

Combat experience is indeed more important than sheer Qi Blood values.

”Still dare to be distracted?”

The next moment, Su Yue saw a fist charging at his face like a dagger.

Even though he had protective gear on his head, his instinctive fear made Su Yue subconsciously dodge.

Unfortunately.

The moment he dodged, that familiar knee once again struck his abdomen.

The same place, the same strength.

His intestines were almost broken.

Su Yue bent over in pain.

This was simply humiliating, utterly disgraceful.

Yes.

This fighter was actually insulting him.

The same knee, the same spot, it was a way to tell him he’s entirely useless.

”Again.”

Su Yue stood up.

He was fueled with a competitive spirit; he couldn’t believe he couldn’t dodge this attack.

Su Yue also had strengths.

He had a high Qi Blood value, and his recovery speed was quick.

Bam!

Bam!

Bam!

Next, Su Yue was beaten beyond recognition. Pain washed over him like a tide, nearly causing him to pass out.

Yet amidst the intense pain, Su Yue gradually began to understand what fighting and battling were.

No wonder fighters use human punching bags to train punches.

Many times, even the body needs to develop some instincts. The process of fighting is a necessary path to developing subconscious awareness.

When fists touch the body, each place feels different.

Fighters need to familiarize themselves with each kind of touch on their sparring partners; this is also bodily consciousness.

Familiarity breeds skill, and only through hard training.

Su Yue didn’t know how long it took, but he finally could barely dodge one or two moves.

His vision was covered in blood dripping from his forehead, a scarlet view.

Su Yue was trapped in the fighting state, after all, it was an experience bought with intense pain, unforgettable.

He had no idea about the commotion he was causing.

Beside him, the alarms of those human punching bags had long gone off, and they all stepped down.

But Su Yue, considered a novice who would faint after three hits, was still fighting.

Clearly, Su Yue was the most severely injured, but his alarm hadn’t gone off yet.

Old Zhao lay far away with a bruised face, stunned speechless.

Is this a destined punching bag?

...
