Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 674: A day of Joyful Delight

Nikolai’s heart thumped upon hearing the two sudden cries. He swallowed, trying to calm the thunderous pulse thrumming through his chest. The tiny pair of humans entered the world under his watch once again.

”Uwaaaaa!”

”Wuuuaaaaa!”

The two voices carried a subtle difference.

He watched everything move in slow motion as the little midwives held the babies that came into view. A wet black tail bounced behind Miyu’s child, while a curly blonde fluff dangled behind Reina’s.

”Oh~”

His voice trembled when he saw his two daughters.

Despite not being his first time, Nikolai’s emotions instantly overwhelmed him, like a torrent of waves he watched in silence.

”Here, you are, Lady Miyu. She’s healthy and cute.”

”...” Miyu sheepishly took hold of her daughter, brushing the slightly damp curls of fine hair, while the midwife helped adjust her grip.

”That’s good, the baby won’t fall or feel insecure this way.” The older werewolf flexed her muscles as she stroked Miyu’s hair like a child. ”Good girl, you worked really hard... Let it all out, you don’t need to hold it in.”

”Mmhmm...”

Meanwhile, he glanced at the other side, where the slightly rough-looking midwife held Reina’s daughter like a precious treasure. ”Ah man, how did you end up giving birth to such a precious little angel?”

The dirty blonde-haired midwife smirked at Reina, her eyes sharp and aggressive, yet she handled the baby with the most delicate care.

”W-What are you sayin’?”

’Reina’s exhausted.’

Her voice lacked the power from when he started giving blood, more than half a day of labour, her energy seemed empty.

”Do you need anything?”

Much like Miyu’s midwife, the rough werewolf helped Reina slowly adjust her grip and holding method for the baby. At first, he thought they didn’t get along, but to his surprise, she asked Reina if she needed anything.

’I guess Leona chose the best ex-maids for the task... both of them suit Reina and Miyu well.’

”Master, are you going to keep standing there all day?”

The middle-aged werewolf gave him a sly nudge.

She then leaned close to his ear out of Reina’s view, ”She’s been a little down lately, so I’m grateful you’re here. Can you make sure you take good care of the girl? Reina acts strong to protect Miyu, but she’s softer than cotton on the inside.”

”I...”

Without waiting for him to finish, the werewolf tapped his shoulder with a wink.

”Let me get some things for the girls, I know you’ll be better at comforting them than Chisa and me.”

”O-Oi... Akane, wait!” Reina called out to her midwife.

”Shhhh, don’t upset the baby~ look, your husband is here now, stop being a little bitch. Oh~ Master, please pardon my language.”

Nikolai waved his hand, signalling for her to leave.

He didn’t mind the loose atmosphere, and she obviously gave comfort and a sense of motherhood to Reina, so he stopped himself from shouting.

”Don’t mention it, but don’t do it in front of the children again.”

”Haha, of course, of course.”

The loud midwife dragged Chisa, the neat and thoughtful midwife from Miyu’s bed and left the room while whistling to herself.

Slowly, the doctors and nurses also left, leaving two females in the corner observing the details on the monitors. Nikolai glanced at the large LED touchscreen monitors that cost hundreds of thousands and shook his head.

’Such a worthwhile expense.’

There weren’t any wires or annoying needles to view or read their bodies.

A small patch on the back of the neck could handle everything thanks to this technology.

He approached Reina’s bed, using his leg to hook Miyu’s and dragged them closer. However, he wanted to support the delicate blonde. Nikolai thought it wouldn’t be fair to focus on one, so as the beds slotted together, he sat between them.

The moment he leaned on the headboard, a subtle weight settled on either side of his chest, with both women lying against his chest.

”I’m really tired, but look at our little miracle, dear husband.”

Miyu held the small fox in her palms, the size a little smaller than Elizabeth and his werewolf triplets. He liked the fact that the little pup inherited his mother’s hair colour; this way, no one would confuse her with Kumiko’s.

He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, helping support her palms with his.

The size difference is quite amazing: the demure fox, much smaller, with his single palm almost twice the size of hers.

Miyu peeked at him with wet, sleepy eyes and asked. ”Mmmm~ husband, can you stroke my neck? It’s a little sore.”

”What?!” Reina gasped at Miyu’s timid appeal. ”Don’t act all feeble, you were perfectly fine until you saw darling in the window!”

”Hmph~”

He watched quietly, pretending to close his eyes, as Miyu peeked. She suddenly pulled out her tongue and snorted at Reina. While the blonde looked gobsmacked, turning to him for help as if she were the weaker party.

Nikolai hadn’t seen them react like this before.

But then the midwife’s words came to mind, the fact that Reina wasn’t strong and only appeared strong while being soft like cotton on the inside.

This wasn’t the time for the two to bicker, though; both little girls were glancing up, unable to move their heads, forced to stare at the two beautiful women and the ruggedly handsome man sitting between them.

’They probably have no clue...’

No, he shook his head in denial of that... because when he reached out to the pair of little pups, their eyes appeared to sparkle once they sniffed his hand.

”Wuwuwu....”

”Aaaaaau?”

Thanks to their great development, their vocal cords were slightly stronger than a human child’s.

Monsters needed to be active and able to defend themselves from an early age; thus, from the dawn of time, children matured within a few years compared to humans, who took almost two decades.

”It looks like they both love me as much as their mothers.” He chuckled.

Reina and Miyu both glared at him for a few seconds, but soon their anger melted like frost in summertime.

Nikolai took both children, one in each palm; they barely came to the second joint of his fingers. They were wrapped in an insulating cloth and stared at him with big, glistening eyes, one pair a soft black, the other bright silver.

”My lovely little girls, welcome to this world. I am your father.”

”.....”

”Nn...?”

The black-haired pup closed her eyes and curled up in his hands, while the blonde stared at him for a few seconds before doing the same.

”They don’t cry much... these girls must be smart.”

”W-What should we do about their names, Husband?”

”Yeah, darlin’, what do you think?”

Nikolai didn’t name his children, though he added some finishing touches or opinions.

He enjoyed hearing the names his wives chose, the meanings and feelings they put into them, half the excitement of their births.

Although he had more input on Leonid.

”I will be happy with whatever names you choose, though Elizabeth II, Dhalia and Viktoria are already taken, haha.”

”Shut up~”

”Husband... we’re not that stupid.”

”Hahahahah!”

His sudden laugh set the two pups off; unable to endure the loud volume, they began to cry in his palms. The two mothers were elbowing him as they took their daughters and safely tucked them into their chests.

”Oh... Reina, you’re looking quite juicy there...”

”N-No, there’s no milk for you! It’s all for Yuzuha! Leave me alone, take Miyu’s tits, they’re huge and smell like honey!”

”Eh?” Miyu froze, her cheeks rapidly heating as they turned red.

Nikolai glanced down and saw the swollen pink tips peeking from the loose hospital gown. He swallowed but then quickly removed his gaze.

”Ahem! What do you take me for? I am here to see my cute little daughters... Yuzuha, is that her name? Mm, she’s cute... so cute... Yuzu...”

”W-Wait... that’s the name I wanted!?” Miya glared at Reina, who returned the favour, pulling out her tongue to the black-haired kitsune.

”Heh~ heh~ my cute Yuzuha suits it more...!”

”Mm, well, you’re not wrong.” Miyu didn’t keep fighting and instead smiled after one deep sigh. ”To be honest, I knew you wanted that name; it wasn’t really my favourite, but since you’ve chosen...”

She poked her daughter’s small nose and spoke in a babyish voice.

”My lovely little treasure, Suzune, say hello to your mother, father, and that annoying old aunt of yours, fufu.” Miyu held her daughter up, slowly turning her to avoid motion sickness or any neck issues, then, when she saw Reina, the little black-haired fox made a cute noise.

”Wooo~ woo!”

However, it wasn’t Reina she called, as the little wolf buried in Reina’s chest began to make muffled sounds.

”Awwwwwooo~~”

”Ah... it seems she already knows that her little sister is just as shy as her mother.”

”W-What?! Don’t lie, Miyu!” Reina protested, but gently coddled Yuzuha with a soft, melodic voice. ”Don’t listen to them, baby. I know you’ll grow up to be brave and strong like your dad, okay?”

’Is this paradise?’

Between the two women, Nikolai enjoyed the scene of two miracles on either side of him within arm’s reach.

Though he knew that Kumiko and Rika might be suffering, he wouldn’t rush away when his women just gave birth right before his eyes.

”Come here, rest yourselves on my chest. I promise to remain until you’ve both recovered.”

The doctor on the other side waved, pointing to the expensive incubation machines built for young hybrids, but he waved them off.

To tear new mothers from their daughters so soon wasn’t what he wanted.

”Just a little more time, please...” He mouthed.

For now, he wanted to soak in the atmosphere of Joyful delight.
