Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1043: Sharing the news with Seniors

From MCʼs Perspective:

Evening,

I left the dorm, hoping for a calmer atmosphere. But as I stepped out, my eyes narrowed in surprise. A massive crowd had gathered in front of the building. They knew I was staying here. Unlike last time, coercion wouldnʼt work now. The crowd was even larger than before.

”Vincent is here!”

”Vincent Carey!”

The crowd began to chant my name. I stood there, touching my forehead, stunned by the sight. It was incredible to see students from different Wizard Halls united like this.

Then I recovered my expression and decided to return to my room.

Shortly afterward, Elder House Wizards from their respective halls arrived to disperse the crowd. These Level-7 wizards commanded immediate silence. The crowd scattered quietly, their awe evident even to the powerful mages.

The Elder House Wizards were astonished. Usually rivals, they had witnessed an extraordinary spectacle. Some embraced the changes, while others resisted. The deep-rooted politics between the Wizard Halls would not be altered overnight. With bitter smiles, they departed.

...

Meanwhile, the academy dean had already informed the crippled old man of the Mage Union messengerʼs visit. While other Magic Lords were eager to learn about this, they couldnʼt approach him directly.

Vincent Carey was a member of the Sub-Taboo Hall, and the old man closely guarded him. The other Magic Lords could only gather information later.

The Female Magic Lord of the Taboo Hall was concerned. She had also heard the news. Such a significant opportunity for Vincent Carey could elevate the Sub-Taboo Hallʼs status.

They had previously attempted to eliminate Vincent Carey but failed. It was even more challenging now with the old manʼs watchful eye. She could only await the First Elderʼs emergence from seclusion.

...

The Following Day,

After getting ready, I left the dorm building and headed to the Sub-Taboo Hall. Thankfully, there was no unruly crowd this time. I arrived at the hall shortly after and entered by scanning my ID. The door closed automatically behind me.

I settled onto the comfortable sofa, eager to share the news with the two seniors from yesterday. The student frenzy from the previous day had been surprising, but todayʼs calm atmosphere suggested that the Wizard Hall Elders had managed to restore order.

I suspected the news of the Mage Union Ambassadorʼs visit had caused considerable unrest among the council elders. They were already grappling with resource distribution issues.

Shortly afterward, Carolina entered the room, her eyes filled with curiosity. Upon seeing Vincent, she immediately asked, ”What went down in the meeting?” After asking, she sat on the sofa.

”Wait for Senior Gilbert to arrive,” I replied.

”Hmm, youʼve already become a celebrity in our country. All the major news companies have reported about this Mage Union wizardʼs visit,” she said. ”I wouldnʼt be surprised if the neighboring countries heard the news as well.”

I shook my head. ”It wonʼt change anything but will bring me a lot of trouble instead,” I responded.

”Hmm, it might be true. I wonder whether the Dark League would stop targeting you,” she said.

”Even if they do, I donʼt plan on forgiving them. Theyʼve been harassing me since high school,” I replied.

”Looks like Iʼm the one who came late here,” Gilbertʼs voice sounded suddenly.

”Senior brother, youʼve arrived just in time,” Carolina stated.

He sat on the empty chair behind the table. Then he looked at Vincent and asked, ”Looks like youʼve received special permission from the Dean.”

I replied, ”Yes, he gave me one yesterday.”

”Now, letʼs talk about the meeting. What did they tell you? I saw the picture of the aircraft. It was breathtaking,” Gilbert said with a look of yearning on his face.

Hearing that, I began to explain. At first, both Carolina and Gilbertʼs expressions were calm. But when they heard about the student exchange spot, their expressions changed to surprise, then sadness.

A few minutes later, I finished explaining

”What happened?” I asked them both. Their expressions mirrored each otherʼs sadness.

”A spot as an exchange student. Does that mean you will leave the academy?” Carolina asked. It hadnʼt been long since Vincent joined the academy, but his growth from the outer house to the core house had been exceptionally rapid. He was on the brink of entering the True House as well.

”Since youʼve agreed to their condition, I guess youʼll have to leave the academy,” Gilbert said from the side. He was familiar with the student exchange program.

Not many academy institutions practiced this method. Most closely guarded their secrets. It was rare to find an academy as open-minded as the ones in Super Large Nations.

Such a program likely existed only in the Super Large Nation, a country unconcerned about knowledge transfer potentially harming them in the future.

Hearing their concerns, a look of understanding dawned on me. I immediately said, ”I believe I will continue to be part of the Sub-Taboo Hall. Iʼve already accepted the Gravity Ancestorʼs inheritance, so that wonʼt change.”

”Itʼs just that the Mage Union is giving me a chance because they want someone graduated from the Super Large Nationsʼ institutions to join their Special Program.”

”They canʼt find one, so they probably used the Wizard Heart Competitionʼs winners as potential wizards,” I explained.

Carolina felt a sense of warmth. She realized Vincentʼs words were true.

”Thatʼs right, youʼre more of a Sub-Taboo Hall member than us because of your inheritance,” Gilbert agreed.

”So, what are you going to do next?” Gilbert asked. ”Are you going to wait for the notification to come?”

I smiled and said, ”Before going to a new place, I want to travel across our country one last time.”

Gilbertʼs tone turned solemn. He thought Vincent was planning something reckless that could put others at risk.

”That wonʼt happen,” he said. ”If you go outside, do you think the academy would stay silent? They would send someone to protect you. Donʼt forget those hostile wizards. They might make one last attempt to harm you. So donʼt think you can escape every time.”
