Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

From MC’s Perspective:

I glanced at the status panel, my heart skipping a beat as I immediately recognized her level—she was a Level-7 Wizard. But what made my stomach churn wasn’t her rank, but her magic.

“”Poison Flower”” My face must have betrayed my thoughts because, without a doubt, poison magic was among the most troublesome to handle. Its corrosive nature wasn’t just destructive; it was insidious, creeping through defenses and eroding both body and mind.

As I analyzed her, I felt a shift in the air—she was moving towards me. Closing the status panel swiftly, I braced myself. This wasn’t a battle I could afford to approach recklessly. I gathered my energy, and with a calm yet firm incantation, I spoke the words that would turn the tide.

“Gravity Field.”

In an instant, the weight of the world seemed to bend to my will. A crushing gravitational force manifested around me, pulling everything within a wide radius down with unimaginable intensity. The air itself seemed to thicken, growing oppressive. Even the ground beneath me cracked slightly, as if groaning under the strain.

Stacie Sharpe, who had been advancing towards me with unsettling calmness, froze in her tracks. The confident strides she’d taken were brought to an abrupt halt as the overwhelming force bore down on her.

“”Pfff!””

A thin line of blood escaped her lips, a stark contrast against her pale face, the sudden assault taking its toll. But, despite the brutal surprise, she didn’t falter for long. After all, she was a Level-7 Wizard—her body was tempered by years of rigorous training and the unique trials of wizardry. Even in the face of a gravity spell, her physique was no ordinary one.

I could see it in her eyes—a moment of shock, quickly replaced by calculation. She was piecing it together. Gravity magic. That much was clear from the energy pressing down on her. But what truly unsettled her was the source. By all accounts, the target was supposed to be a Level-5 Wizard.

She knew the reports well; they should have been accurate.

Yet here she was, under siege by a force she couldn’t have anticipated from someone two levels below her. Confusion flashed in her eyes.

As the seconds ticked by, I saw her knees tremble slightly, her frame struggling against the increasing pressure. Gravity magic didn’t attack in bursts—it compounded over time, each moment more punishing than the last. The weight multiplied with every heartbeat, an inexorable force that wore down the body and mind.

Still, despite the growing force bearing down on her, she held her ground. It was impressive. Most wizards would have shattered by now, their bones cracking under the relentless pressure like fragile porcelain.

But Stacie Sharpe was different. I could tell from the way her muscles tensed and her breath grew more labored—her physical resilience was remarkable. She had poison magic, yes, but her body was unusually durable. A dangerous combination.

From my vantage point, I watched her struggle, but there was no surprise in my gaze. I had expected this. Poison wizards were often underestimated, but their endurance, both magical and physical, was what made them so deadly.

Even now, with the weight of the world seemingly pressing down on her, she was holding on, defying the fate I had intended for her.

But how long could she last? How long until her resolve, or her body, broke beneath the crushing force of gravity?

Pfff!

Stacie Sharpe coughed up more blood, the metallic taste heavy on her tongue. This time, it wasn’t just a minor injury—she was seriously hurt.

The pressure of the gravity spell was gnawing at her insides, threatening to crush her entirely. If she didn’t act soon, her body would give out, and her life would be forfeit. Her mind raced as she bit her lip, trying to focus through the pain. She needed to fight back.

“Smiling Flower.”

Her voice, though strained, carried power as she invoked her spell. In an instant, the ground around her began to shift as several dark, ominous flowers bloomed—black petals unfurling like sinister smiles beneath the crushing force.

For a brief moment, the flowers held their form, their eerie beauty defying the gravitational pressure around them. But it was fleeting. One by one, the flowers crumpled under the weight, their stems snapping, their petals disintegrating into the earth.

Yet, even as the flowers were crushed, a faint, wicked smile played on Stacie’s lips. She wasn’t disheartened by the failure of the flowers. In fact, this was precisely what she had hoped for.

She only needed a moment—just enough time for the flowers to manifest, even if they were destroyed. The real danger was never in the flowers themselves, but in what they left behind.

As the last of the black petals dissolved under the pressure, a sinister black fog began to seep from their remains, spreading slowly but surely. This was her poison. The “”Poison Flower””spell had done its work.

The black, toxic air began to roll out, snaking across the ground and through the air, seeking out life to destroy. Wherever it passed, the surrounding bushes and plants withered instantly, turning to ash. The poison didn’t need to touch skin—it consumed whatever was in its path.

The gravitational force could crush physical objects, but it couldn’t stop the flow of air. The poison was ethereal, moving like a deathly mist, and it was making its way toward me. Explore stories at empire

She knew it was only a matter of time before the poison reached me, and when it did, it would be over. Her eyes glinted with malicious satisfaction as she endured the last vestiges of the gravity spell, waiting for it to dissipate.

On the other hand, I had been watching closely. The black smoke that appeared after the destruction of the flowers wasn’t a simple vapor—it was thick, dark, and unnatural.

Suddenly, a sharp warning rang out in my mind.

[Ding! Warning]

[Deadly poison is approaching the host]

The mechanical voice echoed in my head, snapping me into action.
