81: Chapter 81 Corning Pharmaceuticals Raises Capital by 20 Billion! Song Rui Kicks Out Seven Shareholders!”Damn it, you scumbag, you actually colluded with Fatty Yang to scam us out of our money??”

”Hand over the 4 billion plus that you transferred! Otherwise, I’ll make sure you spend the rest of your life in jail!”

A middle-aged shareholder sitting near the front was furious.

He stood up, kicked his chair away, walked over to the shareholder at the end who was jumping up and down, grabbed him by the tie, hauled him out of his seat, and roared.

As shareholders of Kangning Pharmaceutical Group, everyone was naturally quite powerful.

Although the loss of over 4 billion wouldn’t break their bones, as people who usually considered themselves upper-class elites, how could they stand being deceived like fools?

”That’s right! Give us our money back! Damn it, you dare to scam us? Do you not want to live anymore?”

”Do you believe I’ll throw you out the office window?”

”Give us the money, or I’ll break one of your legs today!”

...

The other shareholders also stood up angrily.

They surrounded the small shareholder, looking like they would draw blood if they didn’t get their money back today.

Even ”Manager Jiang,” the representative of the internal capital from Magic City, clenched his fists, his face filled with uncontrollable rage!

”Everyone... everyone, brothers, I will return the money, please don’t lay hands on me...”

”Ouch, who kicked me in the crotch?”

”Damn, brothers, for the sake of us working together for so many years, don’t hit my face, I still need to see people!”

After a flurry of punches and kicks, everyone sat back in their original seats.

Sure enough, some people are just lowly!

The small shareholder at the end was bruised and swollen; with tears and snot running down his face, he started calling his assistant, demanding that all the embezzled company funds be transferred back.

The efficiency was high.

About half an hour later.

A senior executive from the finance department came to report that the group had received a remittance of 5 billion.

As for the extra 700-800 million, that was interest and compensation for damages.

Seeing the money return, the shareholders seemed to have a tacit understanding and did not pursue the small shareholder’s ”crime of misappropriating company assets” any further.

People at their level knew not to go too far; if they really pushed someone into a corner, the results might not be worth the cost.

”In the name of the Board of Directors meeting, I announce that your shares in the group will be bought back by me at 10% of their market value. You can leave now!”

As the dust settled, Chairman Song Rui glanced coldly at the small shareholder, who looked like a stray dog.

A few seconds later, the door to Conference Room 01 was opened again, and two of the company’s security guards walked in to escort the small shareholder out.

The small shareholder walked out with a sinister look on his face, not refuting a single word the entire time.

He knew very well that if he said one more word, he would likely be eating prison food for the rest of his life.

Facing Chairman Song Rui’s aggressive buyback method, the nine shareholders at the conference table opened their mouths but ultimately swallowed their words.

This stunning, imposing woman was not to be trifled with!

If they jumped up again, they might become the chicken used to warn the monkeys!

”Next, I will announce another matter. Kangning Pharmaceutical Group is going to increase its capital by 20 billion. All shareholders must increase their capital in proportion to their shareholdings!”

”In addition, given the current lukewarm market response, we are going to change the company’s drug research direction. All previous research will be abandoned, and all funds and personnel will be invested in a new Domain. I will provide a detailed list!”

”Alright, let’s begin the vote!”

Chairman Song Rui’s cold, beautiful lips moved, and without giving the nine shareholders time to react, she raised her hand on her own.

But her two statements were like a thunderclap on a clear day, shocking everyone into speechlessness!

Even Manager Feng Rong, the deputy general manager who was acting as the meeting secretary, was the same!

These two pieces of news were too big, even more shocking than the previous 4 billion fund embezzlement incident!

A group with a market value of over 40 billion actually wanted to increase capital by 20 billion at once??

And, abandoning previous drug development to go all-in on another track??

Never mind what track it was; for a large group, shouldn’t they consolidate their past Domain and then expand successively?

Why did this new chairman, as soon as she took office, want to perform such a shocking maneuver?

If they hadn’t seen how Chairman Song Rui handled that small shareholder, everyone would have thought she was a newcomer who didn’t know anything!

This wasn’t leading the group forward, but running headfirst into a wall to die!

”... Chairman Song, we are a pharmaceutical company. Our Foundation lies in the Domain we have deeply cultivated. If we change it rashly, I’m afraid it will cause panic among shareholders, leading them to sell off their stocks.”

Seeing the other shareholders turn their gaze to him, Manager Jiang had to bite the bullet and advise Chairman Song Rui:

”As for the capital increase, it’s not impossible, but increasing it by 20 billion at once, isn’t that too much?”

”I think we can all chip in and invest 1 billion into the new drug research, that should be enough.”

”No!”

Chairman Song Rui had no intention of wavering. Her beautiful eyes swept across the nine shareholders present, and she said word by word:

”I have already decided on these two matters, and there is no room for negotiation!”

”If anyone is dissatisfied, I can buy back all your shares at 5% above net value!”

Hiss—!

Everyone gasped. The look of surprise in their eyes as they gazed at Chairman Song Rui also revealed a trace of intense confusion.

This beautiful woman didn’t look like a madwoman, so why was she both increasing capital and buying back shares?

Could it be that this beautiful woman possessed some kind of miracle drug that hadn’t yet appeared on the market, such that she was willing to spare no cost to have the group devote itself entirely to the new drug track?

However, the condition of buying back at 5% above net value was still very tempting. Cashing out and leaving was actually quite nice.

Kangning Pharmaceutical Group relied on physical sales, and its channel costs and R&D costs took up a large portion of its revenue.

The dividends they had received in the past weren’t even a few hundred million; the bulk of it was used to reap leeks in the stock market.

”... Chairman Song, the company has a new development direction, and I feel I can no longer keep up. I agree to your buyback plan.”

”Chairman Song, I also agree to the buyback!”

”Me too!”

...

Soon, six out of the nine shareholders chose to take the money and leave.

Compared to unrealistic, distant goals, taking the money and running was the safest bet.

Moreover, they didn’t think highly of Chairman Song Rui’s new plan.

Changing commanders before a battle was a military taboo, not to mention launching so many things that could change the group’s destiny all at once.

At the Board of Directors meeting, according to the A/B share dual-class structure, Chairman Song Rui held 61% of the voting rights.

They couldn’t stop her even if they joined forces, so it was better to withdraw now and save themselves the daily scheming and squabbling.

”No problem. This is the equity transfer agreement. You can leave after you sign it. The funds will be in place within half an hour after the Board of Directors meeting ends.”

Chairman Song Rui’s expression remained unchanged, as if she didn’t care about their departure at all.

The six shareholders looked at each other, nodded secretly, picked up their pens, and quickly finished signing.

Nearby, the personnel from Kangning Group’s legal department carefully verified everything and reported to Chairman Song Rui:

”Chairman Song, the buyback contracts have been signed, and there are no issues.”

”Good. You may leave first.”

”Yes!”

The Board of Directors meeting continued.

However, at this time, including Chairman Song Rui, there were only four directors left.

Among them, after the buyback, Chairman Song Rui controlled 58% of Kangning Pharmaceutical Group’s shares and held 87% of the voting rights.

Manager Jiang, the representative of the internal capital from Magic City, held 7% of the shares and 6% of the voting rights.

A private equity fund from Jiangnan Province held 5% of the shares and 3% of the voting rights.

An investment institution from Shenwan City held 3% of the shares and 2% of the voting rights.

The remaining 24% of shares were held by retail investors in the Hong Kong stock market.

Chairman Song Rui looked at the remaining three directors and said briefly:

”Increasing capital by 20 billion and changing the group’s scientific research direction—do you have any other questions?”

”Chairman Song, since you are so confident, we have no choice but to accompany you to the end. We hope to receive the returns we deserve.”

Manager Jiang gave a bitter smile and waved his hand.

”Chairman Song, we are betting all our available cash on this. We hope you can lead the big ship of Kangning to break through the waves and go further!”

”That’s right, Chairman Song, we are betting everything on you!”

...

Listening to the complaints of the three directors, Chairman Song Rui sneered inwardly.

The people left behind all had major capital forces backing them.

Their channels for obtaining information were far superior to those of smaller capital forces!

They definitely knew something about the recent great changes in the East.

Right now, as she aggressively integrated Kangning Pharmaceutical Group, they clearly saw what was going on, but they were all old foxes, pretending to be hot-blooded youths.

Of course, Chairman Song Rui wouldn’t expose them.

Besides building her own power base by taking control of Kangning Pharmaceutical Group, she also needed to use the influence of this group to lay the groundwork in various Domains of the extraordinary recovery in advance!
