While I am in Reality, I Can Enter the Singularity Universe

69: Chapter 69 Su Zhe: They want to create true—artificial intelligence!Half a minute later, Director Su Zhe said to Dr. Aila with a somewhat gloomy expression:

”Apart from Qin Ling, are there really no other test subjects that meet Young Master William’s requirements?”

”None. Not a single one of the three hundred-plus test subjects in this biological base of ours fits the criteria.” Dr. Aila shook her head.

Director Su Zhe was clearly unwilling to give up and asked again:

”We have five biological bases in Myanmar with thousands of premium test subjects; are there truly none that fit?”

”I had already accessed the internal genetic database of Myanmar earlier, and I came up empty-handed as well.”

”Damn it!”

”Now we’re in big trouble!”

”On one side is Young Master William, and on the other is Qin Changfeng; both are people we cannot afford to offend!”

Hearing Director Su Zhe’s swearing, a sharp glint flashed in Dr. Aila’s eyes.

”Director Su, it seems to me that Qin Ling has a natural enthusiasm for genetic experiments. Why don’t we ask for his opinion?”

”If he agrees to it himself, then Qin Changfeng will have no reason to hold us accountable.”

”Oh—Dr. Aila, that’s a very good suggestion!”

Director Su Zhe’s sinister eyes suddenly brightened, and he said to the burly man standing next to him,

”Open the gate to the underground storage!”

”Yes!”

Rumble.

The five or six-meter-high, heavy alloy gate rose.

Director Su Zhe, Dr. Aila, and the others walked straight inside.

A direct elevator started up.

About twenty seconds later.

The group arrived at the core underground base.

This was a five-hundred-square-meter underground laboratory, where more than a dozen biological researchers in white lab coats were busy working back and forth.

”Director Su, Qin Ling is in this ’Genetic Modification Room’.”

”Let’s go, let’s go meet Qin Changfeng’s son.”

Seeing Director Su Zhe nod, Dr. Aila used fingerprint and iris authentication to open the room’s white alloy door and pushed it open to enter.

On the pristine white hospital bed, Qin Ling had already woken up.

He was lying on the head of the bed with his arms behind his head, looking calmly at the ceiling, seemingly lost in thought.

”You must be Old Qin’s son, ’Qin Ling,’ right? You have a sturdy build and look quite talented.”

Director Su Zhe’s fierce expression vanished, and he smiled very amiably at Qin Ling, who had turned his head to look at him:

”Since you’ve come to Uncle Su’s territory, why didn’t you give me a heads-up so I could have my people treat you properly?”

”Oh, it’s Uncle Su. Please, have a seat... Hiss.”

Qin Ling wanted to get up, but he discovered that the injuries on his body had not yet healed, and he couldn’t help but grimace.

This was the first time Qin Ling had met Director Su Zhe; he had only heard his father mention before that this man was a ruthless executioner.

Of course, he didn’t show any strange expression on his face and acted very enthusiastically.

After all, this was someone else’s territory; if he were too arrogant, something bad might happen.

”Little Ling, you don’t need to get up. Just lie down and chat with me.”

Director Su Zhe waved his hand with a smile on his face.

Then, he sat on a chair and said to Qin Ling: ”Little Ling, how did you get these injuries? They don’t look like they were left over from a biological experiment, right?”

”Uncle Su guessed correctly. When I was imprisoned in the Guangnan prison, someone took my bone marrow genes!”

”If it hadn’t been for the timely rescue by my father’s subordinates, I would have died in prison long ago.”

As Qin Ling pointed to his thigh, which was missing flesh, and spoke calmly, a flash of intense hatred passed through his eyes.

”—That’s impossible, right?” Director Su Zhe said, somewhat surprised:

”You are Qin Changfeng’s son; it’s impossible that they didn’t know. Yet they actually laid hands on you?”

”Have those guys gone mad? Do they no longer need the power of our sect?!”

”I’m not too sure about the specifics.”

”At first, I thought they wanted to use me to threaten my father into showing up, but a few days later, they seemed like different people and attacked me without the slightest hesitation.”

”They extracted your bone marrow genes... Could it be that they are desperate to obtain the genetic mutation data from your body?”

The moment the thought emerged, Director Su Zhe immediately shook his head to deny it:

”That shouldn’t be it. Your father’s genetic modification on you hasn’t succeeded yet; even if they obtained the key data, what good would it do them?”

”Besides, those Families were just waiting to reap the benefits. Once your modification succeeded, couldn’t they have just followed suit? Why would they destroy their own Foundation?”

Director Su Zhe was completely baffled.

If he hadn’t seen Qin Ling’s thigh, which was devoid of any flesh, and heard it from his own mouth, he would have absolutely thought someone was joking!

If this matter were true, it would bring about a terrifying consequence—

From now on, their sect would not only be unable to set foot even half a step into the Eastern territory, but they might even face retaliation from other Eastern Families!

The behavior of those great Families who originally cooperated with their sect was extremely strange, as if they were ’possessed by ghosts,’ revealing an incomprehensible sense of weirdness everywhere!

”Thinking about this so much is useless. I have already sent my subordinates to investigate in Yanjing in secret. I think it won’t be long before we know why those Families suddenly changed their stance.”

Qin Ling shook his head.

Director Su Zhe believed that this matter needed to be treated with caution, and after going down, he must communicate with the higher-ups in the sect.

They were currently in the northern part of Myanmar, not far from the Eastern border. If someone were to attack in secret, they could really be wiped out in one go!

Putting his thoughts aside, Director Su Zhe’s expression became grave as he looked at Qin Ling and said:

”Little Ling, Uncle Su won’t beat around the bush with you. I came over here because there is one more thing I want to discuss with you.”

”It’s like this: Duke ’Young Master William’ of the British Empire has partnered with some United States financial groups to invest in a top-secret experiment.

We are now required to prepare an excellent test subject to participate in this experiment.

Dr. Aila noticed that your genetic data perfectly meets the requirements. I wonder if you would like to participate?”

Director Su Zhe appeared very serious and guaranteed:

”Little Ling, rest assured, whether you participate or not, I will respect your choice!”

Qin Ling did not reply immediately. He looked at Director Su Zhe with eyes as calm as water and asked: ”What is the content of the top-secret experiment?”

”... Young Master William and the others want to create a real—Artificial Intelligence!”

This was originally confidential information that shouldn’t even be leaked by half a percent, but thinking of Qin Ling’s identity, Director Su Zhe thought about it for a moment and then slowly spoke it out:

”The experimental plan is: using the genetic adaptability of an excellent test subject, we will attempt to upload consciousness to a terminal server and perform Fusion with an Advanced large model to form the God of the Network—Artificial Intelligence!”

”Hiss!” After hearing this, Qin Ling gasped.

The vision of these guys was so grand; it sounded like it had a high probability of success!

”Little Ling, this is some information about the top-secret experiment. Take a look.”

Seeing Qin Ling hesitate, Director Su Zhe immediately took a stack of materials handed over by a bodyguard and placed them on the head of the pristine white hospital bed.

Qin Ling picked them up and read them for a long time.

He weighed the pros and cons and estimated the success rate of the experiment, only to find that his original assumptions had been somewhat naive—the survival rate of this top-secret experiment was less than ten percent!!

This wasn’t an experiment; it was a death trap where one had a nine-in-ten chance of dying!

At this moment, he couldn’t help but recall some strange remarks his father had made to him in private half a year ago.

The purpose of his participation in the genetic modification was to take part in a ”high-stakes gamble”!

If he won, he would become the world’s ”supreme Dominator”!

If he lost...
