Chapter 2634: Chapter 2634: Contact Her Connection

”I may not know the names of these plants, but I certainly know quality when I see it.” Grandpa Mu replied, slowly looking around at the pristine rows of medicinal plants. ”This place does not feel like a greenhouse at all. It feels more like a sanctuary.”

”I have been experimenting with a new nutrient-rich irrigation system. It mimics the natural mineral composition found in the Spirit Mountains. It seems that the herbs are responding quite well to it.” Yu Qi explained.

In truth, it was also because of the lake water from Sere. Since she was already here, she planned to add some of that lake water into the irrigation tank later.

”Responding well? They’re practically singing!” Grandpa Tang laughed heartily, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. ”You must let me stay here for a few days, Yu Qi. I want to closely study the growth patterns of these silver-leafed varieties.”

”You may stay... but only for a short period of time. You must also remember to go back and eat on time.” Yu Qi said, her tone carrying a hint of concern.

”Yes... yes...” Grandpa Tang agreed absentmindedly, clearly not paying full attention.

”Grandpa sometimes forgets to eat when he becomes fully immersed in his research.” Yu Qi complained lightly to Grandpa Mu.

Grandpa Mu laughed in response. He was exactly the same. Once absorbed in his work, he would forget everything else around him, including time itself.

”You are really here.” Song Tai said.

He had heard from Jung Lian about Yu Qi’s arrival earlier.

”Oh... Brother Tai...” Yu Qi greeted Song Tai warmly. ”You are looking good.”

”Hmm... You too.” Song Tai replied with a small smile.

”You are Song Nan’s nephew, right?” Grandpa Tang chimed in.

”Yes.” Song Tai nodded in confirmation.

”I heard you are a twin. Where is the other one?” Grandpa Tang asked.

”Brother Tao is currently working at Qi Qi Skincare in the R&D Department, while Brother Tai here oversees this greenhouse.” Yu Qi explained clearly.

”I see.” Grandpa Tang nodded.

”I see. I heard about the earlier incident. I didn’t expect that she would dare to talk to you like that.” Song Tai said, his tone slightly displeased.

”It’s good that it happened to me. Please check if the same kind of incident has happened to other visitors as well.” Yu Qi stated calmly.

”Yes. I will check on that.” Song Tai nodded seriously.

Yu Qi suddenly received a call. She looked at the name that appeared on the screen, ’Jung Lian’. She immediately picked up the call without hesitation.

”Yes?” Yu Qi answered.

”Miss Yu Qi... I have processed the termination for Chen Meili as requested. However, she is refusing to leave the greenhouse and is demanding to speak with her connection at the HQ. Should we call the police?” Jung Lian asked Yu Qi’s opinion.

”Oh... her connection at HQ?” Yu Qi was slightly surprised.

”Yes.” Jung Lian confirmed.

”Let her call her connection. It would be even better if that connection could come here personally. I also want to see how strong her connection is in the company compared to mine.” Yu Qi chuckled softly.

”Yes.” Jung Lian responded before ending the call.

After finishing the call with Yu Qi, Jung Lian put away his phone and turned to Chen Meili.

”Miss Chen, you may contact your connection. It would be even better if they could come here in person.” Jung Lian said calmly.

”Fine... I will bring him here.” Chen Meili said through gritted teeth.

”Well, you may come again tomorrow with your connection. As for now, please leave.” Jung Lian signalled toward the door, indicating for Chen Meili to exit.

Chen Meili stood up in anger. She slammed the door forcefully, causing the decoration beside it to shake violently before falling to the ground with a loud sound.

Chen Meili then took out her phone and quickly dialled her connection.

”Uncle... I have been bullied.” Chen Meili complained in a pitiful tone.

It seemed that her connection was her uncle, Chen Song, who had been working at the HQ of QinYue Group.

”What happened?” Chen Song asked with concern.

”I made a small mistake, and they want to fire me right away.” Chen Meili said.

However, Chen Meili deliberately did not mention what kind of mistake she had actually made.

”What? How dare they fire someone just like that?” Chen Song became furious the moment he heard this.

He also did not bother to ask what kind of mistake his niece had made and immediately assumed that she had been treated unfairly.

”I told them that I knew someone from the HQ, but they told me to let you come instead.” Chen Meili stated.

”Fine... fine... I will come tomorrow and demand justice for you.” Chen Song said firmly.

”Thank you, Uncle. You always treat me so nicely.” Chen Meili said sweetly.

”You’re welcome. You are my niece. Of course, I am going to treat you well.” Chen Song replied without hesitation.

Back in the greenhouse, Yu Qi glanced at the time. It was already about lunchtime.

”Let’s go and have lunch.” Yu Qi suggested.

”Sure.” Grandpa Mu immediately agreed without any hesitation.

”I want to stay here.” Grandpa Tang said stubbornly.

”Grandpa, you promised me earlier that you would eat on time.” Yu Qi reminded him patiently.

”Erk!” Grandpa Tang looked away awkwardly.

”Come and eat first.” Yu Qi insisted.

”Fine... fine...” Grandpa Tang finally relented.

The greenhouse had its own cafeteria inside, so the workers did not need to go out and search for food. The meals provided were well-balanced and delicious, and the menu changed every day. Because of this, the workers would not feel bored eating the same dishes repeatedly.
