Global Evolution: I Create Items in the Apocalypse and Become a God

Chapter 12: Encountering a Rat Alien in the BasementChapter 12: Encountering a Rat Alien in the Basement
Chu Anqin left the small commercial street feeling depressed.

I came out and not only did I find nothing, I was almost beaten up.

Most importantly, he didn’t find any gunpowder in the store and he suddenly lost his direction.

Even the store at the door didn’t have any gunpowder, so we could only take our chances.

Chu Anqin looked at a group of buildings in the eastern district, wondering whether he should go over and search.

”Forget it, let’s finish searching the remaining buildings in the West District today.”

He had searched most of the buildings in the West End, and it didn’t take long to clear the remaining buildings.

”Alas, I came out too late. Everything edible and useful has already been taken away.”

After going down several buildings, still nothing was found.

Chu Anqin came out of a building covered in dust. There were no more buildings to search in the west district.

”go home!”

I walked through the buildings, used the structures, and jogged all the way back to Building 7.

”My boy, you are finally back.”

Chu Anqin kept his head down when he suddenly heard a familiar voice.

He looked up and saw that it was Wang Dongfu and his daughter.

”Brother Wang, why are you still here?”

He thought Wang Dongfu had been waiting until now, and how come Wang Dongfu’s daughter came here?

Wang Dongfu was very excited and pulled his daughter to Chu Anqin:
”Young man, don’t you want fireworks? My daughter Xiaoya has fireworks.”

When Chu Anqin heard about the fireworks, his eyelids suddenly lifted up, and he stared at the girl blankly and asked, ”Do you have fireworks? Where are they?”

His heart beat faster. It was true that if the east was dark, the west would be bright, and if the south was dark, the north would be bright.

For him, Wang Dongfu and the girl were a timely help.

Seeing his anxious look, the girl took a few steps back in fear.

Wang Dongfu was anxious to return the favor of the biscuits, so he urged the girl, ”Hey, Xiaoya, tell me quickly.”

”In the warehouse in my basement.”

When Wang Dongfu heard this, his face immediately darkened. He didn’t expect that the fireworks Xiaoya mentioned were in the basement warehouse.

Xiaoya added: ”I bought a lot of fireworks with my classmates at the time, but we hid them in the underground warehouse for fear that you would find them.”

Chu Anqin didn’t understand what was going on, and said excitedly: ”Let’s go get it now, I’ll exchange it with you for food!”

Finally found the gunpowder, how could he not be anxious!

However, when he saw the expressions of the girl and Wang Dongfu, he suddenly realized that something was wrong.

”What’s wrong? What’s the problem?”

Wang Dongfu made a bitter face and stammered, ”Young man, you don’t know yet, you can’t go to the basement.”

”Why can’t I go? Is there a ghost?”

”Oh, no, there are no ghosts, but there are things there that are scarier than ghosts.”

”What could be scarier than a ghost?”

Wang Dongfu sighed repeatedly and whispered, ”The basement has been occupied by those crazy rats. Going down there will mean death.”

Chu Anqin’s heart sank suddenly.

Crazy mouse?

Alien species?

”Brother Wang, how many crazy mice are there?”

This was the only place where he knew about gunpowder, so he had to find a way to try it.

He thought he could take the risk if there weren’t many mad rats.

”A lot. There are often sounds of rats gnawing at things in the basement, and there are also mad rats coming up from the basement at night.

Young man, let’s just give up. There’s no need to die for useless fireworks.”

Chu Anqin was struggling internally. He had been choked by gunpowder for a long time and his food supply was decreasing.

”Brother Wang, take me to have a look.”

Wang Dongfu looked at the determination on Chu Anqin’s face, and then thought of the three cookies, and nodded, ”Okay, let’s take a look first.”

Chu Anqin took all his equipment and followed the man and the girl to Building 8.

The entrance to the basement was behind the corridor on the first floor. Chu Anqin stared at the dark basement entrance, not knowing what he was thinking.

”Brother Wang, how far is your warehouse from the entrance?”

”It’s not far. It’s the second room from the entrance.”

Chu Anqin nodded and said, ”Okay, do you have the key?”

When Wang Dongfu heard this, he realized that Chu Anqin was going to go down, and hurriedly dissuaded him: ”Young man, you can’t go down.”

”Brother Wang, give me the key. Here are two compressed biscuits. If there are really fireworks inside, I will give you two more compressed biscuits.” Chu Anqin has thought it through. He had no power, no influence, and no background in the previous world. He had been mediocre for more than 20 years. In this life, he had a strange panel. He had to be brave for once and achieve some results.

As the saying goes, the timid will die of starvation, while the bold will die of gluttony.

It is true that there are some strange species of rats in the basement, but maybe you are the one destined to be there and you just can’t meet them.

”Okay, put the cookies away first, I’ll go down with you.”

Wang Dongfu originally wanted to repay the kindness of the three biscuits with fireworks, but now, not only has he not repaid the kindness, but he might also kill Chu Anqin. He is uneasy and cannot do it.

Moreover, if two people go down, they can have someone to look after them, and they can provide support if they really encounter those rats.

”Brother Wang, you!”

Chu Anqin felt grateful. He didn’t expect that the man in front of him was so righteous. He wanted to accompany him even though he knew he might lose his life if he went down.

”Xiaoya, go home first and lock the door. No matter who knocks, don’t open it. Wait for Dad to come back.”

”dad!”

Tears welled up in Xiaoya’s eyes. She wanted to persuade her father not to be impulsive, but she knew that her father was stubborn and it was difficult for him to change his decision, especially in front of outsiders.

”Don’t worry, my dad has been into the sewers before when he was doing plumbing and electrical work. This is nothing.”

After Wang Dongfu finished speaking, he took the lead, holding the handrail in the corridor, leaning against the wall, and walked towards the darkness step by step.

Chu Anqin hurriedly followed and handed Wang Dongfu a pry tool.

It is true that the pry tool is a tool for prying open doors, but it is also quite powerful when knocking, especially in a small space like a basement, where it is more useful than a metal gun.

Xiaoya wanted to follow him down, but when she saw the pitch-black entrance, her legs felt like they were filled with cement and she couldn’t move.

The two of them put one hand on the handrail and went down the stairs one step at a time.

There were more than a dozen steps and the two of them were walking on thin ice.

Finally we got to the bottom. It was cold, damp, and dark, and the air was filled with an alien stench.

Wang Dongfu pointed to a door, which was the second door from the entrance.

The basement was very dark, and Chu Anqin could only force Wang Dongfu to point the way.

From the depths of darkness, the sound of gnawing could be heard from time to time, as well as the heavy and irregular breathing of two people.

The two stood at the entrance, observed for about a minute, and then moved again, heading towards the second door.

Leaning against the warehouse door, Wang Dongfu reached for the key.

clang!

The keys made a sharp sound when they clashed.

Chu Anqin was frightened and broke out in a cold sweat, secretly anxious.

But the basement was too dark, and Wang Dongfu tried several times but failed to find the keyhole.

”Brother Wang, hurry up!”

The sound in the depths of the darkness suddenly grew louder, as if something was running towards them.

In just a moment, pairs of scarlet eyes appeared from the darkness.

It was a species of rat, just two or three meters away from them!
Click!

At the critical moment, Wang Dongfu finally inserted the key, pushed the door open, and the two of them went in together and quickly closed the door.

Whoosh!

Both of them were breathing heavily.

It was so thrilling just now. If they were half a second slower, they would have been surrounded by those rat aliens.

Chu Anqin looked around the small warehouse. It was dimly lit and about 15 square meters in size. There was an iron rack on one side with a lot of things piled on it.

creak!

creak!

Before he could look for fireworks, he heard the sound of rats gnawing at the iron gate outside.

”Oh no! Rats are gnawing at the iron door!”

The two were horrified. The rats’ teeth were so terrifying that they could even chew through iron doors.

”Brother Wang, help me find it quickly, the iron gate won’t hold it for long!”

Chu Anqin rushed to the shelf and searched quickly.

The rat aliens blocked the way out and now they have nowhere to escape.

The only hope is to find fireworks, make bullets, and use a rapid-fire pistol to break out.

Although Wang Dongfu didn’t understand why Chu Anqin insisted on looking for fireworks, he was at a loss for a moment and could only follow Chu Anqin in searching.

There were a lot of miscellaneous items on the shelves and the light in the warehouse was dim. The two men were rummaging around frantically, their backs were sweaty and they were extremely anxious.

The noise outside the door was getting louder and louder. The rats were gnawing at the iron door at a rapid speed and were about to break in.

”found it!”
