Global Evolution: I Create Items in the Apocalypse and Become a God

Chapter 11 Searching the StoreChapter 11 Searching the Store

Chu Anqin stretched his body, stretched his muscles, ate a piece of compressed biscuit, and felt refreshed.

He walked over to the sofa and fiddled with the leaves of the spider plant.

After a few days of watering, the yellow leaves on the spider plant have fallen off and new shoots have grown.

”Hey, why does this leaf have a red stem?”

He leaned in closer to take a look and confirmed that he was not seeing things; the veins were very thin and could not be seen without careful observation.

”strangeness.”

Chu Anqin fiddled with other leaves again, but did not see the red stems again.

”Forget it, let’s get down to business.”

He stood up and sorted out his equipment.

”Bring both prying tools, a metal spear, a rapid-fire pistol, and spirit-boosting wine.”

These are his equipment and combat power enhancements.

He went to the kitchen and hid the bag of rice weighing more than a pound in the innermost part of the cupboard to prevent anyone from sneaking in when he was not at home.

I touched the compressed biscuits and high-energy rations stored close to me, and everything was ready, ready to go out!

”Going up and down the stairs is a good way to exercise.”

Chu Anqin went downstairs quickly. Thanks to the high-intensity search in the past few days, his legs and feet had become stronger.

Not only are my legs and feet stronger, but my lung capacity has also increased a lot.

He ran downstairs without even breathing hard.

”Well, why are you here?”

As soon as Chu Anqin came out of the stairs, he saw the man.

The man smiled and said immediately when he saw Chu Anqin coming down:
”Young man, I guess you live in this building.”

”Is something wrong?”

Chu Anqin had a bad feeling. Could it be that because he had given them food, they thought I had a lot of food and were relying on me?
The man wiped his hands on his clothes and made a handshake gesture: ”Thank you for the cookies. My daughter likes them very much.”

”Oh.”

Chu Anqin politely extended his right hand and touched his palm with the man’s.

”My name is Wang Dongfu, and I used to be a plumber.”

A look of displeasure flashed across Chu Anqin’s face. Why were they still chatting? He still had to go find gunpowder.

”Brother Wang, what can I do for you? If not, I’ll leave!”

Wang Dongfu’s expression tightened, and he said, ”Young man, is there anything I can help you with? It’s very dangerous outside, don’t run around!”

From Chu Anqin’s outfit, one could tell at a glance that he was going out to search for supplies.

”Need not!”

Chu Anqin didn’t want to waste time. Although this man was honest and generous, he was not here to make friends.

Moreover, the other party had a depressed expression and obviously had something to say.

He didn’t want to hear the other party asking for cookies, otherwise the man’s image in his mind would plummet.

”Um. Yesterday’s cookies. I don’t have anything valuable to exchange with you.”

”What, Brother Wang, do you still want it?” Chu Anqin was a little impatient.

”No, no, no.” Wang Dongfu waved his hands and hurriedly took something out of his arms.

Chu Anqin looked closely and found that they were actually two compressed biscuits and a gold necklace.

Wang Dongfu held two things in his hands and said:

”My daughter ate one, and I will return the remaining two to you. Then this gold necklace will be the payment for the cookie my daughter ate.”

The corner of Chu Anqin’s mouth twitched. This man is too honest. In this kind of world, why would he care about human relationships?

He reached out and picked up the gold necklace, put it in his pocket, and said in a deep voice: ”One necklace for three cookies, that’s it!”

Even though the necklace is made of gold, in this doomsday, it is no different from scrap iron, and cannot be compared with food.

But Chu Anqin knew that if he didn’t take the thing, the man would definitely try to pull it again.

The man was a little anxious and a little unwilling to give up. He wanted to return the remaining two cookies to Chu Anqin: ”No, no!”

Chu Anqin frowned. Standing here and pulling was really not a good place.

”How about this, Brother Wang, take these two cookies first. I have something to ask you.”

When the man heard this, his eyes flashed with joy, and he asked hurriedly, ”What’s the matter?”

”Do you know where to find fireworks?” Chu Anqin tried to ask, but didn’t hold out much hope.

”Fireworks? I remember the store at the entrance to the community selling fireworks, but I’ve never seen them anywhere else.”

”Okay, thank you!” Wang Dongfu had also seen fireworks for sale at the convenience store at the door, so he really wanted to make a trip there.

It’s close to the exit of the community, and there are often mad animals wandering around there, as well as other survivors, so the risk factor is quite high.

”Brother Wang, you go back first. If you find fireworks, I’ll exchange them for biscuits!”

After saying that, he left in one direction without caring about Wang Dongfu.

Wang Dongfu wanted to catch up, but Chu Anqin ran very fast and disappeared from his sight in a short while.

”It took so long to get downstairs. It’s a bad start.”

Chu Anqin walked through the buildings and ran towards the entrance of the community.

The small shopping street at the entrance of the community is the main road dividing the east and west districts.

There are more than a dozen shops on both sides of the main road, including noodle shops, steamed bun shops, convenience stores, barber shops, hardware stores, etc.

Chu Anqin hid behind a building and observed the situation on the shopping street.

There were a lot of cars on the main road, and some of them were completely black, as if there had been a fire.

He stuck close to the building and approached the street on the left, and had a clear view of the shops opposite.

There were traces of fire in front of twelve or thirteen shops. The roller shutters of several shops near the entrance had been removed, and the interior was dark and difficult to see clearly.

”My goodness, this can no longer be called zero-dollar shopping, it’s pure looting and burning!”

Looking at several shops near him, the rolling shutter doors were not removed, but a big hole was drilled in them. Rust could be vaguely seen on the edge of the hole, which must have been there for a long time.

Chu Anqin’s eyes moved quickly, and his heart suddenly skipped a beat. He saw the small shop across the street. The signboard had fallen off, and the rolling door was black from being burned, with a big hole in it. It was obvious that it had been visited.

”That’s not good.”

He looked at the shops on this street. Due to limited vision, he could only see the situation of a few nearby shops, which also looked like they had been robbed.

The fate of this small commercial street is much worse than that of the residential houses in the community.

Chu Anqin was anxious, as he remembered there was a small shop in the middle of the street.

He glanced around, and with the help of abandoned obstacles, he moved quickly towards the center.

By the time he reached the store on this street, his heart had sunk to the bottom.

There was a human corpse and a corpse of some unknown animal at the entrance of the convenience store. Both corpses were black and charred, probably because of fire.

Chu Anqin hid in a corner of the wall and looked inside the store.

Looking through the hole in the rolling door, the small shop of about 20 to 30 square meters was dark and gloomy.

He was a little hesitant about whether to go in, as the dark and unknown environment always made people feel scared.

”Well, now that you’re here, you’re afraid of wolves in front and tigers behind. You won’t accomplish anything!”

Chu Anqin gave himself a shot of cardiac stimulant, gripped the metal spear tightly, and walked in.

However, the door was too small and the metal spear was two meters long, so he could only hold the metal spear vertically to enter.

Only after he entered did he see clearly that there was nothing inside. There were only empty shelves and the floor was littered with plastic bottles, glass pieces, broken paper and the like.

It seems to have been sold out.

At the same time, in a shop on the opposite street, three people were hiding in a dark corner, their eyes fixed on Chu Anqin.

Chu Anqin searched for several minutes but found nothing.

”Let’s go to the other side and have a look.” He still didn’t give up.

Came out of the canteen and ran towards the opposite side.

However, when he moved to the middle of the main road, three large rocks flew towards him.

”do not come!”

A man’s voice sounded, warning him not to go over.

Chu Anqin was startled and looked in the direction of the voice. Three people came out of a shop opposite, each holding a weapon and a stone in their hands.

He reached into his pocket and grabbed the rapid-fire pistol.

I am alone and there are three people on the opposite side. It seems I have to rely on the pistol to scare them again.

Just as he was hesitating whether to use his rapid-fire pistol to scare the enemy, three large stones were thrown at him.

”Get out of here now, or I’ll smash you to death!” the warning came again.

Chu Anqin sighed. Judging from the opponent’s posture, he should not be able to fool him with a rapid-fire pistol.

He glanced at the miserable state of the convenience store across the street and became more and more determined to back out.

”The other side has probably been robbed too, there’s no need to take the risk.”

Chu Anqin raised a hand to indicate that he had no ill intentions: ”Don’t throw it away, I’ll leave now.”

If you don’t leave now, we’re going to have real fighting.
