Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 594: Chapter 594: No Need to Stand on Ceremony Between Us

When the time was up, Yunyi swiftly removed the silver needles, ”Take the Pills home, take one in the morning and one in the evening. Come back in three days for the second acupuncture session, and I’ll adjust the dosage as needed.”

The woman was very straightforward, she took the prescription Yunyi gave her, paid for the medicine, and left.

Yunyi had been observing her from the shadows, and only after noticing nothing unusual did she feel at ease.

She knew that the police must have arranged for someone to secretly monitor her, otherwise, Jingrui wouldn’t have said those things, ensuring she could move around these days was definitely meant to lure the snake out of its hole.

So, her task was just to make sure she could walk around for these three days, that’s all.

After the woman left, Yunyi helped treat a few more patients before it was time to get off work.

Kong Jiaqiao came over, ”Doctor Chu, you’re not eating in the cafeteria today, right? Your fiancé treats you really well, he cooks for you whenever he comes over, I’m so envious.”

Yunyi chuckled, ”Then you should hurry and find someone too, nurture them well, and they might be just as considerate.”

Kong Jiaqiao blushed, ”I won’t talk to you anymore, I’m going to the cafeteria to get food.”

Saying that, she dashed away with her lunchbox and quickly disappeared.

When Yunyi returned to the small courtyard, Huo Jingrui had already finished cooking and even made porridge with Hongzao and rice for her.

Seeing her come in, he called out with a smile, ”I’ve poured you warm water, wash your hands first, then we can eat.”

Seeing the steamer on the stove reminded her that she had put dough in a basin the day before but forgot about it, and this guy had gone ahead and steamed it.

Originally, she had planned to steam it as dry food for her master and the others. Now it’s not needed. These two steamers of dry food are enough for her for many days. She wondered where her master and the others were now.

Huo Jingrui saw her staring at the steamer absent-mindedly, ”I saw the dough you made was ready, so I went ahead and steamed some sweet triangles and rolls for you, with some left over for a few steamed buns.”

Yunyi didn’t wash her hands but walked over to Huo Jingrui and hugged him, ”I originally planned to steam them and send them to my master and the others, but now it’s not necessary.”

Huo Jingrui lovingly patted her head, ”I know you miss them, but it’s good they went back to Beijing. Elder Yuan can make use of his expertise, and Zining can go to school like a normal child and won’t have to endure others’ attitudes. We’ll see them often when we return to Beijing, too.

By the way, I’ve told my master that they should stay in my courtyard first when they get back. After the Yuan Family’s courtyard is renovated, they can move there, it’s not far away, and the master can frequently check on the renovation progress.”

Yunyi felt a bit emotional and rubbed against Jingrui’s chest but still said, ”Thank you.”

Huo Jingrui pulled her out of his embrace, pinched her nose, ”There’s no need for thank yous between us, got it?”

Yunyi nodded repeatedly, ”Mmm, mmm, mmm, I understand, I won’t be polite with you anymore, I’ll leave everything to you and just enjoy myself.”

Huo Jingrui was amused by her expression, ”Yes, that’s exactly right, I’m more than happy to serve you.”

They talked and laughed while he took her to wash her hands, then brought out the dishes and pancakes, ”I’ve already scooped out the porridge to cool a bit, you can drink it later. Have a piece of pancake first, and tell me if my pancake-making skills have gotten rusty.”

Yunyi took the pancake Jingrui handed her, ”Looks good.”

She took a small bite, ”Mmm, it’s the taste I wanted.”

Hearing Yunyi say that, Huo Jingrui’s lips curved, ”As long as you like it, have more.”

Seeing Yunyi enjoying her food, he smilingly picked up a piece and ate with her.

But what Yunyi didn’t expect was, just after they finished eating and were about to clean up, they heard an annoying sound.

Luckily, she had already finished eating, otherwise, she might have lost her appetite.

Seeing someone already in the courtyard, Yunyi spoke up, ”Stop, who let you in?”

Wenjuan saw Yunyi come out and glanced at the man standing behind her, deliberately putting on a wronged expression, ”I came to see you for something, saw the door open, so I came in.”

She even sneaked a peek at Huo Jingrui as she said this.

This made Yunyi dislike her even more, ”We have nothing to say to each other, please leave and don’t test my patience.”

Wenjuan opened her mouth to say something but didn’t, and when she tried to glance again at Huo Jingrui, an icy voice rang out, ”You don’t want those eyes anymore?”
