Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 593: Chapter 593: I’ve Been Waiting for That Day

Coming out of the consultation room, she went straight out of the clinic and returned to the small courtyard in the back.

Upon entering, she saw Huo Jingrui kneading dough: ”Are you planning to make noodles?”

Huo Jingrui shook his head: ”No, I’m making pancakes for you.”

Hearing this, Yunyi felt a wave of emotion in her heart. No matter in which lifetime, Huo Jingrui always hated making pancakes. The dough is softer than noodle dough, it sticks to your hands, and afterwards, your hands are covered in oil.

He’s someone with a cleanliness obsession. When he first learned to make pancakes, his eyebrows nearly knitted together.

But for her and the kids to enjoy various pancakes in that space, he patiently learned over and over again. Finally, heaven didn’t disappoint the persistent. Thinking of past lifetimes, Yunyi couldn’t help but stand there dazed, recalling various scenes from before, and her nose tingled, with tears forming in her eyes.

When Huo Jingrui looked up and saw her like this, he walked over to her with dough-covered hands: ”What’s wrong, why are you crying?”

He pulled her into his arms with his elbow: ”Someone bullied you?”

Upon hearing this, Yunyi’s tears fell even more as she reached out to hug Huo Jingrui’s waist: ”Jingrui, I miss them.”

Huo Jingrui’s body stiffened. He knew who Yunyi meant by ’them’: ”They’ll be fine, we’ll keep them in our hearts and focus on making the present good. I’ll take good care of you.”

Thinking of something, Yunyi suddenly said: ”Alright, when I turn eighteen, let’s get our marriage certificate. After that, we can’t just have as many children as we want.”

She didn’t mention that in a few years, policies will come down to start implementing family planning. She absolutely wants to have several children before then, treating them like those kids, loving them earnestly.

Huo Jingrui held her tightly, his heartbeat racing: ”Okay, I’ve been looking forward to that day.”

He was so excited he wanted to lift her up, but both his hands were covered in dough, afraid of getting it on her clothes, so he just planted a firm kiss on her forehead: ”I can’t wait for that day to come sooner.”

Yunyi leaned into his arms, her face burning: ”I feel the same.”

After some tender moments, Yunyi remembered her actual purpose of coming back: ”I’ve already done one acupuncture session for her and used my special medicine. I’ll tell her to come back in three days for acupuncture again. I want to ask you, is this timeline adequate?”

Huo Jingrui nodded: ”It should be enough. Now I just want to know what the situation with her leg will be like in the coming days?”

After all, according to the information they’ve received, every time there’s contact with the higher-ups, this woman acts independently; even her partner can’t accompany her. So it’s crucial to ensure she can walk in the coming days.

Yunyi nodded: ”With my medicine, short distances should be no problem, even for somewhat longer distances, as long as her willpower is strong, she might just have to endure some pain but should be able to manage. However, after that, her gout will likely become more severe.”

Huo Jingrui was relieved to hear this, it was sufficient.

After finishing the conversation, Yunyi prepared to return to the clinic, as it was nearly time to remove the needles.

Yunyi returned to the consultation room, and seeing there was some time left, started chatting again: ”It’s just you coming today, where’s your son, why isn’t he accompanying you?”

The woman, possibly due to the acupuncture, felt some relief from the pain, and replied with her eyes closed: ”He’s busy for the next few days and can’t afford to accompany me.”

Yunyi pretended to be concerned: ”Next time you come, it’s best if someone accompanies you, in this condition, you can’t go without someone taking care of you.”

The woman opened her eyes: ”Getting old, with poor health, I’m at an age where people find me bothersome.”

Yunyi sneered internally. Others might not see it, but she couldn’t fool herself. This woman is harsh on herself; she definitely treated her skin before coming.

It seems she frequently uses that stuff to change her look. Her gout is probably linked to that; what a self-inflicted disaster.

Huo Jingrui hasn’t had the chance to explain the true relationship between this so-called mother and son to Yunyi.

So Yunyi didn’t truly understand the woman’s words. If she knew their real relationship, she would surely guess why the woman said that.

However, it wasn’t important; these people were like autumn grasshoppers, they wouldn’t be able to jump around for long.
