Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 552: Chapter 552: Here He Comes

Yunyi listened to Ye Wenhui’s words: ”Then you still need to confirm with him whether he ever clarified his relationship with Zhong Liyuan before, if they have really broken up now, and then think about whether you want to date him. Just don’t get involved without knowing clearly.”

Although it seems a bit too much to manage, dating is not a trivial matter, and you can’t just look at the surface. Some matters really need confirmation; otherwise, someone might come out later and say you interfered in someone else’s relationship.

Maybe because I’ve lived in the modern world, seen all those gossip stories, and thought too much, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Ye Wenhui knew Yunyi had her best interests at heart: ”I know, I was planning to ask anyway, but someone came looking for him before I got the chance.”

Each having drunk a cup of Malt Essence, their bodies warmed up. Yunyi stood up: ”Let’s not bother going to the canteen for dinner tonight; let’s eat here. Jingrui brought some meat, and I’ll make you sweet and sour pork today.”

Ye Wenhui stood up with a cheer and hugged Yunyi: ”You’re the best to me, after all. The canteen’s been serving nothing but cabbage and radishes these days. I was just about to ask if they’re planning to grow new potatoes over there or maybe just change up the menu.”

Yunyi laughed: ”It’s because our Agricultural Reclamation Group had a bumper harvest of cabbages and radishes, so we have to eat them up.”

Ye Wenhui pouted: ”But they haven’t changed anything for half a month. At least in the morning, they give us a few soybeans with the salted radishes to eat with our congee. It’s still bearable.

But for lunch and dinner, it’s always radish stew with cabbage, not even a drop of oil. If it weren’t a bit salty, it really wouldn’t go down.”

Listening to her chatter, Yunyi went into the kitchen, took out some meat, and also grabbed three eggs, soaking some autumn-dried string beans, planning to stir-fry them later.

The main course would be the previously steamed mixed-grain rice, which could be quickly steamed when boiling the porridge.

Ye Wenhui saw the millet Yunyi took out: ”Wow, where did the millet come from?”

Yunyi scooped out half a bowl: ”Brought by Jingrui.”

Ye Wenhui couldn’t help but look up at Yunyi: ”Your fiancé is really good to you. Every time he comes, he never comes empty-handed. He really thinks about what you want and need, making everyone envious.”

Yunyi didn’t refute and replied with a smile: ”He’s seven years older than me; if he doesn’t treat me well, what if I run away?”

After she said this, both of them laughed.

Ye Wenhui patted Yunyi’s arm: ”You really dare to say anything.”

Just as she finished speaking, they heard a male voice behind them: ”She’s right, so I have to perform well.”

Then Huo Jingrui squeezed past the unresponsive Ye Wenhui, walked to Yunyi’s side, and took the knife from her hand: ”You go do something else; I’ll cut the meat.”

Seeing the way the two interacted made Ye Wenhui even more envious: How nice, when could she also find such a considerate partner?

Ye Wenhui took the dried string beans Yunyi had taken out earlier and went to the side to boil water to soak them.

With Huo Jingrui’s help, dinner was ready quickly. But just as they set the table, they heard someone calling outside: ”Yunyi, is Wenhui at your place?”

Just hearing the voice, they knew it was Zheng Xuewen.

Yunyi smiled and looked at Ye Wenhui: ”Well, here he comes.”

Ye Wenhui’s face turned red instantly. She got up and walked outside: ”Coming.”

Huo Jingrui looked over with a questioning gaze: What’s going on?

Yunyi handed him a pair of chopsticks: ”Zheng Xuewen is pursuing my cousin, but my cousin hasn’t agreed yet. I guess he didn’t see her go to the canteen, so he came over to find her.”
