Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 742: Forgotten World, Cyria-229. Part-10.

”After we brought the angel to the altar, a big portal opened in front of the statue of the crown, and his body disappeared into it right away...”

”Since that day calamities have plagued our planet and have destroyed everything!”

The orc race, which was already thinly spread across the planet due to low populations in various tribes, began to face calamities when Yasna’s tribe sacrificed the so-called angel at the altar.

The half-orc tribe didn’t notice anything odd for several months until they found refugees that had their homes destroyed by powerful earthquakes, sandstorms, and meteor rains.

All these events seemed like extremely unlucky events that should usually only happen once every few decades, but for some reason, the entire planet became covered in these calamities everywhere!

It was almost as if those calamities were specifically attacking every creature that didn’t belong to the domain of miasmic corruption.

Animals, insects, monsters, etc. All beings that had mana in their bodies suddenly started facing insanely unlucky events, and the death toll crossed all limits in just a few months, bringing mass extinction to the planet.

”We have no idea if there are any other half-orc settlements still existing outside, but as far as we know... we are likely the last remaining half-orcs on this planet...”

Link also nodded his head at the chief’s words.

”Indeed, we travelled thousands of kilometers on your planet and didn’t find a single living creature outside until we reached this place...”

”We almost thought that this was a barren planet with no life on it and were about to leave...”

”Thankfully we didn’t leave early and found you all before that spear could destroy your settlement...”

Ignoring Link’s shameless acting, Lia asked a question that had been bugging her for a while.

”When exactly did you find that ’Angel’ in the desert... like in terms of years or days.”

At that question, the chief replied,

”Uh, I think two Cyria years...”

Lia didn’t know the specific number of days a normal Cyria-229 year had, but she had prediction abilities.

She glanced at a random string of destiny and used a little bit of its power to make a rough guess of things, and what she found was very intriguing.

Just as the planet’s name suggests, this solar system had more than 500 planets, and Cyria-229 was one of those many planets orbiting the five suns of this solar system.

The solar system was many times bigger than the solar system of Lia’s home world, and there were uncountable numbers of small and big asteroids everywhere in the entire solar system orbiting the five suns in various orbits.

’No wonder the dwarf race prospered here so well; this solar system is extremely rich in resources and materials for making megastructures a reality...’

Lia’s home solar system also had a massive workforce and resources to build megastructures like a Dyson sphere or something similar, but the world alliance still hasn’t created anything of that level, mainly because of the risk of it all being damaged by demons.

With how often powerful demons and powerful dungeons appear in that solar system, it’s almost impossible to create bulky megastructures, as they would be too vulnerable to external threats!

Also, with the world alliance already having spaceships that run on mana stones, there’s no need to suck the sun dry for its energy; using it as the planet illuminating bulb is a better use for it.

Aside from a Dyson sphere, a powerful energy shield already exists above the planet; however, S-rankers and SS-rankers can easily break through it, rendering it nearly useless.

So, although the world alliance is also very technologically advanced, their development direction is more focused on nurturing more demigods rather than making more technological advancements for now.

’I wonder if the same thing like the dwarf planet, happened to the home planets of the other races, like the elves, the dragons, etc.’

’They are also not from planet Earth, like dwarves and used to live somewhere else before the mana descent, so they should have their own planets too...’

’Next time I meet the elf king and queen, I will ask them about this...’

Lia sighed, suppressed her curiosity, and told Link and Riya about her discoveries.

[Two Cyrian years seem roughly around 1.9 years in terms of earth years...]

[The time difference isn’t big, which means that human who appeared on this planet should have appeared around the time when we were fighting Alverto in the spire of ascension...]

Lia narrowed her eyes as she continued speaking.

[Moreover, according to the half-orc chief, all mana-possessing beings on this planet suddenly became unlucky from that day about two years ago too...]

[Rio once told me that Alverto was trying to use the spire of ascension to control the luck of the entire world... The case here seems similar...]

[The luck and the strings of destiny of the entire planet seem like they’re being controlled through some mysterious process...]

The more Link heard, the more his eyes widened in realization.

[I see... no the entire planet has broken strings of destiny then... someone has harvested the luck of the entire planet and made them all unlucky forcing them to die or get corrupted by miasma...]

[This altar and the being behind are the most suspicious...]

Lia also agreed with Link’s speculations.

[Ever since we have arrived at this orc tribe, I have been feeling powerful fluctuations of fate and destiny near the central plaza, likely coming from that altar...]

[It’s possible that the luck of the entire planet has been forcefully condensed in that single place...]

After listening this far, Riya’s eyes became sharp as she asked,

[The incident involving Alverto happened around the same time the disaster started here... there couldn’t be such a coincidence in the universe... These two events might be related to each other...]

[We can’t overlook this... we need to get to the bottom of it all!]

A newfound sense of determination appeared in the group’s minds as they all realized the true stakes involved behind this matter.
