Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 710: Rio’s Indirect Effects on Fate. (Skippable)

Human Empire, In a Border Town.

Central Cemetery.

A young girl and young boy, both holding hands with each other and wearing the first-year student’s dress of the Great Freya Academy, slowly walked inside the cemetery with solemn looks on their faces.

The girl was holding two flower bouquets in her hands.

The two freshmen of the academy slowly made their way through the massive cemetery and arrived at a secluded corner where two new-looking graves were erected in the ground.

Both graves had the same big tombstone, which had the words, ’Here Lies the Best Father and Mother Who Loved Their Daughter With All Their Heart,’ engraved.

After arriving in front of the two graves, the young girl slightly bowed as she placed the bouquets of flowers near the tombstone.

”Mom, Dad... I am sorry I took so long to visit you...”

”The incident that day shook me to the core and left me traumatized for months, and I just couldn’t muster the courage to face the reality that you were both gone...”

”But today, I am here to finally face reality and move forward in life with pride just like you taught me to...”

The young girl held the young man’s hand tightly as she spoke.

”Mom, Dad, I have been successfully accepted into the Great Freya Academy, and although the past months were very difficult, not everything was shrouded in darkness...”

”I was fortunate enough to meet someone I like, and today he’s here with me; if not for him, I might not have been able to recover as fast as now...”

”I am sure that if you two were still here, you would like him too...”

Hearing his girlfriend’s emotional words, the young man bowed his head slightly to pay his respects as he spoke.

”Uncle, Aunt, I am Sara’s boyfriend. I promise to take care of your daughter, and I will cherish her with all my heart...”

Indeed, the young girl who had come to this old cemetery in this small town was none other than Sara, the same girl that had her family destroyed by a horrible criminal before Rio managed to save her life.

Sara was a talented kid who was already accepted into the academy long before that dreadful incident happened on that unforgettable night.

After the incident, Rio handed her to the law enforcement people, who sent her to the town orphanage, and she received support from the awakener’s association as Raji personally dispatched people to help her get used to her new life.

When Rio went on his long spirit realm expedition, six months passed.

In this time, Sara not only got admitted to the academy but also successfully completed the first semester and also found someone she liked and trusted.

The young boy beside her was her desk mate in the class before; they became friends on the very first day, and Sara quickly came to know that he was also in a similar family situation as hers.

So, with both sharing their traumatic pasts and spending a lot of time together, they eventually ended up falling for each other and became a couple soon after.

It was as if two boats that were drifting in an empty ocean with no goal or destination to reach had ended up meeting each other by sheer coincidence, and they both became close to each other at a very rapid pace!

The two young people relied on each other to face this cruel world and visited each other’s families, and today was the day when Sara had decided to finally bring her boyfriend to see her parents together.

She hadn’t been home since the day she got admitted to the academy, as she lacked the courage to face the graves of her parents.

But with the help of a person who loved her and was supporting her, Sara managed to face reality and came to terms with it.

”For all you did for me, for all the love you gave to me, and for all the encouragement you gave me... thank you...”

”That day, ’The Rising Darkstar’ saved my life and got revenge for you both by bringing judgment to that horrible criminal who destroyed our lives...”

”I have no need to seek revenge or walk the ’Path’ of hatred thanks to that, and I have learned a lesson of life...”

”In the future, I will become strong and become a pillar of support for this nation... and just like ’Darkstar’ saved me, I will work to make this world a better place and save and help many people...”

As they say, every action has a reaction.

Rio saved Sara and avenged her parents, thus helping her get the motivation to find her own ’path’ in life.

To Rio, saving Sara was just a small matter, but it was a life-changing incident for Sara, and it would go on to influence her entire life.

Indirectly, Rio helped in nurturing the next generation that would one day go on to become a new pillar of support for the human empire.

By properly dealing with the situation, Rio prevented the same outcome as Riko Embeth from happening to Sara, and she managed to avoid going down the ’Path’ of ’Revenge’ like Riko.

She might remember that dreadful night and lament the loss of her parents for as long as she lives, but these memories will not become a poison to her like they did to Riko.

”Thank you, Mom, Dad... I will come again to visit you both after the first-year ends and we get a long vacation...”

”Next time... I will bring you both the apple wine that you both like so much...”

With moist eyes, Sara said goodbye to her parents and hugged her boyfriend to find comfort.

After a while the young couple left with the light of new hope shining in their eyes.

As the couple left, the leaves of the tree nearby rustled due to a sudden wind breeze as a person suddenly appeared beneath the tree.

”No wonder I had a hunch that I should visit this place today... I see, so she managed to find happiness and moved on in her life...”

”That’s good news...”

A smile appeared on Rio’s face as he looked at the couple’s figure fading into the distance.

”Well, I hope you both will be happy in the future and won’t have to face a situation like that day ever again...”

With that said, Rio’s figure disappeared into nothingness again as if he were never here to begin with.
