Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 31: Chapter 31: Instakill! Su Ping Cheating? (Second Release for Votes)

As soon as these words came out, everyone’s gaze turned involuntarily toward Su Ping.

Li Shu beside him couldn’t hold back anymore:

”Zhou Shuchen, do you have no shame? Let’s not mention that Su Ping’s Forest Wolf inherently has less Racial Potential than your Crimson Fang Tiger. You’ve had your contracted Crimson Fang Tiger for over a month, while Su Ping hasn’t even reached half a month yet. Moreover, the Crimson Fang Tiger has an Attribute advantage over the Forest Wolf. What were you thinking?”

Once these words were spoken, the expressions of some people turned somewhat strange. This class monitor was too petty. Besides, previously, it was clearly you who provoked first, and it backfired when a beautiful woman by his side scared you off. Now that the lady is gone, you gain confidence?

But Zhou Shuchen didn’t care about these. In this world, the strongest power is the best reputation; what else matters? I am about to let Su Ping and these guys know that things are no longer as they were before. Now, I am the master of the Commander Level Pet Beast, the Crimson Fang Tiger, a Beast Tamer with boundless potential! And Su Ping, besides his so-called decent family conditions, has nothing else to boast about. This guy, who always remains calm, is irritating to me.

His gaze was firmly fixed on Su Ping.

”What, are you afraid?”

Seeing that Su Ping didn’t speak, Zhou Shuchen deliberately showed a haughty attitude.

However, Su Ping just shook his head:

”Of course, there’s nothing I’m afraid of. However, you should think it through; my Forest Wolf is rented out, so if you want to challenge me, it will cost you money!”

Cost money?

Zhou Shuchen’s expression stiffened, but he quickly recovered:

”Hmph, I wouldn’t bat an eye at such a trivial amount of money. Just come at me!”

”Alright then!”

If someone wants to get beaten, I wouldn’t refuse, Su Ping thought. Although to me, defeating such a person in a Pet Beast battle wouldn’t be much help to me or my Pet Beast, earning money is earning money, no matter whose it is.

He slowly walked onto the outdoor battle arena:

”Little Ones!”

”AWOO...”

Little Ones, already the size of a wolf dog, came to Su Ping’s side.

Su Ping smiled and rubbed Little Ones’ head.

He didn’t summon Xiao Qing. Using Xiao Qing to bully Zhou Shuchen would truly be overkill. Although it’s pretty much the same now, earning money is still earning money.

Currently, Xiao Qing and Little Ones were of the same Level, both Ordinary Sixth Stage. But an Ordinary Fourth Stage Xiao Qing could easily overpower a Sixth Rank Little Ones, and with Poison Vine Strangulation, Xiao Qing could instantly kill it if it wished. The terrifying poison would render the opponent powerless instantly. A Pet Beast battle with such a disparity in strength is inherently meaningless.

After all, Su Ping watched as Zhou Shuchen summoned his fiery red Crimson Fang Tiger, which was no bigger than a Pekinese. Though the cub was small, it already had the roar of a tiger that resonated through the woods, but Su Ping could tell at a glance that this Crimson Fang Tiger was currently just an Ordinary Third Stage. Compared to Little Ones, who was the size of a wolf dog, it was undeniably inferior.

Zhou Shuchen failed to see the gap in Rank.

However, Zhao Guowei and the person on the platform whom Zhou Shuchen called Brother Gold clearly saw it. But after exchanging a glance and seeing the astonishment in each other’s eyes, they chose to remain silent. In the end, for them, these were just kids squabbling. More importantly, although Zhou Shuchen was outwardly their man and closer to them, the shock that Qin Xiaoxue had given them was too great. That woman with a Monarch Level potential pet beast, what is her relationship with Su Ping? These were the concerns of those who had been navigating society for many years. Therefore, speaking up at this moment to remind him would amount to offending Su Ping, an act not worth the potential loss. So, at this moment, they all wisely chose not to speak.

As for Zhou Shuchen, he was already completely carried away by excitement; how could he have the mind to think about these matters?

There was no need for a professional referee to declare the start. Once some safety officers saw that everyone was in position, they activated the Energy Shield that prevented the spread of Energy.

”Su Ping, I’ll let you know that I am no longer the person I was before!”

Looking at the overexcited Zhou Shuchen, Su Ping really couldn’t understand. Why is this guy targeting me so much?

However, he didn’t need to ponder things that were meaningless to him, because the next moment, at Zhou Shuchen’s command, the slightly baby-voiced Crimson Fang Tiger had already pounced.

”Go! Crimson Cloud, Flaming Pounce!”

Not only that, even Zhou Shuchen’s own body shimmered with a faint red hue; his Talent—Fire Element affinity—could to some extent increase the combat power of his Pet Beast. It was indeed a fairly impressive Beast Taming Talent.

And at this moment, everyone finally saw why the Crimson Fang Tiger, with its Racial Potential reaching Commander Level, could give Zhou Shuchen such great confidence.

”ROAR...”

The deep roar carried a certain weight, and flames spattered over the body of the pouncing Crimson Fang Tiger, as if it would envelop its entire figure!

”An Ordinary Third Stage! Our class president’s Crimson Fang Tiger has grown quite quickly!”

”Not just in Level, but Skills too!”

Some spectators pointed out the key aspect: indeed, what made Zhou Shuchen so proud was that in just half a month, the Crimson Fang Tiger had mastered the Racial Skill: Flaming Pounce. It was this Skill that truly transformed it.

Fire Element is a complete counter to Wood Element, a basic principle of elemental restraint taught since school. Not to mention, the Crimson Fang Tiger’s Racial Potential was even higher than that of the Forest Wolf.

In other words, in the eyes of the classmates—except for Li Shu, who was blindly confident in Su Ping, and even Yin Yin, who was quite optimistic about Su Ping—none believed that under such circumstances, the Forest Wolf could be a match for the Crimson Fang Tiger.

The burning flames seemed to emanate a fearsome temperature that could still be felt despite the Energy Shield’s separation. Even a juvenile Crimson Fang Tiger was not something an ordinary Low-Level Pet Beast could compare with.

However, it was a pity that the Crimson Fang Tiger indeed had the Attribute advantage over Little Ones, and its Racial Potential was higher. But Little Ones was not an ordinary Low-Level Forest Wolf.

The main combat Skills of the Forest Wolf were, in fact, just two: one was accelerated growth, and the other was Vine Strangling. The former amplified the Forest Wolf’s physical combat Ability, similar to a boosting Skill, while the latter involved summoning vines to bind and strangle. Both Skills belonged to the Wood Element. And any Wood Element Skill would be strengthened by the Heart of Woods!

Suddenly, as it faced the pouncing Crimson Fang Tiger, Little Ones’ pupils seemed to burst with brilliance. Its body grew another size larger in an instant! How much stronger was it compared to the ordinary beginner-level accelerated growth? It was now the size of a small calf, seemingly having grown into an adult Forest Wolf in an instant.

In the animal kingdom, under normal conditions, the size of the body acts as an indicator of combat strength. Unless there are excessively astonishing supernatural Abilities at play, the strength and speed brought about by size alone can be overwhelming!

At this very moment, it was exactly the case!

Watching the flaming kitty charge towards it, Little Ones didn’t take it lightly and used its most simplistic Ability, leaping first to smack it away with a swipe of its paw. Then, the speed at which it sprang forward was even faster than the speed at which the Crimson Fang Tiger was sent flying, and the large wolf’s maw snapped at the pouncing flaming kitty!

”ROAR... MEOW!”

The shrill cry that rang out startled Zhou Shuchen awake. It was only after seeing his ’Crimson Cloud’ merely knocked out by that slap and subsequent bite that he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The wretched Forest Wolf then looked at Su Ping with innocent eyes.

But at this time, Zhou Shuchen, who had become the class president of Sixth Middle, finally reacted and looked at Su Ping angrily:

”This is an Ordinary Sixth Stage Forest Wolf! It’s not your Contracted Beast! Su Ping, you’re cheating!”

Suddenly, all the spectators, who were surprised at the unexpectedly quick end of the first Pet Beast battle, turned their eyes toward Su Ping.
