Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Is Su Anyong Coming Back?

It was as if his tumultuous emotions had suddenly peaked, and at last, at this moment, they calmly landed.

Su Ping let out a long breath and, without a second thought, lay back on the grass beside Old Sha.

Perfection!

As long as Photosynthesis reached the Perfection Level, one could boldly proclaim: Basically secure!

This was truly stable.

The most arduous and critical third stage of evolution for the Wanmu Wolf, perfected by the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas, was finally complete!

Next, once Old Sha’s accumulated energy peaked and his condition was fully restored, he could begin the evolution, a unique stage in the Beast Taming society of Blue Star.

At this stage, there was no longer a need to live in fear and trepidation.

After all, Su Ping had absolute faith in the perfecting effects of the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas.

Thus, the string that had been taut in his heart these past days suddenly relaxed. Although immense excitement still enveloped his heart, in this sun-drenched, warm season, lying on the soft grass, Su Ping completely let go and actually dozed off into a deep sleep.

He had a dream.

He dreamt that he was at the center of a radiant light.

And by his side, there were countless Forest Wolves and other various Pet Beasts.

Like a tide.

Those flying in the sky, swimming in the sea, running on the ground.

Even beyond these Pet Beasts, there were many more, of types he couldn’t clearly make out, all surrounding him.

And Old Sha was among them.

Except Old Sha had transformed into another appearance.

Su Ping couldn’t describe that appearance. Like most people’s dreams, he knew it was Old Sha, but he just couldn’t remember the specific scenes in the dream.

Su Ping only knew this was the most comfortable sleep he had ever had, and the most beautiful dream.

Unfortunately, at the end of the dream, some not-so-good images suddenly appeared.

”I don’t want to! I don’t want to be a live-in son-in-law! I’m already a Breeding Master! I’m the strongest Beast Tamer...”

Su Ping suddenly opened his eyes, thrashing about in an attempt to stop the beautiful dream from turning into a nightmare.

He looked around, his bewildered gaze slowly returning to reality as he took in his surroundings.

The sky had already grown dim, and on the other side, a crescent moon was even making its appearance.

The confused Su Ping glanced around and realized that beside him, other than Old Sha, there was also a concerned Uncle Guan.

Seeing Su Ping waking up, although his last words in the dream had left Guan Qianshan with a strange expression, Uncle Guan himself clearly heaved a sigh of relief.

”You gave me a scare! I was about to carry you inside to sleep, but this Forest Wolf stopped me. Xiao Ping, have you been too tired these days? Take a good rest; cultivating Pet Beasts isn’t an overnight task.”

Su Ping smiled and looked at Old Sha, then faced Uncle Guan’s concerned gaze before replying, ”No worries, things are stable now. There’s no need to be so busy.”

He rubbed Old Sha’s furry head and was suddenly startled.

The touch of his hand was no longer the soft yet coarse wolf’s hair but felt more like the branches and leaves of trees.

This unique and bizarre sensation momentarily left him without a reaction.

However, Su Ping understood that this was a sign Old Sha’s changes were already beginning.

In other words, Old Sha’s evolution had actually started.

His days of toil had not been in vain.

Su Ping breathed a sigh of relief and stood up with a smile. ”Don’t worry, I’m fine now. By the way, Uncle Guan, have you made dinner? I’m hungry!”

Lao Guan looked helplessly at the young man, then replied, ”It’s ready; we’ve been waiting for you. Come on, you’re completely different from your father in character! I really don’t know who you take after.”

Following the chattering Lao Guan into the kitchen, Lao Guan put on an apron before taking out the food that had been kept warm.

Impressively, four dishes and a soup made Su Ping’s eyes light up, and then he began to devour it.

Watching Su Ping eat as if he were a reincarnated starving ghost, Guan Qianshan smiled with satisfaction.

”You haven’t eaten well these past few days, so don’t eat too fast. Binge eating is bad for your health.”

”I never realized, Uncle Guan, your cooking skills are this impressive?”

At this, Lao Guan chuckled and said, ”Impressive? That’s because you haven’t seen the cooking skills of my wife and daughter.”

Su Ping raised his eyebrows; he hardly ever heard Lao Guan mention his family matters.

”How old is your daughter? You’ve never mentioned her before?”

”She’s about the same age as you, but she previously studied at the Second Middle School.”

”Oh? So she’s a graduate this year, too? Has she chosen her Pet Beast yet?”

Su Ping blinked.

Lao Guan shook his head. ”The girl is sensible; she always said she’d be fine with just contracting any random one, but I’ve been thinking of giving her a surprise. I’ve been telling her not to rush into a contract, wanting to buy her a good one when the time comes.”

At this, Lao Guan looked at Su Ping expectantly. ”Xiao Ping, you have a lot of insight into this area. Do you have any recommendations?”

Su Ping thought for a moment and said, ”What is her talent?”

”Uh... the common talent, Telepathic Communication.”

Su Ping nodded. In fact, he didn’t really recommend Pet Beasts with high-level Racial Potential because they were too expensive. Of course, evolving low-level Pet Beasts was not only expensive but also difficult. So, just as Uncle Guan and Zhou Shuchen believed, starting with Pet Beasts that had a sufficiently high initial Racial Potential Level was definitely better.

If it were someone else, Su Ping might have casually recommended a few, but Uncle Guan was different. After some thought, he said, ”Uncle Guan, why not the Forest Wolf? When the time comes, I can help with its training and even evolution!”

”This... would that be too much trouble for you!?”

Guan Qianshan was somewhat embarrassed.

”No problem, it’s not a bother. Just consider it a bonus for all the help you give me around here!”

Benefit bonus?

Guan Qianshan was somewhat astonished. He knew that in the past couple of days, a single application of Cultivation Skills had generated an income of five million gold. Although he was aware that this was profit, not principal, it was more than enough.

He wanted to refuse, but he couldn’t bring himself to do so. After all, it wasn’t for him but for his child’s future prospects.

Su Ping smiled and didn’t say much more.

”I truly never expected that after you took over Heart of Woods, you could achieve such feats. You’re much stronger than your father was back then. He used to ask me to look after you, but now it seems like it’s completely you, kid, who’s looking after me!”

Guan Qianshan was somewhat sentimental.

”By the way, Uncle Guan, do you know what my dad is doing in Northern Cold?”

Su Ping found it hard to believe that Su Anyong had actually gone to find him a stepmother. His old man, though unreliable, surely wasn’t *that* unreliable?

Guan Qianshan shook his head. ”You know what your dad is like; he probably just up and left on a whim.”

Su Ping thought for a moment and nodded. True enough.

However, at this very moment, a crisp notification sound came from his phone.

Su Ping tapped it open and saw a message on the screen.

The sender of this message was none other than his own father, whom he and Guan Qianshan had just mentioned.

And the content of the message made Su Ping pause in surprise:

[Su Anyong: Son, my business here is almost wrapped up, and your dad might be coming back in a few days. Miss me?]

Su Ping blinked.
