Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf

Chapter 191: Chapter 153 Talent Upgrade, Intense Collision._2

After pondering for a moment, Su Lin came to a wind-sheltered ice cliff and began a brief rest.

Cousin, Xiao Hui, Wolf Sister, Grey White Little Wolf, and the other members of the Wolf Pack closest to Su Lin, also lay down conscientiously around the Wolf King to protect him, shielding him from the piercing cold wind.

Su Lin’s mind stirred, and he took out the Talent Serums he had obtained that day.

He planned to use these Talent Serums to see which talent would be enhanced this time.

Whether it was a Variant Species or Su Lin, talents significantly augmented strength.

Only Variant Species with talents had the most basic footing in today’s drastically changed world.

Each time a talent advanced by one level, it would result in a powerful increase in combat strength.

Currently, with three Talent Serums, Su Lin felt he should enhance the Hunting Talent once.

The Hunting Talent, without a doubt, had the most significant amplification of all the talents.

Despite encountering many Variant Species, Su Lin had yet to see any talent that could surpass the boost of Hunting.

Even the formidable Ferocious Wolf Talent, when maximized, was inferior to Hunting Talent at the same level.

After all, no matter how much stronger one became with injuries, there was always a limit.

When that limit was truly shattered, it wasn’t just the Ferocious Wolf Talent that would be destroyed; life itself would likely be in grave danger.

Hunting was a talent that directly surged strength without any side effects.

Just the C-level Hunting alone could increase Attack Power and Speed by one hundred percent, which, compared to other Variant Species talents, was of overwhelming superiority.

Su Lin was very curious to see what kind of strength enhancement B-level or even A-level Hunting Talent could provide.

With this thought in mind, he silently called out, fetching the Talent Serum.

“Ding! Would you like to use the Talent Serum?”

“Use it.”

Su Lin did not hesitate.

Unlike the Strengthening Serum, the Talent Serum did not cause any discomfort after use.

On the contrary, it was a very comfortable warmth that flowed throughout his whole Wolf Pack.

Limbs, bones, muscles, and veins.

This time the Talent Serum didn’t last as long as the last time; it was absorbed very quickly.

“Ding! Wolf Howl Talent enhanced successfully, promoted to C-level talent.”

This pale grey message appeared before his eyes!

“Wolf Howl Talent?”

Su Lin saw this pale grey prompt and felt slightly disappointed at the bottom of his heart.

The Wolf Howl Talent was only powerful in its area of effect, but against Variant Species with strong individual strength, it wasn’t very effective.

Just like the battle against the Male Lynx, Variant Species Grizzly Bear, and Variant Species Reindeer King this time, the Wolf Howl Talent could cause damage to them, but the damage was limited.

Against Variant Species with strong individual strength, it could only serve as a supplementary means of harm.

However, after this enhancement, the Wolf Howl Talent should be much stronger.

With these thoughts, the description of the C-level Wolf Howl Talent appeared before his eyes in a few seconds.

[Wolf Howl]: C-level (upgradable), active talent.

Can initiate a Wolf’s Howl Sound Wave attack, with attack speed being twice the speed of sound, affecting a range of five kilometers.

Number of Attacks: 10 times.

Cooldown Period: 24 hours.

Note: After exceeding 10 times, it will enter a Cooldown Period; during this time, forcing the use of the Wolf Howl Talent will deduct a significant amount of Vitality Value.

The C-level Wolf Howl Talent had indeed strengthened quite a bit.

But it didn’t enhance the power, only the range of damage and the speed of the Sound Wave attack, making the Wolf Howl Talent’s attacks even more swift.

Seeing this, Su Lin silently nodded to himself.

With double the speed of sound, most species would be too slow to react,

Even my own Speed after activating the Hunting Talent is merely average in comparison.

Even for combating low-flying human aircraft in the future, it would be extremely useful.

Immediately after, Su Lin didn’t pause for long and took out another Talent Serum with determination.

“Ding! Would you like to use the Talent Serum?”

“Use it.”

Su Lin used another Talent Serum, and as the warm flow of it spread throughout his body, he only hoped that this enhancement wouldn’t strengthen the Wolf Howl Talent again.

Hunting and Healing Talents were his true capitals for unrivaled dominance!

….

Meanwhile, at this time, the major power alliances had reconvened for another peak meeting.

This time, since the disasters had passed, the leaders of various powers did not gather for a video conference,

but instead met again in the glittering palace.

Many elites and powerful figures took their places in the palace in succession.

They all watched the content on the huge liquid crystal display in silence, without making a sound.

Yet there was a hint of solemnity in each person’s eyes.

The nocturnal videos displayed all featured forces besieging the Variant Species and also included records and estimated combat data for various Variant Species.

Watching those terrifying images and values beyond comprehension, everyone felt worried about humanity’s future and destiny.

Soon, as the images shifted one after another,

a heavyweight elder of an alliance slowly approached the podium,

He said in a deep voice, “The reason we have all come here today is to discuss where humanity will go from here. In the last meeting, to deal with the natural disasters, we established the Human Alliance and built dozens of Human Fortresses to help survive the terrifying calamities.

I believe today we must likewise make a decision on how to deal with the Exotic Beasts, Exotic Flowers, and Giant Trees and other mutant creatures – to fight or coexist?”

As the elder’s voice settled, a powerful figure from a major force stood up to speak.

This person was one of the pinnacle figures of the African Union; he stood up and said bluntly, “In our last video conference, we already agreed to eradicate the mutant creatures and defend our human status. This is our overall policy and must not change!”

Because the African Union had recently gone on a hunting spree in the African savannas,

capturing hundreds of Variant Species and directly killing at least several hundred Mutant Creatures, their prestige among the major forces continued to grow daily.

The African Union also gained the most by consuming the flesh of Mutant Creatures.

By feasting on Variant Species Flesh, many important figures unlocked their Genetic Shackles, becoming New Humans.

Not only were all diseases eradicated, but as their physical quality improved, so did their lifespans, which is the reason the African Union is committed to the eradication of Mutant Creatures.

In their eyes, these Mutant Creatures are not just formidable enemies but also sources of precious food and Miraculous Medicines.

Currently, apart from an Invincible Lion Group and two African hyena groups, there are barely any considerable Mutant Creatures left in the vast savannas, which is why the African Union firmly supports the policy of eradicating Mutant Creatures.

Quickly, other major forces’ representatives stood up and countered, “Hmph, that’s because your side has never encountered truly terrifying Mutant Creatures. If the Bloodthirsty Python were in your territory, I think you wouldn’t be so quick to make such a statement!”

“Right, and who could contend with the Terrifying Bay Crocodile? It’s sunk ships that passed through the Shallow Sea regions.”

“The most important is that Godspeed Golden Eagle, which is simply not something current technology can handle.”

….

The leaders of the major powers at the Alliance meeting began a fierce discussion, and it wasn’t until a full three hours later that a final decision was hammered out.

First: Against horrific Mutant Creatures like the Blood Frenzy Python, Godspeed Golden Eagle, Terrifying Bay Crocodile, and Human-Skin Giant Tree, define hazardous area boundaries and for now, default to coexistence, whilst seeking to identify their weaknesses and flaws in preparation for future battles.

Second: Establish an information exchange center among the major forces to share detailed information and weaknesses of different Mutant Creatures, and then to conduct more ruthless and bloody suppression against these creatures, with the aim of eradicating them from the earth.

Third: Begin establishing a unified institution for New Humans to teach and train those who have unlocked their shackles, to accelerate their growth, and also to have the Science Alliance research weapons and War Armor more suitable for them!

Fourth: Start targeted explorations of red zones with no signal, such as the Antarctic, Arctic, Tropical Rainforest, etc., and within the next year, map out all the Mutant Creatures around the globe.

The release of these four decisions meant that mankind and Mutant Creatures were about to enter an even more intense confrontation.
