Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf

Chapter 116: Chapter 110: Strengthening the Spine, Variant Species Dominates (Subscription Wanted)

Especially with the ferocious Little Lone Wolf leading the way, they could even hunt ordinary Grizzly Bears.

With the Little Lone Wolf’s Variant Species talon and fanged tooth, it could already penetrate the defenses of an ordinary Grizzly Bear’s weak spots.

Add to that the Little Lone Wolf’s Level 6 Variant Species speed, which had already surpassed that of an ordinary Grizzly Bear, it could effectively engage in diversionary tactics.

However, Su Lin had no intention of wiping out all the Grizzly Bears in this area.

After re-planning his territory, Su Lin started leading the Wolf Pack back to their cave.

He also sent the Little Lone Wolf with the eleven newly joined members of the Wolf Clan to another cave.

There was plenty of stored food there, enough to feed the Wolf Pack for a long time.

Meanwhile, Su Lin returned to the cave with the rest of the Wolf Clan.

Upon returning, Wolf Sister and the Grey White Little Wolf, having experienced life and death battles for the first time, felt their own shortcomings.

Lacking their usual liveliness, they began to lie quietly in their own spots.

And as the cousin was in charge of four Wolfesses,

She not only took on sentry duties but also softly howled as she arranged the patrol times and range for the Wolfesses.

As for the cousin’s mother, she too sat quietly in front of her daughter, listening to her instructions.

After all, in a Wolf Clan where strength is respected, hierarchy is strictly enforced.

Even the cousin’s mother had to maintain her reverence for the Beta Wolf, aside from affectionate interactions in private.

Upon returning, Su Lin immediately started to gorge on the Ice Bug King again.

In this period, he had consumed sixty to seventy pounds of Ice Bug King flesh.

He gained a total of about eight hundred Evolution Points, lowering his Evolution Points to the minimum.

Even at its lowest, consuming a bite still yielded three Evolution Points, and a meal could yield seventy to eighty Evolution Points.

After eating about ten pounds, he let out a low howl and shared some Variant Species flesh with the little cubs and his cousin.

The four Wolfesses were directed to the Moose Meat instead.

The four Wolfesses didn’t have much potential for growth, so it wasn’t necessary to waste Variant Species flesh on them.

At that moment, Su Lin returned to his spot and began studying the rewards he received from killing the Ice Bug King.

Needless to say, the Evolution Potion was one, but he also gained a Strengthening Serum and a Poison Talent Serum extracted from the essence of what he consumed.

While the Ice Bug King’s Toxic Mist had no effect on him, it did not mean the Poison Talent wasn’t powerful.

On the contrary, Poison Talent was terrifyingly formidable.

Overcoming the strong with the weak is a common tactic of Poison Talent.

However, Su Lin had no immediate plans to use it because with overpowering strength,

the Poison Talent would be nothing more than a cherry on top for him.

He considered saving the Poison Talent Serum for use by his cousin or Wolf Sister in the future.

That would significantly enhance their combat power.

Yet what Su Lin found most useful was the Strengthening Serum.

He had already endured the extreme pain of strengthening the heart and the agony of destruction and rebirth at the bottom of the ice crevasse.

Therefore, he had developed an exceptional tolerance for the pain the Strengthening Serum would cause.

“What part will be strengthened this time?”

Su Lin naturally hoped it would be the brain, but he also knew that it was highly unlikely.

However, with more Strengthening Serums in the future, sooner or later, his entire body would be enhanced.

It was difficult to imagine just how formidable he would become at that point.

“Ding! Would you like to use the Strengthening Serum?”

“Use.”

Su Lin said confidently,

having used the Strengthening Serum multiple times already, and as he experienced the familiar scorching energy, he quietly endured it.

The searing energy wandered through his wolf body for a while,

then surged into his back.

“Hmm? The back? The spine!”

Su Lin’s eyes lit up, knowing the spine was also extremely important to the Wolf Clan.

This time, strengthening the spine would likely yield a significant boost in combat power.

At that moment, as the scorching energy poured in, Su Lin’s muscular back and strong spine began to ache intensely.

But such pain was nothing to him now.

The burning energy began to roast the bones, the bone marrow, and even every connecting fascia of the spine.

The spine, which had already gone through a cycle of destruction and rebirth in the crevasse’s depths, was now reaching a new breakthrough.

Under the roasting of the scorching energy, the spine emitted a faint, glowing light.

After continuing for over an hour, the intense heat gradually subsided, and the faint luminescence on the spine slowly retracted.

A glint flashed in Su Lin’s eyes.

He could feel that he had become stronger once again.

The spine, an essential part of the wolf’s anatomy for bearing and transmitting explosive force, showed obvious improvements after being strengthened.

Su Lin felt an explosive strength in his body that he could exert even more effortlessly.

Bang!

He forcefully struck a boulder inside the cave, smashing it into pieces.

Such attack and destructive power were indeed akin to splitting rocks and cleaving steles.

“Whew!”

Feeling the terrifying force of his attack, Su Lin exhaled deeply.

Name: Su Lin.

Species: Arctic Wolf.

Genetic Hierarchy: I.

Level: Level 11. (Requires 20,000 Evolution Points to upgrade.)

Qi-Blood: 2100.

Endurance: 200.

Strength: 230.

Defense: 240.

Speed: 330.

Evolution Points: 6308.

Talent: Hunting (C Level), Healing (B Level).

A new Attribute Panel appeared before his eyes,

and Su Lin discovered that after strengthening his spine, all attributes had increased except for defensive power and endurance.

Indeed, the spine was worthily the Wolf Clan’s most important bone.

The greatest increase was in strength, which directly surged by 50 points.

Speed increased by 30 points, and Vitality Value by 300 points.

Such growth could definitely be considered a massive surge in power.

The increase in Su Lin’s Strength Value to 230 meant that the Attack Power of his right Wolf Claw would reach a terrifying approximated 340 points.

Such Attack Power was more than double or triple that of the Bear Clan.

Now, the force of a single swipe of his paw could reach the weight of several tons.

Paired with his supremely sharp Wolf Claws, he became virtually invincible.

When his speed soared to 330 points, that equaled an approximate velocity of 110 meters per second.

Upon activating his Hunting Talent, he would reach speeds of over 200 meters per second.

Keep in mind that even the top fighter jets of humans could only reach a speed of around one thousand meters per second.

Now that Su Lin possessed one-fifth of that speed, and on complicated terrestrial terrain no less,

In addition, Su Lin had numerous latent combat enhancements: the vision of Snowy Owls, the sense of smell of the Bear Clan, the gliding of Flying Birds, the aquatic adaptation of Fish, the hearing of the Wolf Clan, the agility of Lynxes, and the cold resistance of Polar Ice Worms, among others.

So now, his consolidated sensory power was intense to a frightening degree,

and his combat power had reached a critical extreme, making him a rare match throughout the Entire Arctic.

Even if Variant Species appeared, they would just become fodder on his path of evolution.

However, after patrolling his territory today without spotting a Variant Species, Su Lin was slightly disappointed.

It was clear that Variant Species were extremely rare even with the dramatic changes in heaven and earth.

This caused Su Lin to grind his fangs a bit, with the only confirmed one being that Variant Species Grizzly Bear.

Therefore, if he wanted to obtain a vast amount of Evolution Points, hunting down the Variant Species Grizzly Bear was imperative.

As Su Lin pondered, time quietly slipped by.

….

Meanwhile,

in the span of a few months, the Human Alliance, which had established dozens of Human Fortresses, was still confronted by more horrific natural disasters.

These disasters seemed as if they heralded the Apocalyptic end.

Frightful cold waves from the Antarctic and Arctic, cataclysmic floods and earthquakes in the mountain regions, tsunamis sweeping in from the oceans—these disasters overwhelmed humanity, and many small countries perished amidst them.

Even some major countries suffered severe damage.

Even the wild animals and plants obtained powerful genetic evolutions and started attacking humans.

There were rumors that in India Country, a Bloodthirsty Python was spotted, impervious to blades and bullets, hundred meters in length, preying on humans for Blood Food.

There were also whispers that on the African Continent, a pride had gathered hundreds of male lions and thousands of lionesses, claiming dominion over the entire African Savanna!

Further rumors told of an Invincible Fierce Tiger that appeared in Southern Siberia—extraordinarily fast and powerful, facing hundreds of hunters armed with Technology Weapons, who still managed to break through and escape.

And the last message from a submarine with an accident claimed that a massive Sea Monster was encountered on the seabed, and warned humanity never to venture down there again.

Some also said they had seen an enormous Exotic Tree in the Tropical Rainforest, its branches laden with Human Skins.

…

Rumors flew everywhere, making the human world anxious and uneasy.

Many people huddled within the safety of Human Fortresses, afraid to take a single step outside.

Finally, the alliance of scientists researched some clues regarding these mutations in fauna and flora.

It turned out to be a special Elemental Power released from these natural disasters.

This Elemental Power unlocked the dormant Genetic Strength within various Species, granting exceptional genetic evolution to the elite among them.

But this Elemental Power was beyond the comprehension of the entire scientific community, seemingly beyond the grasp of scientific understanding.

Yet, within humanity, some elites unlocked their dormant genes.

Ultimately, the scientific community named these genetically unlocked Species as Behemoths, Exotic Flowers, Exotic Trees, and New Humans.

Various factions began to appeal for these New Humans with unlocked genes to join them.

Besides, they decided to organize the strongest forces to capture those Behemoths, Exotic Flowers, and Exotic Trees with unlocked genes.

But as the world upheaved, satellite signals became chaotic, and the majority of high-tech Technology Weapons were rendered almost useless.

Facing these genetically unlocked creatures, all major powers lacked absolute certainty of victory.

One side wields the freshest Genetic Strength, while the other wields human Technology Weapons.

No one knew what kind of intense sparks these two forces would ignite upon clashing!
