Chapter 112: Chapter 106 Eating Polar Bear.

“`

There were eleven reindeer carcasses in total, with two others chewed up and unrecognizable.

It appeared that, in a state of desperate hunger, even the herbivorous reindeer group had started to feed on the bodies of their kin.

Together, these reindeer carcasses amounted to about four thousand pounds of food.

And it was very delicious reindeer meat, significantly enriching the Wolf Pack’s food reserves.

It also provided Su Lin with ample resources for the subsequent expansion of the pack.

The remaining small reindeer group, consisting of only five or six individuals, huddled in a corner. They experienced no reduction in numbers, but all were clearly in poor condition.

The scattered moose herds had already left the cave, and what remained were five or six silk deer.

These deer were also highly resistant to the cold, but because of their long legs, they could easily get trapped in deep snow.

Thus, amidst the howling blizzard, the silk deer herd did not step out of the dissolving cave at all.

Even due to the lack of food, two of the thinner silk deer were starving and on their last legs, obviously not going to survive much longer.

Su Lin let out a low howl, signaling the Wolf Pack to put the two doomed deer out of their misery and drag them out.

To the herd, deer that were not going to survive were a burden,

and in Su Lin’s view, it was better to give them a quick end.

In this sudden and harsh blizzard, the reduction in numbers for each species was the most common occurrence.

If it weren’t for him leading the Wolf Pack ahead of time to drive these species to this vast dissolving cave, there would likely have been more deaths.

“Ao!”

…

As the Wolf Pack issued their attack howl, the silk deer herd offered only weak and futile resistance.

Once Little Lone Wolf engaged in combat, the ferocity emanating from him equaled that of the original Purple Lynx.

Every attack aimed for the vital spots,

and the two thin deer, despite their desperate struggle to survive, still died under Little Lone Wolf’s sharp fanged teeth.

Though Little Lone Wolf had already evolved into a Variant Species, with a body structure different from ordinary wolves,

the wolf claws usually concealed within his fur could still cause great harm when revealed.

But still, he preferred to tear and bite, a method that quickly drained the prey of its blood and vitality once he clamped onto its throat.

However, the Wolf Pack’s indiscriminate slaughter also caused the remaining large herbivores in the cave to grow uneasy.

Especially the Musk Ox Group, whose massive hooves began stomping on the ground, and their deep purple eyes emitted a resolute and relentless attitude.

They did not wish to perish without fighting back.

Even though they knew they had been starving for many days and were very weak, a natural bravery in them could not accept a passive fate.

They firmly believed that if they charged, the Wolf Pack would surely be unable to withstand them.

However, the Musk Ox Group, after two or three months, seemed to have gradually forgotten the Wolf Pack’s previous pursuit of them.

As the unease grew within the Musk Ox Group, the remaining dozen or so reindeer also harbored thoughts of resistance, propping themselves up with difficulty.

Their sharp antlers shook as their eyes fixed intently on the Wolf Pack that was laboriously dragging along the two silk deer carcasses.

“`

“Yo!”

“Moo!”

Simultaneously, they all let out roars, intending to use their collective cries to thoroughly drive the wolf pack away.

Due to their low intelligence, they didn’t know how long this wolf pack would continue its rampant hunting.

As the large herbivore species resisted, Little Lone Wolf and Xiao Hui also began to show their sharp fanged teeth, using howls as a means of intimidation.

“Howl!”

…

The wolf pack’s howling echoed throughout the Dissolving Cave.

But just as the Reindeer Group and Musk Ox Group were resisting in unison and preparing to confront the wolf pack,

suddenly, an overwhelmingly strong aura and pressure descended fiercely, making them feel as though they were being targeted by an ancient beast.

The scent of death reverberated in the hearts of every musk ox and reindeer.

In their pairs of eyes emerged a trace of panic as they began to look up in search of the source of the overwhelming presence.

“Swoosh!”

Accompanied by a piercing whistling through the air, a majestic White Wolf, much larger than they could imagine, appeared in their field of view as if teleporting from afar.

The source of that overwhelming pressure was, astonishingly, this White Wolf.

The rampant aura emanating from the White Wolf made the Musk Oxen and Reindeer, who had just been ready to resist, feel as if their minds were about to explode.

Even the Musk Ox Group, which had always claimed to be fearless, began to turn back in disorder and retreat frantically.

Looking at this White Wolf, they were all reminded of the hunt three months ago.

Their minds vaguely remembered the bloody scene of this White Wolf brutally killing their former leader.

And now, this White Wolf was even more terrifying, its rampant aura of slaughter making them feel as if they could hardly breathe.

They feared that even at their peak condition, forming a defensive formation once again would pose little threat to this White Wolf.

However, Su Lin did not come with the intention of slaughtering at will; he merely gave these prey a cursory glance,

then led the wolf pack to carry away all the deceased prey.

They brought back six intact reindeer and two Sika Deer to the cave where they lived.

The remaining five reindeer and two others, with their flesh blurred from being gnawed, were left in the cave where the Wolfess resided.

The cave chosen by the Wolfess was actually the one formerly inhabited by the small wolf pack.

The cave was slightly smaller than the one where Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom lived,

but even with an addition of a dozen or so members of the Wolf Clan, there was still more than enough room.

Therefore, Su Lin planned to use this place as the second cave for the wolf pack.

He left Little Lone Wolf in this cave and instructed him on the distribution of the food.

The treatment of the Wolfess patrolling the territory remained the same, feeding once a week with conspicuous performances earning additional rewards.

The newly recruited Hai Wolf would feed once every ten days.

With these food supplies, the Wolf Pack could certainly expand by a considerable number of Wolf Clan members.

Only if the power of the Wolf Pack grew stronger and stronger, Su Lin could occupy more territories in this region.

Before preparing to return, he began to devour the flesh of the Polar Bear.

The Polar Bears had always been thinking about hunting, but never found the right opportunity.

Unexpectedly, in the end, it was the Variant Species Grizzly Bears that gratuitously delivered the bodies of two Polar Bears.

Tear! Rip!

Su Lin tore open the thick skin and flesh of the Polar Bear, revealing the tender meat inside.

He started by biting off a piece from the back and swallowing it.

The flesh from other parts of the Polar Bear had too much fat,

For other members of the Wolf Clan, the more fatty the meat, the tastier it was,

Most wolves relied on consuming calories to survive, and matters like nutrition were rarely considered by them.

However, Su Lin no longer felt the pressure to survive.

Only the meat from the back and limbs was palatable to him.

The mix of lean and fat meat, combined with the faintly fresh blood still not entirely frozen inside the Polar Bear’s body, was also a sumptuous delicacy.

“Ding! Host has consumed Polar Bear meat and has obtained 30 Evolution Points.”

The Polar Bear truly lived up to its reputation as the once-acknowledged Arctic Overlord,

As the flesh and blood of an Ordinary Species, its first bite alone provided a whopping 30 Evolution Points!

It was the most Evolution Points Su Lin had gained from a single meal,

and since the reduction in Evolution Points for Ordinary Species was small, this Polar Bear could provide him with a substantial amount of Evolution Points.

With the acquisition of Evolution Points, Su Lin’s appetite completely opened up.

His digestive power could be described as terrifying; although it had only been three to four hours since he ate the Ice Bug King, he had already digested much of it.

Swallowing tens of pounds of Polar Bear flesh was not a problem.

“Ding! Host has consumed Polar Bear meat and has obtained 29.5 Evolution Points.”

“Ding! Host has consumed Polar Bear meat and has obtained 29 Evolution Points.”

“Ding! Host has consumed Polar Bear meat and has obtained 28.5 Evolution Points.”

…

When he was about eighty percent full, Su Lin stopped eating.

By consuming the Polar Bear, he gained over four hundred Evolution Points, which marked a small step towards his next level advancement.

He then searched for the essence of the Polar Bear,

For Ordinary Bear Species, the essence was usually found in the Bear Gall.

He went straight for the male Polar Bear’s gall and swallowed it.

“Ding! Congratulations to the host for consuming Polar Bear Gall (Level 17) and earning 300 Evolution Points.”

Seeing this message, Su Lin’s eyes lit up.

Indeed, the higher the level, the more Evolution Points the essence part could provide.

Then Su Lin got up and also devoured the essence of the female Polar Bear, gaining another 210 Evolution Points as a reward.

This brought him some consolation; the Evolution Points provided by the two Polar Bears were comparable to that of a Variant Species.

Next,

Su Lin returned to the cave once more.

The Little Lone Wolf was left behind in this cave, becoming one of the branches of the Wolf Pack.

Initially, Su Lin planned to lead the Wolf Pack in this area and live a leisurely life.

But as the world changed drastically, and with frequent abnormal natural phenomena, it was uncertain what the future might hold.

Therefore, the expansion and strengthening of the Wolf Pack were imperative.

The bodies of six Reindeer and two Sika Deer had already been dragged back.

Su Lin’s Physical Strength required rest for recovery,

Once his strength was fully recovered, not only would he hunt down the Variant Species Grizzly Bear, but he would also expand the territory of the Wolf Pack further.

Eventually, from here to the ice layers would all fall under the Wolf Pack’s domain.

“Ao!”

…

Just as Su Lin had returned, he heard Wolf Sister and Grey White Little Wolf, the two pups, starting to fight each other again.

Wolf Sister even took the initiative to challenge the Polar Bear Cub.

Being in a new environment and taken in by the Wolf Pack,

The Polar Bear Cub was clearly very cautious and did not dare make a sound, merely whimpering and curling up in the corner in submission.

This made Wolf Sister excitedly howl, feeling that the mighty Polar Bears mentioned by Wolf Mother were nothing special after all.

This scene made Su Lin shake his head involuntarily.

Wolf Sister had almost been spoiled into a little Demon by him.

However, the growth potential of the Polar Bear Cub was astounding, and it grew faster than the wolves.

So, the currently excited Wolf Sister might not be a match for this Polar Bear Cub in just a few months.

The food reserves in the Wolf Pack now exceeded any previous moment.

Just in the cave where Su Lin stayed, there were several hundred pounds of Variant Species Ice Worm King, Musk Ox Meat, and Moose Meat, as well as the freshly dragged in six Reindeer and two Sika Deer.

The total amount of food was nearing five thousand pounds.

In the harsh cold of the Arctic, food did not spoil and could be stored for a long time.

These food supplies ensured that the Wolf Pack would not have to worry about hunting for the next one or two years.

Su Lin stretched languidly, returning to his spot to start resting.

The sky outside was also gradually dimming.

In the pitch-black night, the howling blizzard continued to unleash its waning fury.
