Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf

Chapter 45: Chapter 45 Bone-Chilling Wind.

The Wolf Clan’s sense of smell is very keen.

Not long after Wolf Sister arrived at Su Lin’s side,

she keenly detected,

the scent of another wolf clan member on him.

Wolf Sister sniffed fiercely a few times,

and identified it was Wolf Mother’s scent.

It was a scent Wolf Sister could never forget.

After all, she had lived in Wolf Mother’s embrace for quite a long time.

This made Wolf Sister unable to resist howling with excitement.

Her young wolf howls echoed through the cave.

Su Lin had no choice but to respond with a howl.

Telling Wolf Sister that he had indeed seen Wolf Mom and Wolf Dad today.

He returned to the original wolf pack and looked at everyone.

Wolf Sister only half-understood the meaning conveyed in the howling.

But she still knew that Wolf Brother had gone to see Wolf Mom.

This prompted Wolf Sister to take several deep sniffs in Su Lin’s fur.

Then she howled softly, indicating she too wanted to see Wolf Mom.

She missed Wolf Mom very much.

Su Lin extended a paw, comfortingly stroking Wolf Sister’s little head.

He signaled that he would take her with him next time he visited Wolf Dad and Wolf Mom.

This made Wolf Sister very excited.

Her small body snuggled up against Su Lin,

nudging and searching for the lingering scent of Wolf Mom.

Wolf Sister and Su Lin were born one after the other.

Now, they were only a little over half a year old.

In other wolf packs, they would still be cubs just starting to eat independently.

Growing up with Su Lin, Wolf Sister had developed quickly.

With the development of a Potential Potion and an abundant food supply,

she had grown to Level 2 strength in just over six months.

This strength

could now rival that of many wolf cubs over a year old, even two.

But as fast as physical strength can grow, maturity cannot.

Wolf Sister’s longing for Wolf Mom was still very strong.

Feeling Wolf Sister sniffing around in his fur, Su Lin decided,

next time he had a chance, he would take Wolf Sister to see Wolf Mom.

But for now,

it was better to rest early and replenish his energy and physical strength.

“Ao!”

He howled softly, signaling to Wolf Sister to be quiet,

as he was going to rest.

This caused Wolf Sister’s small body to stop nudging and pushing.

But she still stayed close to Wolf Brother, closing her eyes to sleep as well.

Smelling the familiar scent of Wolf Mom,

Wolf Sister quickly fell asleep, snoring soundly.

….

The next day,

after Su Lin got up, he stood at the entrance of the cave and looked outside.

He noticed the piercing cold wind under the polar night had begun to howl once more.

Carrying much of the perennial ice and snow up into the air.

Although it was not yet a blizzard,

this weather was not suitable for going out.

This made him dismiss the idea of going out.

He came out of the cave,

and the notification sound that hadn’t been heard for a long time rang out again.

“The climate is too harsh and severe, host’s physical energy consumption is doubled, please conserve your energy.”

Su Lin allocated all his free attribute points into speed.

Although this gave him an astonishing speed, his physical strength was still quite standard.

Normal Level Six endurance,

couldn’t withstand long-time consumption in this weather.

At this moment, he made a routine check around the cave.

The ice and snow carried by the cold wind fell on his body,

making Su Lin, already thickly-furred, still feel a trace of chill.

In this piercing cold wind,

there was no discovery nearby.

Upon returning to the cave,

he found that the Grey White Little Wolf and Wolf Sister were still soundly asleep.

It’s normal for cubs to sleep soundly.

And Xiao Hui had also awoken,

it looked at the outside cold wind, also thinking of taking a turn outside,

but just stepping out, under the assault of the piercing cold wind, it quickly ran back into the cave.

Even as a Level Four Variant Species, Xiao Hui still couldn’t withstand the harsh winds that almost carried a blizzard’s ferocity.

As for Cousin,

she remained on guard at the entrance of the cave but had now laid down in a spot sheltered from the wind.

At this time, Su Lin also took the opportunity to review the numerical attributes of several wolves.

He found that Cousin’s strength had taken a big step towards reaching Level Four.

Cousin had also used a Potential Potion,

and with an abundance of food supplies, such a growth rate was not surprising.

It was estimated that in another one to two months, Cousin would break through to Level Four.

By then, she would have officially grown into a full-grown Arctic Wolf!

As for Xiao Hui’s strength,

it had also improved since before,

but there was still a considerable distance to go before reaching Level Five.

As a Variant Species, once Xiao Hui broke through to Level Five, his combat power would probably crush Wolf Dad.

By then,

Su Lin would have gained a significant help.

As for Grey White Little Wolf and Wolf Sister,

the growth of the two wolf cubs was fast compared to that of ordinary Wolf Clan cubs.

But in Su Lin’s eyes, it was just average.

To break through to Level Three Attributes,

the two wolf cubs would probably need at least three to four months.

The Wolf Pack’s strength also steadily improved.

However, in reality,

the fastest growth in strength was Su Lin himself.

Since hunting the Grizzly Bear up to now,

Su Lin’s accumulated Evolution Points were not far from advancing to Level Seven.

The meat and Bear Gall from the Grizzly Bear, the meat of the Arctic Salmon, Northern Dogfish, and the few small fruits eaten at Wolf Mother’s, all provided him with a substantial amount of Evolution Points.

With this in mind,

Su Lin opened his attribute page to check his latest Evolution Points.

Name: Su Lin.

Species: Arctic Wolf.

Level: Six. (640 Evolution Points needed for level up.)

Qi-Blood: 600.

Endurance: 60.

Strength: 60.

Defense: 60.

Speed: 120.

Evolution Points: 593.

Talent: Hunting (D-rank), Healing (D-rank).

He was less than fifty points away from advancing again.

After another level up, Su Lin’s strength would receive another enhancement.

By then,

he would be even closer to the position of the Arctic Overlord.

Thinking of this,

Su Lin didn’t ponder further.

With a low howl, he summoned the wolves inside the cave to begin eating.

In the cave,

there were plenty of food reserves,

that Arctic Salmon

was already shared by Wolf Sister and Grey White Little Wolf yesterday.

Now, the cave still had about three hundred pounds of Grizzly Bear Meat and twenty to thirty pounds of Northern Dogfish.

As the Lead Wolf,

Su Lin had the right to prioritize food consumption.

He didn’t eat the Grizzly Bear.

Because the Evolution Points from the bear’s meat was reduced to 0.1, and even with the increase from the Evolution Potion, it was only 0.3.

Very few Evolution Points could be gained.

But the Northern Dogfish could still provide him with some Evolution Points.

Due to the freezing climate,

the Northern Dogfish had stiffened and were coated with a layer of frost.

However, this was negligible under Su Lin’s strong bite force.

He tore off a piece of Northern Dogfish meat and swallowed it,

feeling the coolness on his tongue.

However, the freezing well preserved the deliciousness of the fish.

After swallowing the fish meat into his stomach, prompts for the Evolution Points appeared.

“Ding! The host has consumed Northern Dogfish, gaining 4 Evolution Points.”

“Ding! The host has consumed Northern Dogfish, gaining 3.5 Evolution Points.”

“Ding! The host has consumed Northern Dogfish, gaining 3 Evolution Points.”
