Chapter 40: Father Wolf Eats Fish

Little Gray held the fishing net in his mouth and quickly ran across the ice.

Su Lin followed behind. He was also looking around. This time, he did not encounter any polar bears.

The polar bear in this area had hunted a white whale yesterday. Judging from the size of the white whale, it weighed at least a ton. It was enough for it to eat for a long time.

After a while, Su Lin and Little Gray came out of the ice.

The fishing net was very tough. It was fine even under Little Gray’s clumsy drag, which had accidentally bumped into the ice and snow several times.

After leaving the ice, there were no more auroras.

It was dark again.

Under the night sky, the surroundings were silent. There was no sound at all. Only the rustling sound of Little Gray dragging the fishing net could be heard.

On the way, not to mention prey, not even the hunters were seen. The smell of blood emitted by the fish did not attract any animals.

Su Lin knew that this deathly silence also represented the worrying situation of many hunters. It was very likely that most of the hunters were struggling at death’s door in order to preserve their remaining strength, just to wait for the light in the sky to arrive.

Calculating the time, the extreme night in this area will fade in about a month’s time.

Over the past month, it was the darkness before dawn, and it was the most unbearable.

At this moment, Su Lin and Little Gray were quickly interspersed in the night. The two of them were very fast. It didn’t take long. They arrived at the cave where Father Wolf, Mother Wolf, and the others were.

Looking at this familiar cave, Su Lin was in a daze. When he was still a cub, he had lived in this cave. Father Wolf and Mother Wolf doted on him a lot.

More than half a year had passed.

“Ow!” Su Lin let out a long howl.

The howls of wolves spread far and wide. He was informing Father Wolf and Mother Wolf that he was back.

After this howl, Father Wolf’s vigorous figure appeared in front of the cave entrance after a while.

Father Wolf’s fur was as thick as ever. Including the wolf tail, it had a wolf body of two meters. It might not be comparable to Su Lin, but it was still very tall and majestic. A pair of green eyes in the night quickly noticed Su Lin and Little Gray.

With his sensitive sense of smell, he could tell that this was his cub.

Father Wolf did not expect that Su Lin, who had left him to go out and explore, had become even bigger and had completely surpassed him.

This made Father Wolf very gratified. He responded with a long howl, then ran over from the cave.

Father Wolf ran over. In his excitement, he stuck out his tongue and licked Su Lin’s fur.

As the alpha wolf, Father Wolf rarely did such intimate actions. Su Lin could feel that Father Wolf was indeed very surprised to see him. Apart from that, he also realized that Father Wolf had become a little thin recently.

It was obvious that under the extreme night, Father Wolf led the wolf pack and lived a tough life.

“Ow!” He let out a low howl and gestured for Father Wolf to look at the fish in the net.

Father Wolf had never eaten fish before. But as the alpha, he was knowledgeable. He knew fish. He sniffed at a few fish in the net.

Smelling the alluring smell of blood, he couldn’t help but swallow.

“Ow!”

When Su Lin saw this scene, he took out a fish from the fishing net. He threw it in front of Father Wolf and gestured for him to eat. After all, this fish was specially sent to Father Wolf and Mother Wolf.

Su Lin had already left the wolf pack where Father Wolf was. It no longer affected Father Wolf much in the wolf pack. Therefore, Father Wolf was no longer as embarrassed as before. He began to open his mouth and bite the Arctic salmon.

However, the Arctic salmon were covered in shiny scales.

Father Wolf tried a few times but failed to bite into it. In the end, Father Wolf acutely discovered that the salmon had fewer scales on its abdomen. Its sharp fangs pierced into its abdomen and tore off a large piece of fish meat.

“Ow!”

After finally tasting the delicious fish inside, Father Wolf’s green eyes lit up. He had never tasted the deliciousness of fish meat in his many years in the Arctic Circle. However, he soon felt the spikes in the fish meat.

Father Wolf wanted to chew and swallow those spikes, but he was stabbed. This made Father Wolf vomit it out.

“Ow!”

At this moment, the silly Little Gray also came forward to teach Father Wolf how to spit out bones when eating fish. Because he had been stabbed several times by fish bones yesterday as he had wolfed down the food.

There was even a small fish thorn stuck in his throat. After coughing for a long time, he finally coughed it out.

Father Wolf looked at Little Gray, who had grown several times and was already comparable to an adult Arctic wolf. His wolf eyes were also very surprised.

Unexpectedly, the two brats he had watched grow up. In a short period of time, he had undergone a huge change. It was as if he had been reborn.

Smack!

Looking at Little Gray’s low howl, Su Lin rewarded it with a claw.

Let him know his place. After all, Father Wolf was the alpha. He still cared about his reputation. He might as well figure it out himself rather than letting Little Gray teach him. In terms of food, all kinds of wild animals had the talent of self-taught.

“Ow!”

Seeing that his boss was angry, Little Gray resentfully returned behind Su Lin.

At this moment, Father Wolf had completely accepted the fact that these two brats had been reborn. He let out a low howl and gestured for Su Lin and Little Gray to enter the cave.

Su Lin missed Mother Wolf very much. Therefore, he followed Father Wolf into the cave first, while Little Gray followed behind with the remaining fish in the fishing net.
