Devouring Evolution: I Reborn as an Arctic Wolf

Chapter 30: Chapter 30: The Mysterious Hunter.

Time flew by.

Three days later,

Su Lin had not gone hunting these days, instead recuperating from his wounds in the cave.

The injuries had healed a lot,

and as long as he wasn’t engaged in intense combat, the injuries no longer affected him much.

With the Healing Talent,

a few days were equivalent to nearly a month’s recovery time.

“Awoo!”

Having completed his patrol, Su Lin stood at the entrance of the cave,

and let out a long howl towards the cold, barren Arctic Continent outside.

The howling resonated in the darkness for a long time.

In the cave, the Strength Attributes of Xiao Hui and his Cousin were also steadily improving.

Xiao Hui was getting closer and closer to breaking through to Level 4.

Meanwhile, Wolf Sister and Grey White Little Wolf,

had both advanced to Level 2 during these three days.

Wolf Sister’s small body had grown larger,

and her snow-white fur, just like Su Lin’s, had become denser, allowing her to withstand the severe cold on her own.

But every night, she still habitually slept next to either Su Lin or her Cousin.

The size of Grey White Little Wolf had also increased significantly.

Its intermingled grey and white fur had grown longer,

and the fur had become much softer than before.

However, despite Grey White Little Wolf’s significant progress in strength, it still couldn’t avoid being bullied by Xiao Hui.

Now, it was once again playfully tussling with Xiao Hui.

Xiao Hui’s robust paws casually swiped away Grey White Little Wolf’s attack,

and even pinned it to the ground with ease.

“Awoo! Awoo!”

This caused Grey White Little Wolf to whine for mercy.

Wolf Sister and the Cousin were lying indolently, watching them play.

From time to time, Wolf Sister would let out a low howl to cheer on Grey White Little Wolf.

The atmosphere in the cave was very relaxed and harmonious.

…

Meanwhile,

about twenty kilometers away from the cave, inside a grey-white off-road vehicle,

Tiffany had been searching this area, driving the off-road vehicle and operating a drone for a long time.

She had yet to find the grizzly bear she wanted to film.

Even controlling the drone to enter the Grizzly Den to film, she found nothing.

She had thought that the grizzly bear had taken its cubs out to forage,

so while she filmed other peculiar animals of the Arctic, she also searched for traces of the grizzly bear.

Finally, not far from the Grizzly Den, she discovered a large swathe of blood splattered across the ice and snow.

Tiffany got out of the car with a powerful flashlight,

and after shining it around, found that the bloodstains were not just here;

a large area was speckled with droplets of fresh blood.

“Oh my god! A battle must have taken place here!”

Looking at the messy scene, Tiffany couldn’t help but cover her cherry lips in shock.

And it was a fierce fight,

for if it had been a one-sided slaughter, it wouldn’t have turned such a vast area into such a mess.

At this time,

Divina inside the SUV also maneuvered the drone to this location, live-streaming the chaotic scene to the viewers online.

The drone’s camera had night vision capabilities,

so when she swapped to the drone’s view on the live stream, the audience could clearly see the scene.

Upon seeing the disarray and the bloodstains, the previously quiet live stream was suddenly flooded with a burst of messages.

[Facebook Biologist – Wen Luofu]: Oh my god! Streamer, get in the car quickly, it’s dangerous, don’t stay there, there’s definitely a large beast!

[Facebook Regular User – Skadi]: Streamer, just use the drone to film, there was a fierce battle here and it wasn’t long ago, it’s very likely that one of the parties involved was the Grizzly you’ve been searching for so long.

[Facebook Regular User – Chen Niwen]: Yes, the drone’s filming is clear, although the scene is messy, you can still see the Grizzly’s footprints on the snow. The other footprints seem like they belong to a canine.

[Facebook Regular User – Audilu]: Oh, stop guessing, the other party is definitely the White Wolf! You shouldn’t underestimate the White Wolf!

“Hahaha, are you obsessed with the White Wolf, how could that be possible?”

“Fairly speaking, although the White Wolf is brave, it would be very difficult to hunt a Grizzly, even one that has just given birth.”

“Then how do you explain these canine-like footprints?”

….

Watching the messages on the live stream on her phone,

Divina also quickly shouted, “Tiffany, get in the car quickly, it’s not safe here.”

“I’m coming.”

Tiffany, holding a high-power flashlight, took a thorough look at the mess before jogging back to the SUV.

The temperature in the Arctic Continent outside was over twenty degrees below zero,

and even with a down jacket on, she still felt chilling cold.

Once back in the car, feeling the warmth of the heater, she finally felt a bit better.

Having just gotten in,

while rubbing her hands for warmth, she told her online audience, “Hi, viewers, I’ve just gone down to take a look, and I think it was a mother Grizzly that had a fight with a hunter here. The outcome appears to be that the Grizzly lost.”

As her voice settled, the live stream was dotted with new messages.

Most were asking what animal would dare to hunt a Grizzly.

After all, in the icy lands of the Arctic, the only animal known to hunt Grizzlies was the fellow bear, the Polar Bear.

However, Tiffany knew that the few Polar Bears in the region were active within the ice layer limits and rarely came here.

Moreover, the footprints on the snow weren’t at all like those of a Polar Bear.

Thus, Tiffany, looking through the messages, said, “At the moment I’m not sure what animal it is, but it surely isn’t a Polar Bear.”

In fact, she was shocked herself,

wondering what animal could have hunted the Grizzly.

As for the footprints and traces mentioned in the messages, Tiffany had also carefully observed them just now.

She figured that the fight happened a few days ago.

Amidst the disarray, only faint traces of the Grizzly’s footprints could be made out.

The other footprints were no longer clear, just somewhat resembling those of a canine.

At this time, the many viewers in the live stream,

were analyzing under the high-definition night vision of the drone what mysterious hunter this could be.

The viewers’ messages kept popping up in the live stream.

And Tiffany couldn’t help but sigh, feeling discouraged by yet another failed filming attempt.

Should she go back now, or head to the ice layer to film some Polar Bears?

She pondered.

As for her friend Divina, she was happily interacting with the viewers in the live stream,

chattering away about her guesses regarding the mysterious hunter.
