“W -What did you say?! The head of Yangcheng?!”

Zhao Zirui was shocked and almost jumped up from the sofa.

‘Who do you think I called?”

“Impossible!” Zhao Zirui said righteously.

“You’re just a small boss. How could you know him?!” “If you don’t believe me, I’ll get him to personally prove it to you.’ Lin Yi took his hand away and said to Wu Zhaoyou, “Someone is questioning your identity. Prove yourself to him.” “I’m Wu Zhaoyou. Who’s questioning my identity?”

Hearing Wu Zhaoyou’s words, Zhao Zirui was dumbfounded.

As he had previously visited the place for inspection, he recognized the name.

Especially his voice and tone. They were exactly the same.

Most importantly, if he wasn’t a superior, he wouldn’t be so confident in his words!

“I-I’m Zhao Zirui from the tax bureau. Hello…”

At this moment, Zhao Zirui was so scared that he stuttered.

“Okay, I will remember you.”

With that, Wu Zhaoyou changed the topic and said to Lin Yi, “It’s settled. Just call me in advance.”

“Thank you so much.”

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Lin Yi hung up.

Everyone saw that Lin Yi’s connections had reached an unimaginable level.

“Brother, is it really done?”

Lin Yi nodded. “But you still have to work hard in the future.”

“Brother, don’t worry. I’ll definitely do my best,” Wang Jiajia said seriously.

“That’s all I needed to hear.”

“Lil Yi, you’ve already made arrangements for your Jiajia. Shouldn’t you also make arrangements for your brother, Zirui?’ Sun Guilan probed.

“Does he still need my help?” Lin Yi said, ‘My company might fall under his control in the future. I’m not that capable.”

Sun Guilan and Zhao Zirui were a little embarrassed.

His pretentiousness had totally backfired. Any hope of benefitting from Lin Yi’s connections was now ruined.

“Brother, what are you saying? I was just joking just now. How could I do this to you?”

“You’re too humble. I’ll have to rely on you more in the future,” Lin Yi said as he lay on the bed. “Our company’s accounts are at your mercy.”

Ring ring ring!

Zhao Zirui’s phone rang at this moment.

“My boss is calling.” Zhao Zirui said excitedly, “He might have heard my name from the top dog and is now offering me a job as well.”

Lin Yi, “

This guy really had the guts to say anything that came to his mind.

“You’re overthinking this,” Guo Ningyue said. “My brother isn’t that powerful.”

Guo Ningyue said this to leave Lin Yi a way out.

With so many relatives and friends watching, it would be embarrassing if nothing came of this call.

“Jiajia is Jiajia, and Zirui is Zirui. They can’t be compared at all,” Sun Guilan said.

“Besides, Lil Yi is so capable. If something nice isn’t arrange for Zirui, wouldn’t it disrespectful toward Lin Yi?”

Sun Guilin realized this point as she spoke, so she skilfully leveraged the trick of moral coercion.

“Open it and show everyone how powerful your brother is.”

Lin Yi naturally saw through Sun Guilin’s little scheme, but he didn’t pay any attention to it and simply lay on the bed to catch up on his sleep.

Zhao Zirui nodded and picked up the phone. He pretended to be calm despite not knowing anything.

“Little Zhao, there are a few problems with the accounts you sent over before the new year. The higher-ups think that you’re not capable enough. When you come back to work on the eighth day of the new year, pack your things. Then, go to the finance department to collect your salary.”

Zhao Zirui was stunned. “What did you say? Have I been fired?’

“I don’t think that’s what is happening. I don’t know what exactly happened. All I know is that you need to come on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year to pack your things.”

“He had been fine a moment ago. Why was my son suddenly fired?” Sun Guilan said.

‘Why can’t they be fired? These guys are all contract workers. Isn’t such an occurence normal?”

With that, the call was hung up and the room fell silent.

Only then did they realize that Zhao Zirui’s job wasn’t as good as they had imagined.

He was also an ordinary contract worker and could be fired at any time. Sun Guilan’s family of three was so embarrassed that they couldn’t raise their heads.

The last of their loincloths had been pulled off.

“Lil Yi, what’s wrong with you? Why did your brother get fired?” Sun Guilan asked.

‘Why are you asking me?” Lin Yi said.

“Didn’t his boss say that there was a problem with the accounts? Do I have to spell this out to you?”

“You must have said something,” Sun Guilan said hysterically.

“He had been fine all this while.. Did you say something bad about Zirui?”
