I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 917 Mom Misses You

The old prison guard looked at Lin Yi cautiously.

”Director Wang, who is this person?”

”Weʼre on the same side. Thereʼs no need to be afraid. Just speak freely.”

The old prison guard nodded and said, ”We were quite close at that time. I have his contact information.”

”Where is he now?”

”He is not based in Yangcheng, but in Yanjing.”

”I canʼt believe heʼs ran so far.” Lin Yi smiled bitterly, ”He sure knows how to have fun.”

”Itʼs mainly because he canʼt stay in Yangcheng anymore. After he was released from prison, there were still people looking to start trouble with him. I helped him get a job as a stevedore in Yanjing.”

”Whoʼs the one looking for trouble with him?” Lin Yi frowned.

”Wasnʼt he heavily injured back then? That family didnʼt seem to have any intention of letting him off. They hired many people in the prison. If I hadnʼt protected him back then, who knows what would have happened to him.”

”Who attacked him?” Lin Yi looked up and asked, ”Is he still locked up inside?”

Wang Mindong was shocked. ”Mr. Lin, calm down. We didnʼt manage this properly. Iʼll deal with it later and give you an answer.”

Lin Yi nodded and looked at the old prison guard.

”Can you give me his exact address and contact information?”

”Iʼll get a piece of paper for you to write down the details. You can go over and find him later.”

”Okay, thanks.”

A few minutes later, the old prison guard handed the note to Lin Yi. On it was the address of a lumber factory, as well as Wu Feiyueʼs contact information.

”Director Wang, Brother Zhang, Iʼve had to trouble you with this,” Lin Yi said.

”But donʼt tell him about this. If he finds out about this, he definitely wonʼt see me. Just pretend that I never came in the first place.”

”Alright, itʼs not a big deal. Weʼll help you keep this secret.”

Lin Yi thanked the two of them again and went out to buy a few cigarettes. He handed them to the guard at the door and asked them to pass them to Wang Mindong before taking a taxi back to the orphanage.

Wang Cuiping was happy to see Lin Yi return, but she wasnʼt as happy as the first time.

This was because Lin Yi had already come back once before.

Such was the relationship between parents and children.

If they didnʼt come back for a long time, they could hug each other until they cried.

However, if you stayed at home for more than a week, both parties would be annoyed to death.

Wang Cuiping was like this.

Therefore, she was not as happy seeing Lin Yi compared to seeing a child returning from studying in another state.

After dinner, Lin Yi chatted with Ji Qingyan for a while before lying down to rest.

When Wang Cuiping woke up at five the next morning, Lin Yi also woke up.

”Why are you up so early? Are you not used to sleeping here?”

”No, I have something to do. Iʼm going out to deal with it now,” Lin Yi said as he put on his clothes.

”Have you bought everything for the new year? Do you still have enough money in your pocket?”

”Itʼs enough. When the time comes, weʼll buy the kids some toys. Itʼll be a great way to end the year.”

”Thereʼs no need to save the money I gave you. Spend it freely.” Lin Yi said.

”Nowadays, things are going well, donʼt live so frugally. Take the time to help my dad change into some new clothes.”

”My daughter-in-law already bought him some clothes, so I didnʼt bother.”

”I bet if she hadnʼt bought them, you wouldnʼt have bought them either.”

”The main thing is that he doesnʼt have much to do. He works around the orphanage every day. Itʼs useless even if he wears new clothes.”

”Youʼre being too much of a hypocrite if you say that.” Lin Yi smiled.

”Donʼt you stay in the courtyard every day? Why do you still dye your hair?”

”Scram, scram, scram. Why do you still care about this? Iʼm free to do so.”

After being scolded, Lin Yi left with a smile.

Before taking a taxi, Lin Yi bought some steamed buns and had his breakfast.

When he arrived at the airport, he boarded his private jet and arrived at Yanjing Airport at around ten in the morning.

After getting off the plane, Lin Yi felt like a retard.

In January, it was minus eight or nine degrees Celsius in Yanjing. Despite this, he had run over here in a single-layer shirt.

If not for his good looks, others would probably quietly scold him for being an idiot.

At the airport store, Lin Yi bought a down jacket and took a taxi to the lumber factory.

It was almost the end of the year, and Lin Yi didnʼt know if the lumber factory would be on holiday.

In his impression, most companies would take a day off before the big day.

He could only pray that there would be no special holiday arrangements here.

Lin Yi followed the address and soon arrived at Xinglong Wood Factory.

Before he could enter, a large black dog started barking at him non-stop.

The old man at the door came out to take a look. He spoke to Lin Yi from a few meters away,

”What are you doing here?” The old man wrapped himself in a military coat and asked.

”Sir, I want to ask you about someone. Is there a person called Wu Feiyue working here?”

”Are you talking about Little Wu?” The old man said.

”He quit a month ago.”

”Do you know where he went?”

”Thereʼs a new residential area at Liuli Factory. I think heʼs working at the construction site there. Try your luck there.”

”Alright, thank you, Sir.”

With that, Lin Yi threw him a packet of cigarettes and took a taxi.

Lin Yi had never been to Yanjing, but he knew about Liuli Factory.

It was the largest antique trading center in the country.

95% of the counterfeit goods in Huaxia were produced here.

After getting off the car, Lin Yi looked around and saw a construction site.

If he really couldnʼt find Wu Feiyue, he had still had time to make a call.

The construction zone was very large, but fortunately, only a single floor had just been constructed, greatly reducing the difficulty of his search.

After walking around for more than an hour, Lin Yi still couldnʼt locate Wu Feiyue.

However, the Goddess of Luck didnʼt disappoint. When it was lunch break at the construction site, Lin Yi spotted Wu Feiyue in the queue of workers.

Wu Feiyue wasnʼt short. He was about the same height as Lin Yi, but he was much stronger than the latter.

His face was dark, and he was holding a lunch box in his hand. He was wearing a hard hat and gloves for work. He stuffed them into the pocket of his pants, making him look very experienced.

Although the temperature was a little low, he could still work in only a cotton coat.

”Brother.”

Lin Yi stood not far away and greeted.

The people who were queuing up to get food subconsciously looked at Lin Yi.

They did not know whose younger brother this person was.

Wu Feiyue was initially no different.

However, when he saw Lin Yi, Wu Feiyue seemed to be petrified. He stood rooted to the ground for a long time before coming back to his senses.

”Old Wu, where are you going? Itʼs time to eat.” A worker standing at the side said.

”No, Iʼm not hungry.”

After saying that, Wu Feiyue took his lunch box, lowered his head, and hurried in the opposite direction.𝙛𝐫𝑒𝐞𝘄ℯ𝘣𝚗𝘰𝘷𝙚𝘭. c𝘰m

”Iʼm already here, why are you still leaving?”

”Youʼve got the wrong person. Iʼm not your brother.”

” We have lived together for almost 20 years. As your younger brother, it would be too cruel of me if I couldnʼt recognize you.”

”What brother? Youʼve got the wrong person.”

”Come back with me. Itʼs been so many years. Mom misses you.”
