I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 928 Iʼve Been Waiting For You All Morning

”Get your hands out of there.”

Liang Ruoxu said with a red face as her body went limp.

”Iʼve traveled thousands of miles to get here. I canʼt go back empty-handed,” Lin Yi said, ”Havenʼt you heard of the saying ʼa thief never leaves empty-handedʼ?”

”Then be gentler. It hurts,” Liang Ruoxu said coquettishly.

She did not know why she was allowing this.

At some point, her emotions had gone out of control.

It was as if... a volcano had erupted.

”Alright, alright...”

After an unknown period of time, Liang Ruoxu twisted her body and returned to her seat.

”Why are you clamping your legs so tightly? Iʼm not even touching your legs.”

”You still have the cheek to ask.” Liang Ruoxu rolled her eyes at Lin Yi. ”This is all your fault.”

”How can you blame me for this?” Lin Yi said, ”Your body isnʼt under my control.”

”Nonsense.”

Liang Ruoxuʼs face was extremely red. ”Itʼs almost midnight. Hurry up and send me home.”

”Sure thing.”

Lin Yi then drove Liang Ruoxu back.

When she returned, she realized that the fireworks on the street had been taken away.

It was clear that the city enforcement officers in Yanjing were quite efficient.

However, when they reached the entrance of her house, Liang Ruoxu did not get out of the car immediately.

”When are you leaving?”

”Tomorrow,” Lin Yi said, ”I have nothing else to do after seeing you, so Iʼll go back tomorrow.”

”You donʼt often come here. Arenʼt you going to take a look around?” Liang Ruoxu said, ”I happen to be free tomorrow, so I can bring you around.”

”Iʼll come back when I have the time. My mother is still waiting for me to buy New Yearʼs goods for her,” Lin Yi said.

”Besides, itʼs winter. Thereʼs nothing fun to do in Yanjing. Iʼll come over when the weather is warmer.”

”Then Iʼll see you off tomorrow.”

”Thereʼs no need for that,” Lin Yi said, ”Iʼve already kissed you and touched you. Weʼre not outsiders, so I can see myself out.”

”Stop talking nonsense!” Liang Ruoxu pinched Lin Yi again out of habit.

”Iʼm leaving, you should go back too. Send me a message on WeChat when you get to the hotel.”

”Will do.”

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Just as Liang Ruoxu was about to get out of the car, she suddenly heard someone knocking on the window.

There were two city enforcement officers in uniforms, pointing at Lin Yi angrily.

”Open the window!”

Lin Yi tilted his head and exchanged glances with Liang Ruoxu.

The latterʼs expression was calm. ”Just open the window. Iʼm here, so what are you afraid of?”

”Tsk, tsk, tsk. Itʼs good to have a rich woman to look after you.”

With that, Lin Yi rolled down the car window.

”What is it?”

”You were the one who set off the fireworks by the roadside, right?”

”You guys recognized me?”

”You still have the cheek to ask this? We were waiting for you here!”

”Alright then, what are you going to do?”𝘧𝔯𝑒𝒆𝓌𝘦𝘣𝓷𝘰ѵ𝑒𝘭. 𝐜oｍ

”Youʼre playing dumb with me, arenʼt you?” One of the chubby city enforcement officers pointed at Lin Yi.

”As early as a month ago, a rule was issued that no fireworks were allowed in Yanjing City. You knew this, yet you actually drove back so brazenly? Let me tell you, if I donʼt lock you up for half a year today, I might as well give up my badge right now!”

”Youʼre just town security officers. I donʼt think you have the authority to enforce the law,” Liang Ruoxu said.

”Yo, are you giving me a lesson, young lady?”

”Iʼm telling the truth,” Liang Ruoxu said.

”I wonʼt pursue the issue of your attitude towards law enforcement, so I also hope that you wonʼt pursue this matter.”

The two city enforcement officers were stunned for a moment before they burst out laughing.

”Are you threatening us? Are you trying to scare us here in Yanjing City?”

Liang Ruoxu pointed at the neighborhood.

”I live right up there. Do you think Iʼm trying to scare you?”

Upon hearing this, the two city enforcement officers were stunned. They looked at the neighborhood beside them and became a little timid.

They were in charge of this area and knew the situation of this district like the back of their hands.

The people who lived here were all extraordinary. Not a single one of them was someone they could afford to provoke.

After all, not everyone could live in a house in the Second Ring Road.

”Young lady, I can tell at a glance that youʼre a local. You must be experienced to try to fool me with this trick.” The fat city enforcement officer said.

”But let me tell you something. Iʼve been in this job for three years. Iʼve seen all kinds of people. Do you think you can trick me? Get out of the car now. Both of you, come with me.”

”I advise you to cooperate. Otherwise, todayʼs matter will become even more serious!” The fat city enforcement officerʼs companion said.

”Do you think Iʼm trying to fool you?” Liang Ruoxu said coldly.

”Why? Do you think that because youʼre good-looking, weʼll take pity on you and give you a chance?” The fat city enforcement officer said.

”This matter is not over. I must deal with both of you properly. Did you really think I donʼt know anything? That you can easily fool me?”

Liang Ruoxu didnʼt speak and opened the glovebox in front of the passenger seat, but found nothing.

Then, she opened the armrest box, rummaged through the miscellaneous items inside, and found a long rectangular card, which was a special pass issued by the drug regulatory authority.

Liang Ruoxu waved the card in front of the two city enforcement officers. ”Do you recognize this thing?”

The city enforcement officer were dumbfounded. This kind of pass was not something ordinary people could get their hands on.

”Go check the license plate number and see who this car belongs to. When youʼre doing your job in the future, open your eyes properly. Donʼt stop just anyoneʼs car.”

The two city enforcement officers immediately stood at attention and saluted Lin Yi and Liang Ruoxu.

”I-I understand.”

Lin Yi secretly gave her a thumbs up. ”Awesome.”

In order to maintain her image, Liang Ruoxu did not say anything. She simply opened the car door, got out of the car, and walked towards her neighborhood.

Lin Yi waved at the two city enforcement officers and drove back to Pangu Hotel.

However, before returning to his room, he ordered some side dishes and white wine to drink when he got back.

Just as Lin Yi had expected, Wu Feiyue was still awake.

”I knew you werenʼt asleep yet. I got something for us to drink later,” Lin Yi said.

”Alright.” Wu Feiyue said.

”Itʼs been more than five years.”

”Thatʼs right.” Lin Yi filled Wu Feiyueʼs glass to the brim. ”What plans do you have for the future? I know people in Yanjing, Yangcheng, and Zhonghai. I can help you anywhere you plan to go.”

”Donʼt. Let me mix around by myself.” Wu Feiyue said.

”Although I might not be able to reach your level in my life, no matter what, Iʼm still your big brother. Thereʼs no way I can ask you for help.”

Lin Yi held his wine glass as he recalled what Ji Qingyan had said earlier.

In a family, the head would have a sense of pride and want to be the best in the family.

This was the same fo bothr Ji Qingyan and Wu Feiyue.

”Alright, I wonʼt interfere in this matter, but let me know if you need any help.”

”Thatʼs good enough for me.” Wu Feiyue raised his wine glass. ”Have a sip.”

They drank until three oʼclock in the morning. When they woke up the next morning, it was already past ten.

The two of them packed up briefly and went to the hotel to eat something before taking a taxi to the airport. Meanwhile, they left Chen Yanʼs car at the hotel.

However, the moment Lin Yi stepped out of the door, he saw Li Jiani walking towards him.

”Youʼre finally here. Iʼve been waiting for you the whole morning.”
