I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 916 Doesnʼt Even Consider Us

”Is it not possible to investigate this?” Lin Yi asked.

”What do you think?”

”Hello, Sir. We have reserved information about the prisoner here, but according to the rules, it canʼt be made public. So Iʼm sorry, I canʼt help you.”

Feng Jie said politely, not wanting Lin Yi get embarrassed.

”This matter is very important to me. Can we do this through the back door? I know the municipal party secretary of Yangcheng.”

The two female prison guards were stunned.

This was a big shot!

He even knew the municipal party secretary?!

”Are you dreaming? You are really saying that you know the party secretary? Who do you think you are?” Liu Zhi pointed at Lin Yi.

”Do you believe that I can arrest you just because of your words?!”

Lin Yi smiled but wasnʼt angry.

”Then Iʼll take care of this myself.”

With that, Lin Yi took his phone and turned to leave.

”Brother Liu, thatʼs not very good.” Feng Jie said, ”Heʼs here to do something. If heʼs not allowed to do it, just tell him.”

”I want to have a good talk with him.” Liu Zhi snorted coldly. ”He came up and said that he knows the municipal party secretary. Who does he think he is? How can he know someone as important as Secretary Wu?”

As if he was not yet satisfied, Liu Zhi began lecturing again.

”On the other hand, if Iʼm not here, you two would have believed him. Do you know how serious this matter is?!”

The two of them ignored Liu Zhi. The short-haired prison guard pulled Feng Jie and said, ”I think heʼs trying to use his position to take revenge.”

”Iʼve noticed it a long time ago,” Feng Jie said. ”Wait here. Iʼll go out and take a look.”

”You really want to ask for his WeChat?”

”The WeChat thing isnʼt important. Iʼll go comfort him,” Feng Jie said. ”This is called taking advantage of the situation. Who knows, I might get unexpected gains.”

”Hehe, good luck.” The short-haired female prison guard said, ”If you can really take him down, not only will I buy you the Dior perfume, but I will also give you a big red packet.”

”Itʼs a deal.”

Seeing Feng Jie get up and leave, Liu Zhi tilted his head and took a look. He could not help but feel even angrier, but he could not say anything. After all, he was only an officer.𝙛𝘳𝐞𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝗻𝘰ѵ𝗲𝙡. 𝑐o𝓶

Walking out of the office, Feng Jie saw Lin Yi playing games on his phone. He didnʼt seem discouraged at all.

”Sir, we really donʼt have the ability to help you with your business. Itʼs useless even if you wait here,” Feng Jie said in the gentlest tone she had ever used in her life, afraid that she would hurt Lin Yiʼs pride.

”Itʼs fine. Iʼm not doing anything anymore. Iʼm just waiting for someone here.”

”Waiting for someone? Is a friend coming?”

”I donʼt know who it is either. They just said that someone will come and receive me later.”

”Uh...” Feng Jie was a little stunned. Who was he looking for?

Not long after, Feng Jie heard hurried footsteps. She turned her head and realized that it was the warden.

Furthermore, he was jogging.

”Director Wang.”

According to the administrative organization, the prison was under the direct jurisdiction of the provincial government, and the wardens were all departmental cadres.

Seeing Feng Jie, Wang Mindong nodded, looking a little unhappy.

”Whatʼs wrong with you guys? Mr. Lin is here. Why didnʼt you receive him? You even let him sit outside!”

Wang Mindong was about to explode in anger. Secretary Wu had personally called to tell him about this.

If things didnʼt go well, he would be in trouble.

”I, I...”

Feng Jie was already in a daze. It took her a few seconds to react.

This good-looking little brother seemed to be really extraordinary.

”Alright, thank you, Director Wang.”

”Letʼs go. This is not the place to talk. Letʼs go to my office.”

Otherwise, Director Wang wouldnʼt have personally received him and wouldnʼt have been so angry.

Especially considering he was usually quite protective of them.

Hearing Wang Mindongʼs voice, Liu Zhi and the short-haired prison guard ran out.

”Director Wang.” The two of them greeted him in unison.

”Liu Zhi, youʼre a veteran of the institute. What are you doing?! Donʼt you know how to receive people?!”

Liu Zhi was scared silly.

Could it be that he really knew Secretary Wu?

”Director Wang, calm down.” Lin Yi smiled. ”Heʼs already received me, but he chased me out after that.”

”The nerve!” Wang Mindong was full of anger. ”Wait for me to come back and deal with you later!”

With that, Wang Mindong looked at Lin Yi amiably.

”Mr. Lin, if you need anything in the future, just call me directly. Thereʼs no need to come in person, and thereʼs no need to trouble Secretary Wu. As long as itʼs something I can do, Iʼll definitely help you.”

”Alright, thank you, Director Wang.”

”Letʼs go. This is not the place to talk. Letʼs go to my office.”

”Youʼre too kind.”

He watched as the two of them left.

Feng Jie and her colleaguesʼ eyes were filled with stars.

”Heʼs so good-looking and powerful. Heʼs amazing,” Feng Jie said.

”Most importantly, he doesnʼt put on any airs. This is really outstanding.”

”Itʼs not that he isnʼt putting on airs. Itʼs just that at his level, he doesnʼt even need to consider us.” Feng Jie said, ”Itʼs just like how rich people always greet beggars with a smile.”

”Thatʼs true. Weʼre of different classes.”

After saying that, the two of them looked at Liu Zhi with a hint of mockery.

Only someone like him, who was proud in his ignorance, would strut around so arrogantly all day.

This was perfect. It was just a question of whether he would remain humble after this lesson in the future.

...

When they arrived at the office, Wang Mindong welcomed Lin Yi to the sofa and prepared a pot of tea.

”Mr. Lin, Secretary Wu said on the phone just now that he wanted me to cooperate fully with you. If thereʼs anything you need, just tell me.”

From the way Wang Mindong spoke, Lin Yi knew that he was a wily old fox.

He displayed his enthusiasm while simultaneously protecting Wu Zhaoyouʼs image. It could be said to be killing two birds with one stone.

”I want to find someone. His name is Wu Feiyue. He was released three months ago. I want to check his contact information. Do you have it?”

”Mr. Lin, this matter might not be easy to handle. We prisoners will indeed leave some information, Iʼm not sure if we can find it,” Wang Mindong said. ”I can only try my best to do this for you.”

”Itʼs fine. Just help me look into this. It doesnʼt matter if you canʼt find anything.”

”Alright, Iʼll check it now.”

In order to show his sincerity, Wang Mindong did not call anyone else and personally checked his computer.

Lin Yi obtained the phone number he left behind, but he couldnʼt get through.

”Donʼt be anxious. I still have some impression of this person. When he was serving his sentence, he had a good relationship with one of the officers. I can try to call him over to help you ask about him, but if even he doesnʼt know anything, I really canʼt do anything else.” Wang Mindong said apologetically.

”After serving his sentence, he became a legal citizen. Without any special reasons, we canʼt interfere in his life.”

”Itʼs alright, Iʼve troubled you enough, Director Wang,” Lin Yi smiled.

”Weʼre all on the same side. Thereʼs no need to stand on ceremony.”

Wang Mindong made a call and brought over an old prison guard in his forties.

”Old Zhang, three months ago, a prisoner named Wu Feiyue was released from the prison. You should still remember him, right?” Wang Mindong said.

”Mr. Lin wants to ask about his situation. Tell him what you can.”
