844 An Unexpected Meeting

“Um…”

The middle-aged man was stunned for a moment, as if he did not seem to understand.

“Sir, your things are all packed. Here is your card as well. Please take it.”

Lin Yi nodded and walked out of Van Cleef and Arpels, preparing to visit Harry Winston.

!!
“Little Brother, you’re too biased. You said you wanted to take a look at our shop, but you actually bought your stuff at the Van Cleef and Arpels.”

“That’s right. Moreover, he bought two items at once. At least leave one of those for us.”

“Who said I’m only getting two things?” Lin Yi said.

“I’m going to buy four. I’ll buy two from them and buy two from your shop. I’ll share the rain and dew equally. Aren’t you satisfied with this?”

“Ah? Four? Little Brother, can you handle so many?”

“Right now, I still have an average of four hours a day, so four isn’t a problem.”

“Little Brother, you’re amazing. Come to our shop and take a look.”

The two female shop assistants welcomed Lin Yi in. “Little Brother, you bought a bracelet and necklace over there. Do you want to take a look at our shop’s rings?”

“I’ll go for that.”

“Do you have a budget?”

“No,” Lin Yi said, “I just want something bigger.”

“Hehe, how big is bigger? Will my 37B do?”

“That won’t do. It has to be at least 36D.”

“Then our manager will have to step in, haha…”

After teasing the shop assistants for a while, Lin Yi was brought to the counter.

“Little Brother, look at this. It’s our shop’s treasure. It’s an octagonal 18-carat diamond with a platinum base. However, the price is a little expensive.”

Lin Yi looked at the price. “Five million dollars?”

“Yes, it’s not cheap,” the female shop assistant said a little guiltily. “But there are other styles in the shop. I’ll show them to you.”

“No need, this will do,” Lin Yi said. “It’s just a Christmas present, not a proposal. There’s no need to be so picky.”

Seeing Lin Yi’s calm expression, the female shop assistant was sure that this little brother was really a super rich second-generation heir.

After choosing Ji Qingyan’s present, the only one left was Liang Ruoxu.

However, Lin Yi was a little conflicted about this.

These precious things were not suitable for her. Otherwise, she might get accused by the higher-ups of corruption.

However, they could not be too cheap either. It had to be something that could be hidden. This was a little difficult.

After making a round in the shop, Lin Yi saw a pair of blue earrings on the counter and asked,

“How much is this?”

“This is also a platinum accessory, but it’s a South African blue diamond. Each one is a carat. It’s priced at 5.3 million yuan.”

“Alright, this is good. It looks fake. I’ll take this.”

“Um…”

If an ordinary person said this, the shop assistant would probably have flown into a rage.

However, Lin Yi wasn’t an ordinary person, because he was handsome and rich.

“Little brother, we’re a licensed shop of Harry Winston. We never sell fake goods,” the female shop assistant explained.

“However, the people in the country find diamonds more recognizable. Blue diamonds are rare goods. There aren’t many of them in the country. It’s indeed easy for people to assume they are fakes and not recognize them.”

“That’s what I’m going for. Her identity is special. It’s not appropriate for her to wear something too expensive.”

“Um… how special is her identity?”

“Don’t ask around, or you’ll be closed down.”

“I don’t think so. We belong to Times Square.”

“If she’s unhappy, your whole Times Square will be closed. Your shop is nothing.”

The employees of Harry Winston were dumbfounded.

How powerful must she be to be able to seal off the entire Times Square?!

“Alright, don’t just stand there. Swipe my card.”

“Okay, okay, okay. I’ll wrap it up for you.”

Ten minutes later, everything was packed up, and he had even thoughtfully written a message. This was quite considerate, and it was a little better than the service from Van Cleef & Arpels.

However, in order to protect Ji Qingyan and Liang Ruoxu’s privacy, Lin Yi had used letters instead.

After shopping, Lin Yi hid the gift in a corner of the car to avoid them being discovered. Then, he called Ji Qingyan.

“I just finished my work. Is there anything you want to eat? I’ll bring it back for you.”

“I haven’t gone back yet, but can you buy some glutinous rice balls? I want to eat that.”

“Huh? Why aren’t you back yet?”

“Yuanyuan and I have just finished eating. We’re by the river. Do you want to come?”

“F*ck, what does He Yuanyuan mean by this? She already has a man, yet she’s still pursuing my wife.”

Upon hearing the word ‘wife’, Ji Qingyan smiled. “It’s mainly because we haven’t been out shopping alone like this for a long time, so we overan a little today. Hehe.”

“Send me a location. I’ll go over now.”

“Uh-uh.”

After hanging up, Lin Yi went to the basement of the mall and bought some of Ji Qingyan’s favorite glutinous rice balls. Then, he followed the location marker and went to the riverside.

Ji Qingyan was wearing a beige windbreaker and blue printed pants. She was wearing a pair of small boots. The wind by the river blew slightly, and everyone’s gaze fell on her.

He Yuanyuan was wearing a gray windbreaker and leggings, which did not differentiate much from Ji Qingyan’s attire.

“Lin Yi, come quickly. I bought you a box of fried rice cakes just now. They’re especially delicious.”

Upon seeing Lin Yi, Ji Qingyan ran over and handed the delicious food to him.

“Hey, where are my glutinous rice ball?”

“We’ll eat them at home. There are so many people here. It’ll be too indecent.”

Ji Qingyan cutely extended a finger.

“I’ll eat one quietly.”

“That won’t do either. If He Yuanyuan sees this, she’ll definitely snatch it from you. We’ll eat it quietly when we get home later.”

“Hey, hey, hey, what do you mean bt this? I’ve given up all my youth for the company. What’s wrong with eating one of your glutinous rice balls?” He Yuanyuan shouted.

“If you want to eat, go to Gao Zongyuan. Don’t come to me.”

“I really don’t understand why Senior Sister has taken a fancy to you. What a waste of my Senior Sister’s talent,” He Yuanyuan complained.

“What a coincidence. I have the same question about you.”

“Do you also think that you’re not worthy of my senior sister?”

“No, no, no. My question is, why would Gao Zongyuan like you?”

“F*ck, I’m also very popular.”

“Alright, alright. The two of you can argue by yourselves.” Ji Qingyan grumbled, “You’re acting like this the moment you meet. Seriously.”

“Senior Sister, let’s go. Ignore him.”

He Yuanyuan held Ji Qingyan’s arm and walked in front of him. Lin Yi had no choice but to follow behind.

He was happy to be free and chat on WeChat.

Suddenly, Lin Yi saw Ji Qingyan and He Yuanyuan stop in their tracks.

He looked up and was surprised to see a man in a black suit standing about ten meters in front of them.

The man wore glasses and looked at He Yuanyuan as well.

‘Huh?’

Wasn’t this He Yuanyuan’s ex-boyfriend, Qiu Xucheng? Have they actually bumped into each other here?
