I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 812 - 812 Are You Sure This Is Okay?

812 Are You Sure This Is Okay?

That night, after Lin Yi finished his work and was about to go to bed, he received a call from Zhang Xiaoyu.

“What’s going on now?”

“Brother Lin, it’s bad. There are many videos on the short video platforms of Kuaishou and Douyin. They say that you’re ugly and relying on your character to deceive others.”

Lin Yi’s mind was filled with confusion.

!!
“What kind of weird remark is that?”

“Although the comments are very strange, there are really people who believe it.” Zhang Xiaoyu said anxiously.

“A few of them went overboard. They claimed that they were your ex-girlfriends and said you’d been disfigured in a fire.

“Someone else said that you were splashed with sulfuric acid when you were in college.

“There are also people who say that your long-lost aunt was abandoned by her parents because she was ugly.

“In short, there are all kinds of rumors circulating. The one common point is that they’re all saying that you’re ugly.”

Lin Yi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

“I’ve been live streaming for so long and everything has been calm. We’re about to do a big stream tomorrow, but something like this suddenly happened. It must be their platform’s doing.”

“I think so too, but we can’t just sit back and do nothing. We have to think of a way to clarify the matter. Otherwise, we won’t be able to sell our goods.”

“It doesn’t matter. I’m too lazy to pay attention to such trivial matters,” Lin Yi said casually.

“I don’t want to be a good-looking streamer at all. Besides, the audience isn’t looking at me for my face. Calm down.”

“But I really want to post your photo and slap their faces. I feel like I can’t hold it in anymore.”

“I don’t think you’re defending me. You’re just trying to slap them in the face to make yourself feel good.”

“Aiya, don’t say that. We’ve known each other for so long. No matter what, we have some feelings for each other.”

“Alright, you don’t have to take this matter to heart. Do whatever you want.”

“Brother Lin, I have a question I’ve always wanted to ask.”

“Tell me.”

“There are clearly many people slandering you, and some people are secretly causing trouble for you. Why aren’t you angry? I feel like I’m about to explode from anger.”

“Then think about it carefully. Are all those people who can’t stand me and trying to trip me up all men?”

“That’s right.”

“They’re jealous because they can’t get any good-looking women. That’s why they’re doing this.”

“Brother Lin, I’m serious. If I were a man, I would have turned you into a villain and stabbed you with a needle when I got home.”

“Alright, let’s not talk about those useless things. It’s getting late. There’s still a lot of things for the two of us to do tomorrow.”

“Got it. Good night, Brother Lin.”

The next morning, Lin Yi had just woken up when he received a call from Li Lin.

“Why are you calling so early?” Lin Yi said in a daze.

“How can you still sleep? There are many posts and videos about you on the Internet. Do you know about this?”

“We found out last night. Why are you making such a fuss?”

Lin Yi’s answer stunned Li Lin.

Was this reaction considered a fuss?

Events such as live broadcasts were mostly supported by female audiences.

And most women still somewhat cared about appearances.

After hearing this news, they definitely wouldn’t buy anything from you, so this event couldn’t proceed.

This would be a huge loss for Douyu.

“Aren’t you afraid of the rumors affecting the sale of your goods?”

“I’m someone who speaks with my strength. It’s not like you don’t already know this.”

“But this is a time where looks matter.”

“You can conquer the audience with temperament alone. Anyway, you don’t have to worry.”

Li Lin sighed and didn’t seem to want to talk about this topic anymore.

“The corresponding staff and I have already arrived at Zhonghai. We will arrive at the Peninsula Hotel in about an hour to begin preparing for tonight’s live stream. If you have nothing to do during the day, you can come over and take a look. There are many details that need to be discussed with you.”

“Alright, go ahead. I’ll come over after I’m done packing.”

“Alright, let’s talk when we meet.”

After hanging up on Li Lin, Lin Yi got up and tidied up.

She saw Ji Qingyan busying herself with breakfast in the kitchen, so she went down to help out as well. It was as if both husband and wife were returning home.

“What time is your live broadcast tonight?” Ji Qingyan asked during dinner.

“Eight o’clock in the evening, but it’s hard to say when the live stream will end. It might even end at midnight.”

“Do you want me to help you in your stream?”

“You don’t have to.”

“I won’t wear a dress. I’ll wear pants.”

“That won’t do either. Don’t show your face.”

“In that case, I won’t go in the limelight at all. Can I just watch from the side?”

“Sure, I won’t stop you.” Lin Yi smiled.

After breakfast, Lin Yi sent Ji Qingyan to the company and drove to the Peninsula Hotel.

However, in order to maintain his mysterious appearance, Lin Yi put on a mask and sunglasses, causing the security guards at the door to not recognize him.

“President Lin, you’re here.”

Lin Yi was shocked to see Wang Tianlong come up to greet him.

“I’m already dressed like this. How can you still recognize me?”

Wang Tianlong chuckled. “Although you’re wearing a mask and sunglasses, these things can’t hide your mature manly temperament at all, so I recognized you at a glance.”

Lin Yi patted Wang Tianlong’s shoulder.

“From the first day I met you, I felt that you were developing. I was right.”

“Hehe, thank you for your praise, Boss Lin.” Wang Tianlong said with a smile.

“President Lin, you haven’t been to the hotel in a long time. Please guide the people below.”

“I don’t care about guiding you, but I do have a job for you.”

“President Lin, please tell me. I promise to complete the mission.”

“I want to create a membership card. You can think of this membership card as a symbol of status. It’ll let you enter some high-end places. You can skip the queue and appointments. There will also be exclusive discounts. Just like Amex’s black card, one should be able to tell at a glance how awesome this thing is. In short, you have to make this thing magical. Do you understand what I mean?”

“No problem. I don’t think it’s a big problem.”

Lin Yi nodded. He didn’t think it was a big problem either.

Wang Tianlong was more suited to do such a pretentious job.

Lin Yi then sent Qin Han, Liang Jinming, and Gao Zongyuan’s phone numbers to Wang Tianlong.

Back then, this idea was jointly thought up by the four of them. Now, Wang Tianlong could communicate with them and save Lin Yi a lot of fuss.

After giving instructions, Lin Yi went to the venue on the first floor.

As soon as he entered, he saw Li Lin, who was busy.

At this moment, Li Lin also saw him.

Seeing that Lin Yi was still wearing a mask and sunglasses, Li Lin frowned slightly and subconsciously looked at Lin Yi.

“Are you sure this is okay?”
