Chapter 2663: Chapter 74: Famine Disaster (2)

The corrupted Barbarian God, in turn, twists the believers’ minds.

The believers’ minds further degrade, creating more massacres to nourish the Barbarian God.

The Barbarian God then ”feeds back” to the believers...

In this way, the deity and believers nourish each other, never to return from the path of corruption.

Over time, both fall to become an ”Evil God” and the Evil God’s minions.

This is one of the ways an Evil God is born.

Mo Hua remained silent.

He initially speculated that the ”Evil God” of the Shugu Skill Department might be related to the Master of the Great Wilderness.

Now it seems this guess might be somewhat misguided.

An Evil God is inherently capable of ”hatching” from the mind and evil deeds of its followers.

The Barbarian God of Shugu might be precisely such an Evil God transformed from the evil deeds of its believers.

Mo Hua asked Iron Skill Bone, ”Have all the people from the Danque Tribe been taken by you to be sacrificed to the Barbarian God?”

Iron Skill Bone nodded and said, ”They are ’offerings,’ but also food, living ’provisions.’

”Now there’s famine, and everyone has nothing to eat. So, some good ’provisions’ need to be stored up. Every major sacrifice, when we worship the Barbarian God, we can feast.”

”The great Barbarian God will share these... living provisions with us.”

They consume human flesh, while the Barbarian God enjoys the believers’ sins and the pain, fear, and despair before the eaten are dead.

Mo Hua silently sighed in his heart.

Perhaps this is the real Great Wilderness.

Extreme famine, creating a world where humans eat humans, also breeds various depraved deities.

In the history of the Great Wilderness, famines, droughts, wars, and other disasters are frequent events.

It seems that only the land of the Great Wilderness, continuously bearing human sins and hatching them generation after generation, can birth a ”Great Evil God” of such high grade and divine position as the Master of the Great Wilderness.

Therefore, since the Great Wilderness land can birth such a ”Great Evil God,” it’s not surprising to hatch other Evil Gods.

Mo Hua glanced at Iron Skill Bone and asked:

”Where have you stored the people of the Danque Tribe... and other ’provisions’?”

Iron Skill Bone hesitated and said, ”In... in the secret department of Shugu.”

The so-called secret department refers to some secret tribal strongholds established by Barbaric Wilderness forces, very hidden, never revealed to outsiders.

”Take me there,” said Mo Hua.

Iron Skill Bone was indecisive.

Since it’s a ”secret department,” naturally he cannot take outsiders there; otherwise, he would violate tribal rules and would surely be punished by the great Barbarian God.

Yet, the youth before him, with wicked means, is also shocking.

After much struggle, Iron Skill Bone gritted his teeth and said:

”I... dare not; otherwise, the great Barbarian God will blame me.”

Mo Hua’s gaze flickered, and he said, ”The great Barbarian God will blame you but may not kill you. After all, you are its devoted believer.”

”But I am different. If I blame you, you’re doomed.”

”Think about it. If you die, you can’t be loyal to the great Barbarian God. Isn’t that ’disrespect’ to the great Barbarian God?”

”Therefore, listen to me, take me to the Shugu secret department, preserve your life, keep your useful body, and you can continue to serve your great Barbarian God. Instead, it shows your devotion to the great Barbarian God.”

”Therefore, listening to me means being loyal to your great Barbarian God...”

Iron Skill Bone felt his brain twisting into knots.

His forehead hurt, vaguely feeling like his brain was about to grow.

Such absurd words, he didn’t know how this malicious youth managed to say them.

But more absurd was, when he thought carefully, he realized this malicious youth made sense.

If he died and couldn’t sacrifice for the great Barbarian God, isn’t that disrespectful?

Only by preserving his life can he have the possibility to be loyal to the great Barbarian God.

And compared to death, he was more afraid of the torment that might be worse than death inflicted by this ”Evil Ghost”-like youth.

Iron Skill Bone understood and said solemnly, ”Fine, I’ll take you.”

Mo Hua nodded.

Since Iron Skill Bone complied, there was no need to ”interrogate” him further.

As for the ”inscription” method to be studied later.

The priority is to first resolve the matter of the Danque Tribe.

Mo Hua then left the cave and gathered with Dan Zhu, Barbarian General Chi Feng, Elder Bachuan, and Elder Ba Shan, whose mind was slightly cleared after being whipped and bled, to discuss the next steps.

Mo Hua first shared the information he extracted from Iron Skill Bone with everyone.

Especially concerning the ”famine.”

Everyone’s expressions turned grim.

Chi Feng frowned and said, ”Iron Skill Bone’s words might not be trustworthy... In the territory of our Danque Tribe, monster hunting and planting are normal, with no signs of ’famine.’

Dan Zhu shook his head, ”If famine spreads from the northwest, it just hasn’t reached our Danque Tribe yet. Being affected is probably only a matter of time.”

Mo Hua nodded slightly, his gaze heavy:

”If the Danque Tribe really faces famine, the consequences could be severe.”

”But if the Danque Tribe isn’t affected by famine, the consequences might be... even worse.”

Dan Zhu and Chi Feng were stunned.

Second Elder Ba Shan also didn’t understand why being unaffected by famine could have more severe consequences.

But after pondering briefly, everyone understood and felt deep chills in their hearts.

When everyone else is affected, and you are not.

In others’ eyes, you become a ”juicy target.”

The Danque Tribe will become a ”target of all,” surrounded by hungry wolves. All starving tribes will come to eradicate the Danque Tribe to divide a mouthful of flesh.

Dan Zhu said, ”I’ll send someone to deliver a message back to the main tribe, informing my father of all this, for early planning.”
