Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2657: Chapter 72: The Big Guy

He was at the Golden Core, and had previously used his Divine Sense to scan the mountain cave back and forth many times, without detecting the slightest danger, so he hadn’t paid it much mind.

Elder Ba Shan thus directly walked toward the inside of the mountain cave.

But when he actually arrived in front of the cave, he still sensed a faint, elusive chill.

It seemed that there truly was something strange inside the cave.

Elder Ba Shan stopped, feeling uncertain, unsure whether he should enter or not.

Just as he hesitated, he suddenly heard a voice from behind:

”Elder Ba Shan, don’t go in.”

This was Mo Hua ”kindly” reminding him.

But Mo Hua’s reminder triggered Elder Ba Shan’s rebellious spirit instead.

As the guardian Elder of the Young Master Dan Zhu, Ba Shan had always regarded Mo Hua as a fraud from the start.

He had always been discontent with the so-called ”Mr. Witch” who ”bewitched” the Young Master with delusions, making him follow orders.

The fraud didn’t want him to enter the cave.

So, he insisted on going in.

Ignoring Mo Hua’s obstruction, Elder Ba Shan directly walked into the cave, but shortly after, he came out.

Because the cave was really narrow, with a single glance to the end, it was plain and unremarkable, with nothing inside.

Elder Ba Shan took a few steps, found nothing, and naturally left the cave.

After leaving the cave, Elder Ba Shan said, ”Young Master, there is nothing strange in this cave...”

But Mo Hua’s expression turned serious as he stared at Ba Shan for a few moments and said gravely, ”Tie up Elder Ba Shan with chains.”

Elder Ba Shan was taken aback.

Dan Zhu and the others were equally shocked, ”Gentleman, what is this...”

Mo Hua solemnly stated, ”Elder Ba Shan is ’possessed.’ Soon, he’ll go mad, and we must restrain him now, or the consequences will be severe.”

Elder Ba Shan angrily responded:

”Mr. Witch, you pretty boy, what nonsense are you spewing?! Possessed? Wouldn’t I know if I’m possessed? Don’t you dare speak slander!”

Mo Hua remained calm, ”See, he’s already getting irritable.”

Dan Zhu, with no other option, said, ”Then... tie him up first.”

Elder Ba Shan opened his mouth wide, his heart almost breaking.

He had diligently served, guarding the Young Master for over thirty years, only for the Young Master to order his binding.

Elder Ba Shan trembled, ”Young Master! You mustn’t believe such slander! This kid is slandering me with ill intentions!”

Dan Zhu was equally troubled and could only say, ”Tie him up first...”

The Barbarian General Chi Feng stepped forward, took out chains, and bound Elder Ba Shan.

Though Elder Ba Shan was angry, he did not resist in front of Chi Feng, just appeared heartbroken and dejected.

Chi Feng frowned slightly, not knowing what Mo Hua was up to.

If this was merely getting rid of dissenters, the method was too crude.

Yet before he could think further, a wave of Evil Qi surged, causing Chi Feng’s expression to change. Looking down, he saw Ba Shan, bound in chains, with bloodshot eyes and a ferocious face, drool dripping from his mouth, seemingly ready to devour someone.

”Not good!”

Chi Feng’s heart trembled, and he immediately pressed down on Ba Shan’s shoulder.

But at this moment, Ba Shan had inexplicably erupted with great strength.

Even Chi Feng, at the Golden Core Middle Stage, found it hard to hold him down.

Ba Shan opened his mouth wide, attempting to bite Chi Feng’s hand, as if to tear off a piece of flesh and swallow it.

Chi Feng twisted his hand to grasp Ba Shan’s head.

Ba Shan still didn’t settle down, his whole body swelling with muscle, struggling desperately.

Fortunately, Mo Hua had preemptively instructed Chi Feng to bind Ba Shan with chains, otherwise, they would not have been able to restrain him in such a short time.

If Ba Shan went wild, biting and eating people at random, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Chi Feng had no choice but to forcibly use strength to lock Ba Shan’s limbs.

But dragging it out like this wasn’t a solution.

No one knew how long Ba Shan would remain mad.

Dan Zhu and the others had grave expressions.

At this moment, Mo Hua said:

”Hang Elder Ba Shan upside-down by the feet on a tree so that his head faces the ground. This way, the Evil Qi rises and won’t enter the brain.”

Chi Feng hesitated for a moment. Although it seemed a bit absurd, he nodded and complied.

Elder Ba Shan was hung upside-down on a nearby large tree, struggling like a Bear Pi.

Mo Hua said, ”Whip him with an iron whip, let him bleed a little, and expel the Evil Qi.”

Chi Feng took out an iron whip and lashed Ba Shan repeatedly.

Fellow guard Elder Bachuan felt somewhat uneasy but, given Ba Shan’s extraordinarily bizarre state, he was not in a position to say more.

He just hoped that Mr. Witch’s method could save Ba Shan.

After dozens of whips, the previously out-of-control Ba Shan actually gradually regained consciousness.

He was in utter pain, covered in blood, and realized he was being hung and whipped, leaving him shocked, bewildered, and in agony.

”Lord Chi Feng, why is this happening...”

Chi Feng frowned at Ba Shan, asking cautiously, ”Do you remember what you just did?”

Ba Shan thought back for a moment, suddenly recalling the ”urge to eat people” that surged in his heart before he lost memory, and his face turned ashen.

”I...”

Ba Shan, confused and dazed, couldn’t speak.

Chi Feng gripped the iron whip, his expression grave.

Dan Zhu shared the same worried look. Ba Shan had been his loyal guard since childhood, and their bond ran deep.

Dan Zhu looked at Mo Hua.

Mo Hua remained silent, saying nothing.

Bachuan hurriedly bowed to Mo Hua, respectfully requesting, ”Please, Mr. Witch, find a way... to save Elder Ba Shan...”

Mo Hua was silent for a moment and was about to speak when he suddenly heard a sharp laugh.
