Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 199 The Secret is Revealed! The meeting room fell into silence once again, with everyone contemplating the current situation and countermeasures.

At this moment, the Secretary of State suddenly spoke up, his voice breaking the silence:

”I also agree with the President’s resolution.”

”Furthermore, according to our investigations, the current situation is extremely favorable to us.”

”Nowadays, the Dragon Kingdom is basically unable to purchase international energy!”

Hearing this news, a smile finally appeared on President Biden’s face, as if he saw a glimmer of hope.

Not only him, but the other high-ranking officials also breathed a sigh of relief.

President Biden nodded slightly and said:

”Although we are also suffering from an energy crisis domestically, we have reserved plenty of energy in advance. Coupled with our own domestic energy reserves, we can definitely last longer than the Dragon Kingdom.”

”The final winner of this contest will definitely be us.”

His words were filled with confidence and determination, as if he had already seen the dawn of victory.

However, just at this moment, the head of the National Energy Agency suddenly spoke up. His expression was very calm, but the words he spoke caused everyone’s hearts to tighten once again.

”According to our investigation, the Dragon Kingdom has indeed stopped importing international energy. However, we have also discovered that after experiencing a brief peak, domestic energy prices in the Dragon Kingdom have returned to their previous levels!”

”Overall, they have not skyrocketed!”

”And after our in-depth investigation, we discovered that the Dragon Kingdom has actually released their energy reserves in order to stabilize current energy prices.”

Upon hearing the words of the head of the National Energy Agency, President Biden was instantly stunned. He widened his eyes and asked in disbelief:

”What is the Dragon Kingdom doing?”

”They released their energy reserves just to stabilize energy prices?”

”Are they not planning on surviving?”

”Once their energy reserves are exhausted, what they will be consuming then is their national strength!”

President Biden’s heart was filled with doubt and confusion; he did not understand why the Dragon Kingdom would make such a seemingly foolish decision.

Someone sneered, ”The Dragon Kingdom is truly foolish to think they can deal with the energy crisis in this way. Let’s see how long they can hold out.”

But President Biden waved his hand, his expression becoming serious, and said:

”The Dragon Kingdom is not as foolish as we imagine. We must investigate this clearly! I want to see what exactly they are up to.”

After many confrontations, President Biden realized that the Dragon Kingdom was definitely an opponent not to be underestimated!

Behind every one of their decisions, there might be deep-seated considerations.

At this moment, he realized that the Dragon Kingdom’s way of dealing with the energy crisis might not be as simple as it appeared on the surface!

This also caused a sense of unease to surge in his heart!

He decided to conduct an in-depth investigation to figure out the Dragon Kingdom’s true intentions and the strategy behind them, so that the Eagle Nation could make the correct response.

This task naturally fell onto the shoulders of the Secretary of State.

The Secretary of State also felt it was strange.

The Dragon Kingdom shouldn’t be foolish enough to bring out their energy reserves to deal with this crisis!

Moreover, according to their investigations, the Dragon Kingdom had indeed been hit by the energy crisis!

Could it be that the Dragon Kingdom wanted to just give up and gamble with their domestic energy reserves, betting that this energy could last until the energy crisis passed?

How could that be possible?

The Dragon Kingdom’s energy structure had always relied on imports in previous years, and their domestic energy reserves were simply insufficient!

They also hadn’t reserved a large amount of energy in advance like the Eagle Nation!

Based on the Dragon Kingdom’s level of reliance on energy, they would fall into a dilemma of energy shortage within six months at most!

However, perhaps due to multiple failed struggles, the Secretary of State also developed a trace of vigilance!

In his view, the Dragon Kingdom was by no means a simple opponent!

Being able to bring out energy reserves might not necessarily be a gamble; it was also possible they had some sort of reliance!

What kind of trick was the Dragon Kingdom up to now?

The Secretary of State speculated secretly, but after thinking for a long time, he couldn’t figure out what the Dragon Kingdom’s reliance was!

At this moment, he could only go to the CIA to check the situation.

He wanted to know if the CIA had any new intelligence!

However, he didn’t hold much hope!

Nowadays, he had developed great doubts about the intelligence-gathering capabilities of Smith, the CIA Director!

In his view, Smith would sooner or later be fired by him from the position of CIA Director!

The Dragon Kingdom’s technology had exploded, yet the CIA didn’t have a single bit of information!

This was a serious dereliction of duty.

It was just that this energy plan had consumed a large number of the CIA’s excellent agents, so he could not take action against Smith right now!

Otherwise, this department would really be finished!

At the very least, he had to wait until this department gradually recovered before he could take action against their Director!

At this time, CIA Director Smith did not yet know of the arrival of Secretary of State Jack!

He was staring at a stack of photos, lost in deep thought.

At this moment, a subordinate reported.

”Mr. Secretary of State is here!”

If it were before, this CIA Director would have been worried!

But at this moment, he actually wanted to see Secretary of State Jack!

After the Secretary of State entered the office, he casually found a seat and sat down.

Smith said somewhat excitedly:

”You have come at just the right time, Mr. Secretary of State!”

Secretary of State Jack frowned, ”What do you mean? Do you have something for me?”

”Of course!” Smith laughed:

”But before that, I would like to hear your thoughts on coming to our CIA this time!”

Secretary of State Jack crossed his legs and placed his hands across his thighs!

He glanced around and said very casually:

”Nothing much, just curious if your department has any latest news regarding the Dragon Kingdom?”

”Yes! Of course there is!”

”I feel that this news is quite important!”

Secretary of State Jack was somewhat surprised!

He didn’t expect that Smith had actually obtained the latest news!

And from his excited expression, it could be seen that this news seemed quite significant!

He had some expectations, but then worried that his expectations would be dashed; he was already very disappointed in Smith!

He didn’t want to have any expectations of him anymore!

Then he asked calmly, ”What news? Tell me.”

Smith was slightly taken aback; Secretary of State Jack’s calmness made him feel a bit unhappy!

Someone who didn’t know better would think that their intelligence agency was just full of useless people who only provided insignificant intelligence!

He cursed inwardly, then handed the latest intelligence he had obtained to Secretary of State Jack!

Secretary of State Jack took the documents and glanced at them casually!

And the next second, his expression stiffened. He uncrossed his legs, sat up straight, and began to read the intelligence document carefully!

While Secretary of State Jack was reading those documents, Smith also introduced them from the side.

”Our CIA also attaches great importance to this energy plan! After all, the cost of this plan is exceptionally heavy!”

”Therefore, I directly mobilized the 1,800 sleeper agents we have been secretly cultivating in the Dragon Kingdom!”

”They are distributed across various places and all levels of the Dragon Kingdom!”

”Finally, we summarized their intelligence and discovered...”

”The Dragon Kingdom’s secret!”

”They are actually engaging in massive infrastructure construction... building a power transmission network?!!!”
