Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 184 Old Zhao’s little scheme was thwarted by Old Qin!Not long ago, inside the Qin residence.

Qin Jianguo looked at the stubborn old man before him, feeling somewhat surprised.

”General Zhao Yong! You old geezer, why aren’t you staying in the South Sea? What are you doing running over to my place?”

The person was none other than General Zhao Yong!

At this moment, the old man, Elder Zhao, was sipping some fine tea and said with a chuckle:

”What’s the matter? We haven’t seen each other in so long, can’t a fellow veteran miss you and come over to sit for a while?!”

Elder Qin gave him a look of disdain and said:

”Miss me? Do you think I’d believe that load of nonsense?”

”Stop beating around the bush and just say what you have to say!”

Elder Zhao grinned!

In truth, he really did miss Elder Qin; after all, they were comrades who had once shared the same trench.

But at the same time, he really did have business.

Elder Zhao explained to him: ”The Aerospace Carrier is almost finished! I’ve come to report the good news to you!”

Elder Qin was somewhat surprised. The hand holding his teacup stopped abruptly, and he looked at General Zhao Yong in disbelief:

”So fast! I remember it wasn’t this fast when we were manufacturing the Space Mecha, right?”

Elder Zhao explained: ”Su Chen developed many tools during the previous manufacturing work!”

”It has significantly increased our country’s construction capabilities! Naturally, the speed is faster!”

So that was it... Elder Qin was deeply moved!

”Su Chen is truly a peerless talent of the nation!”

”I feel like he was sent by the Heavens to help us, seeing how our country has persisted in hardship for too long!”

Elder Zhao was slightly taken aback: ”You have this feeling too? Sometimes I think so, too!”

After chatting for a while, Elder Zhao returned to the main topic:

”Let’s talk business!”

Elder Qin took a sip of tea: ”Go ahead, I’m listening!”

Elder Zhao grinned and continued:

”Now that the Aerospace Carrier is about to be completed, do you think it belongs to the Air Force or the Navy?”

Elder Qin replied without hesitation: ”It must be the Air Force!”

”Does that even need asking?”

Elder Zhao’s mouth twitched uncontrollably.

Elder Qin realized what was happening then and looked at him with a smile:

”What? Can’t bear to let it go?”

Elder Zhao waved his hand, leaned back, and put on an indifferent expression:

”It’s all for our own country, what’s there to be reluctant about!”

”It’s just... well, look, the Aerospace Carrier has the word ’Carrier’ in it!”

”I don’t really care, but the guys under me will definitely have opinions!”

”They put in so much effort for the construction of the Aerospace Carrier, and in the end, it’s all making wedding clothes for the Air Force. Of course, like I said, I think it’s all for the country, I don’t mind.”

Elder Zhao reiterated once again.

Elder Qin’s lips were curling into a smile: ”Alright, alright, you old thing, don’t I know you?”

”You say you don’t care, but you’re more concerned about it than anyone else.”

Hearing this, Elder Zhao stopped pretending: ”Fine, then I won’t pretend anymore!”

”However, I didn’t come here just to insist that the Aerospace Carrier stay with the Navy; I have other business.”

Elder Qin gestured for him to continue.

Elder Zhao said:

”The Aerospace Carrier definitely cannot be limited to inside the planet in the future; it must head into space!”

”Plus, our Space Mecha have achieved mass production, so I propose we build a Space Fleet directly!”

As soon as these words were spoken, Elder Qin was instantly shocked.

A Space Fleet!!!

What a sci-fi term!

Elder Qin’s greatest hope in the past was to witness the rise of the Navy!

As long as the Navy could rise, he would feel very satisfied.

But now, he felt he might have the opportunity to witness the birth of a Space Fleet!

The blood in his veins couldn’t help but boil.

Elder Zhao noticed the excitement in his eyes and continued:

”Old Qin, honestly, how many years do we have left to live!”

”Don’t you want to see the magnificent sight of a Space Fleet lined up in space?”

”To tell you the truth, if I could see it just once in this lifetime, I would die content immediately!”

Elder Zhao appealed to reason and emotion, deeply versed in the art of persuasion:

”Furthermore, this isn’t a rash decision made on a whim.”

”Think about it, our Aerospace Carrier is about to be completed, we have carrier-based mecha, and that kid Su Chen is even preparing to equip the Aerospace Carrier with an Electromagnetic Naval Gun. With this configuration, building a Space Fleet isn’t too much to ask, right!”

”And once the Space Fleet is built, our country’s morale will definitely achieve an epic boost!”

”By then, how would foreign nations dare to invade our Dragon Kingdom?”

”I even want to broadcast our Space Fleet globally! Let those bastards see that our country also has a day where we can shock the universe!”

Elder Qin fell into deep thought. In his mind, a magnificent image of the Space Fleet soaring through the vast universe appeared.

It was an unprecedented shock, a magnificent sight that made one’s heart swell with passion.

He knew that this proposal was not just a dream, but a major decision that could change the fate of the nation.

Elder Qin was so moved by the blueprint of the Space Fleet described by Elder Zhao that his fingers were trembling slightly.

However, he still had doubts in his heart.

”It’s just that building a Space Fleet... it must require a lot of money...”

”In the last two years, various mecha, naval guns, and plans have emerged one after another, and the country has invested a huge amount of capital.”

”Although the Space Fleet would greatly boost our national morale, the point is, it’s not necessary!”

”With our current weapons, waging a global war wouldn’t be much of a problem!”

A hint of hesitation revealed itself in Elder Qin’s words.

But in the end, it was still a matter of funding!

Elder Zhao immediately retorted:

”Old Qin, are you confused?”

”Once the Space Fleet is built, why worry about funds?”

”Do you think the Space Fleet is a mascot! Just to be placed there for people to admire?”

”Do you know how many resources are available for us to extract in outer space?”

”It’s enough for our country to transform into a mining tycoon!”

”Even if we don’t mine, just growing food in outer space would be enough to make us filthy rich!”

A gleam of excitement flashed in Elder Zhao’s eyes, as if he had already seen the endless wealth that the Space Fleet would bring to the country.

Upon hearing this, Elder Qin was instantly energized, as if he had been injected with adrenaline:

”What did you say? We can even... grow food in outer space?”

His voice was filled with surprise and anticipation.

Elder Zhao said affirmatively:

”Of course!”

”There are so many planets in outer space, I don’t believe there isn’t one where we can grow food?”

”If we find just one planet where we can grow food, by then, let alone our country’s billion-plus people, even if that number increased a hundredfold, we could still support them!”

”And for the kids back home who are worrying about getting married and buying houses, we can build houses for them in outer space!”

”This measure alone is enough to resolve most domestic conflicts; it’s a magnificent feat that benefits the country and the people!”

”Old Qin, what are you still hesitating for?!”

Elder Zhao’s words were filled with lofty aspirations, completely igniting the passion in Elder Qin’s heart.

Elder Qin slammed the table, giving Elder Zhao a start.

Elder Qin decided immediately:

”Let’s do it! Damn it!”
