Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 200 - 195: Mysterious Woman
Chen Pingchuan’s hand slowly rested on the doorknob and gave it a gentle push. The door to the room opened without any resistance. This unexpected development stunned him, filling his mind with doubt. The door to the room holding the female prisoners—a cell door, really—was actually unlocked.

The slight creak of the door startled the woman huddled in the corner. Like a frightened fledgling, she curled her body tightly into a ball, as if only that cramped space could offer her a pathetic sense of security.

”Don’t be afraid, I’m not a bad person. You’re free now!”

Chen Pingchuan tried hard to make his tone sound relaxed, but his heart felt as if it were weighed down by a massive boulder, and each word he spoke felt incredibly heavy.

The woman in the corner slightly lifted her head, her gaze falling on Chen Pingchuan. The moment she saw his face, her eyes, once as lifeless as stagnant water, seemed to ripple as if a small stone had been tossed into them.

However, the spark of light vanished in an instant. She quickly lowered her head again, burying herself once more in the corner.

Chen Pingchuan was deeply surprised by the woman’s reaction. ”I said, I’m not a bad person. You’re saved.”

He raised his voice, trying to rouse the woman, but the only response he received was a deathly silence.

Helpless, Chen Pingchuan had no choice but to step toward her. As the distance between them shrank, the woman’s body began to tremble more violently, her entire body shaking uncontrollably like a frightened kitten.

Chen Pingchuan’s gaze swept over the damp floor, and rage flared in his heart.

If not for inhuman torture and abuse, how could a normal person have such an instinctive physiological response—losing control of their bowels?

He stopped his advance and quickly turned away.

As Chen Pingchuan opened one door after another, he found that each room held women just like the first. Their eyes were vacant and lifeless, utterly devoid of spirit. They were all huddled in corners, completely motionless.

Chen Pingchuan’s mood grew increasingly heavy. It wasn’t until he opened the very last door at the end of the hall that his expression finally changed.

The woman confined in this room was different from the others.

Judging by clothing alone, the other women were dressed in sexy, provocative outfits or uniforms with specific professional themes designed to arouse lust. This woman, however, was dressed simply and elegantly, entirely unlike the others’ downtrodden appearance.

Though she remained silent, she did not seem as despairing as the others and bore no marks of abuse. Most importantly, on the upper right side of her forehead was a bewitching violet mark.

It was a violet, just like his favorite kind of tea.

”Who are you?” Before Chen Pingchuan could speak, the woman broke the silence.

”Huh?”

He was startled. Of all the rooms he had opened, she was the first woman to speak. He couldn’t help but scrutinize her from head to toe, trying to find something different about her.

”Stop looking. I’m a woman cursed by a god.” she said. ”Tell me, who are you?”

The woman’s words made Chen Pingchuan tense up; he couldn’t grasp their meaning for a moment. But it didn’t matter. He hadn’t yet used the Identification skill his titanium dog eyes possessed. Now was the perfect opportunity.

”Identify!” The source of thɪs content is NoveI-Fire.ɴet

[Current Psychological State: Curious.]

[All Attributes: Awaiting development.]

”Holy shit, what is this?”

Chen Pingchuan’s previously heavy heart was abruptly shaken by the woman’s attributes.

Golden Glow!

It was actually Golden Glow! Remembering the system’s quirks, if he wasn’t mistaken, the two Golden Glow talents the simulator compensated him with while he was unconscious were Necromancer and Abyss Summoner.

What kind of powers were those? Possessing just one of them was enough for a person to carve out a kingdom and declare themselves king. That meant a talent of this tier had to have some crucial, hidden aspects beyond what the Identification skill revealed.

I want this woman...

Chen Pingchuan’s thought halted abruptly. He had initially considered claiming her for himself, but then he recalled her curse.

God’s Curse!

Underdeveloped brain... unstable personality...

Forget it, forget it. This kind of divine woman should be left for someone fated to have her. I probably can’t handle it.

With this thought, his intention to rescue the other women also vanished. He suddenly understood why this woman was confined here yet hadn’t been abused. Clearly, the leader of the Black Skull also recognized the mark on her forehead. This suggested that such a constitution had appeared in the world before, so there must have been records about it.

Chen Pingchuan turned to leave without another word. As for answering her question? He’d have to have a screw loose to even consider it.

As Chen Pingchuan left, the women in the other rooms turned their eyes toward the doorway.

This scenario of a stranger’s rescue had played out before. Jiang Fulong was an insidious and cruel man with peculiar tastes. He would send his men, disguised as heroes fighting for justice, to ”rescue” the miserable women trapped in this Demon Cave. Then, just when they believed they were truly saved, he would deliver a fatal blow, forcing them to experience the deepest despair at their moment of greatest happiness.

That was why these women remained unmoved by Chen Pingchuan’s act of salvation. On previous occasions, their ”rescued” sisters were tortured beyond recognition, their bodies and spirits utterly broken. There were even rumors that after their deaths, their bodies were used as fertilizer.

Jiang Fulong’s cruelty was chilling, effectively cowing the remaining female prisoners into submission. Perhaps only when they could no longer endure the hunger would they again try to leave this hellish prison.

The cursed woman’s eyebrows furrowed as she watched Chen Pingchuan’s receding back, murmuring softly, ”Why does the voice inside me say I would like being with him?”

「」

Chen Pingchuan walked out of the female prisoners’ quarters, letting out a huge sigh of relief.

The human swine punishment. For scum like him, that fate would be getting off easy.

With that thought, he continued on his way toward Jiang Fulong’s residence.
