Apocalyptic Wasteland Simulator

Chapter 198 - 193: Action Begins
”Hmph. It’s a pity your worthless husband is already dead. He should have seen you in this wretched state.”The woman’s expression froze at his words, a flicker of panic and pain crossing her eyes. It vanished in an instant, however, as she quickly resumed her facade of forced composure.

At this moment, Jiang Fulong was venting all the resentment and anger from his day onto the frail woman before him. The unprecedentedly vicious look on his face made her soul tremble. Yet, an intensely fawning expression immediately plastered itself onto her beautiful face.

She was well aware of Jiang Fulong’s twisted and secret fetishes. Before this demon, the more pure and dignified she acted, the more his perverse desire to conquer would burn, leading him to torment and torture her even more relentlessly.

If I can just act utterly base, as if I have no shame or dignity left, then maybe after his vile urges have been satisfied, I can get away with less physical abuse.

Her lips trembling slightly, she forced a coquettish and cloying tone into her voice. ”Master Long, I am the most despicable of all... Please, your benevolence is vast, just take this ruined flower of mine...” she continued, ”I beg you, come and teach me a lesson...”

Her words provoked Jiang Fulong’s rage even further, like a goaded beast. He shot his hand out, violently dragging her to the nearby table and pinning her down with his right hand.

A moment later, a heavy stillness fell over the room.

Having vented his frustrations, Jiang Fulong seemed completely drained of energy, and drowsiness washed over him like a tide. He clung to his last sliver of consciousness, a cold smile playing on his lips. He patted the woman’s shoulder and asked arrogantly, ”So? Am I impressive?”

The woman forced a smile, struggling to produce a flattering expression. Her voice trembled as she replied, ”You’re too impressive, Master Long. I can barely handle it.”

Jiang Fulong knew perfectly well she was lying. He was painfully aware of his own... shortcomings. Others might not know, but how could he not? Still, he loved forcing her to praise him like this. Such false flattery was intoxicating.

After a few more perfunctory words, Jiang Fulong fell into a deep sleep.

The woman watched the sleeping demon beside her, her eyes burning with hatred. Not long after the red rain began to fall, the deteriorating situation had forced her and her husband to leave the city. They had planned to escape to a neighboring province, but they were intercepted by Black Skull Soldiers along the way.

Not only were their car and all their supplies seized, but the two of them were also dragged back to the Black Skull Camp. What happened next was a recurring nightmare that haunted her sleep every night.

The demon Jiang Fulong coveted her beauty and wanted to possess her. She had wanted to end her own life rather than suffer such inhuman treatment. However, Jiang Fulong threatened her with her husband’s life. He promised that if she willingly gave him her body, he would spare them both and that once he’d had his fill, he would let them go.

She never imagined that her compromise would lead to a far worse outcome. The first news she received was of her husband’s death.

She swore a silent oath to avenge her husband. She would endure any humiliation, become the most debased creature imaginable, but she would not back down. Yet, the chance for revenge seemed impossibly distant. All she could do was wait, trapped in endless agony.

The woman didn’t try to assassinate Jiang Fulong in his sleep; she knew it would be futile. She clearly remembered another woman in her same predicament trying the same simple method, only to be stopped by his impenetrably tough hide. Not only did the attempt fail, but Jiang Fulong then gave the woman to his henchmen to be defiled.

What she didn’t know was that the opportunity she longed for was fast approaching.

In the shadows not far from the camp, Chen Pingchuan and his two companions lay motionless, practically one with the darkness. The only sound was their own faint breathing. Tonight, the stars above seemed shrouded by a thin veil, making them appear dim and lifeless. In this moonless otherworld, darkness was a tangible demon, its terror growing exponentially compared to the day.

Time flowed slowly, like viscous ink.

Finally, it was past midnight. A peculiar sensation surged from the depths of Chen Pingchuan’s soul; he knew his innate skill had refreshed.

”It’s time to move,” Chen Pingchuan whispered, his voice cold and bloodthirsty. ”Remember the plan. I kill, you two keep watch.”

”Understood, Boss!” Liu Haofeng responded instantly, his voice crisp and his eyes shining with absolute trust and obedience.

”Don’t worry, Boss. No problem,” Gelieza rumbled. His robust build appeared even more steadfast in the darkness, like an unshakeable mountain, providing a great sense of security.

The trio followed their previous route and slipped back into the Black Skull Camp. This time, the few patrolling guards who had been visible before were completely gone.

Chen Pingchuan decided against going to the female slaves’ quarters first. Whether he freed them or not, a group of women was bound to make a commotion. He also skipped the torture chamber, since there weren’t many guards stationed there. Excluding the Black Skull Boss’s residence, the soldiers’ barracks were the primary target. Besides, if he assassinated all the soldiers there, he wouldn’t have to worry about being overwhelmed by sheer numbers if a commotion was raised later.

Outside the soldiers’ barracks, two guards who should have been on watch were already sound asleep, completely unaware of the approaching danger.

Chen Pingchuan moved in a low crouch, his steps careful and silent. A sharp dagger, gleaming coldly, was gripped tightly in his hand.

WHOOSH…

The night wind moaned as it passed through a barracks window, like the lament of Death itself.

Amidst the faint sounds, one of the guards seemed to sense the cold killing intent in his sleep. His eyelids twitched violently as his consciousness began to struggle through the haze.

However, it was already too late. Before his eyes could fully open, a streak of cold light flashed across his neck like a shooting star.
