The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 359 - 218: The Secret of the Double Room
Chapter 359: Chapter 218: The Secret of the Double RoomInside the spacious office, only a dim, yellow light was lit. The arrangement of the room was extremely simple, featuring nothing more than a desk and chair and some empty glass cabinets. This resulted in the space containing only harsh lines, devoid of any soft beauty.

A man lay on the office desk, his hand raised and fingers extending, continuously circling around the yellowed light bulb.

”Click—click—” the ice maker in the corner of the room continuously produced ice cubes. Every few seconds, a square ice cube would fall into the storage bin of the ice machine, emitting a crisp sound.

”Da, da da da da, da...” Humming an unknown tune, the man’s gaze drifted aimlessly as he pondered.

That face was very familiar to Jiang Shu.

Clo.

He opened his wristwatch, and the simulated light screen projected onto the ceiling, while he took an interested note of the facial features on that face.

The face on the light screen was Jiang Shu.

At that moment, a call notification appeared in the corner of the projection on the ceiling.

It was from a man named Tang.

Clo yawned before answering the call.

”You’re back?” Tang’s voice came from the other side of the phone.

”Yeah,” Clo nodded, reaching for a square piece of white paper and began to fold it, replying casually as he did, ”No opportunity arose.”

”No opportunity?” Tang’s voice revealed little emotion. He didn’t contemplate further and merely reiterated his instructions, ”Within three days, find Diller Dick. Also, capture Jiang Shu and Liu Tingruo, dead or alive.”

”Alright, alright, I got it,” Clo responded listlessly.

”What are you planning to do?” Tang sounded puzzled, ”Do you need me...”

”No need.” Clo interrupted Tang abruptly, his tone slightly annoyed, ”Stay out of the psychiatric stuff.”

”Beep—”

The call had been hung up.

Tang looked at the ”Call Ended” display on his wristwatch and slightly frowned.

For some reason, he had a bad feeling, thinking that Clo might have slipped from his control.

But this current Clo, like other ”dead spirit” creatures, was a being he had summoned and should be under his control.

Perhaps it was because of the guy’s psychiatric traits.

Tang pondered for a moment without any conclusion.

So he had to use other means to keep an eye on Clo.

Although it would consume more energy, he didn’t mind at all. After all, this mentally peculiar man had genuinely defeated the armies of the Three Major Groups.

A little effort was entirely worth it.

The only thing that troubled him was that he utterly couldn’t comprehend Clo’s behavioral patterns. He had been secretly observing Clo through surveillance for a long time but still to no avail.

This made him question whether he could ensure Clo wouldn’t go out of control—if Clo lost control...

He could hardly imagine the consequences.

Meanwhile, Clo had finished folding the two origami projects in his hands, one resembled Jiang Shu in a business suit, the other Liu Tingruo in a white lab coat.

He still lay there, placing the paper figures beside his head, setting them up before turning his head to look at the two paper figures standing side by side. Suddenly, he blew them over, causing them to crash to the floor.

He suddenly felt bored.

Not wanting to do anything, he couldn’t be bothered with that Dick Tang.

Jiang Shu, Liu Tingruo.

These names were familiar, but he couldn’t recall much about them.

Dead spirit.

That’s how he now referred to himself.

Although he still had a body and could feel and move in this world, he knew he was a dead person, merely resurrected by some unknown method by Dick Tang.

He swayed his body, flipped over, rolling out of the scope of the office desk, and let himself fall to the floor, experiencing the real sensation of falling.

The pain felt very real.

This didn’t seem like some strange dream at all.

Clo looked at the two black tarot cards in his hand, one ”The Magician” and the other ”The Hanged Man”, closely observing the changing patterns on the tarot cards before casually tossing them aside.

He rose from the floor and walked into the bathroom.

The bathroom was decorated in the same extremely minimalist style as the office.

Only a shower, a toilet, a vanity, and a half-length mirror were present.

Clo then took a folded red plastic basin from a nearby cabinet, eagerly unfolding it. The basin was large, looking like a big bathtub when fully unfolded, enough to fit his entire body though his legs needed to rest over the edges of the basin.

He then ran back to the office, fetched the full basin of ice cubes, darting into the bathroom and dumped all the ice into the large plastic basin.

Clo bent down, submerging his head in the ice, experiencing the chill within.

For him, this was a novel experience.

He was now in a state of being half-cyborg, half-machine, still having blood and flesh. Even at his request, nearly his entire body was composed of flesh, but most of the sensory information was directly provided to his brain by various types of data collectors, not triggering the body’s protective mechanisms.
