Chapter 357 - 217: Upside Down Man Clo?! _2
Chapter 357: Chapter 217: Upside Down Man Clo?! _2Clo’s will mentioned that the organization seemed to be out of his control as early as during the war in Thirteen District.

Jiang Shu had been quite busy recently and hadn’t deliberately paid attention to the situation of Wildfire.

It’s just unknown whether the loss of Clo’s control over Wildfire was a good thing or a bad one. Although without Clo’s selfish motives and private usage, it intensified the characteristic of Rampant Growth.

However, he hadn’t seen any news related to Wildfire in the media since then.

Thinking about it now, this definitely wasn’t a good omen. Such a radical organization disappearing overnight was definitely not because they disbanded suddenly; it was certainly because they had become more organized.

The concealed reason must also involve more terrifying plans.

Another troublesome matter.

”Hmm, Clo, I remember you used to have a pretty good relationship with him, right?” Liu Tingruo suddenly slowed down the car, turning her head to look at the stunned Jiang Shu. Her sharp eyes seemed to pierce directly into his heart.

”Pretty good... Yeah, pretty good. He was a decent friend,” Jiang Shu scratched his head, pondered for a bit, and then continued, ”I went in to kill him.”

”Hmm?” Liu Tingruo was taken aback.

This is a good relationship?

Do you have some misunderstanding about the word ’friend’?

”But in the end, I didn’t kill him.” Jiang Shu shrugged, his face showing no sign of helplessness.

On one hand, he hadn’t harbored an absolute intent to kill; on the other hand, as a Player like Clo, who had countless lives and could escape time after time, it made sense that he could get away.

”Of course, the war in Thirteen District has nothing to do with me,” Jiang Shu added. Naturally, he wouldn’t take such matters upon himself.

”Hmm.” Liu Tingruo nodded, then stepped on the accelerator to speed up.

Since Jiang Shu said it like that, it naturally had nothing to do with him. That was good; she also feared that Jiang Shu might have been involved in that unjust war that ignored civilians.

Meanwhile, Jiang Shu found himself thinking about Clo once again.

This was already his second life; he remembered his first life too. But his first life and the vision he saw in the dream of Past Life and Present Life were slightly different.

Only one sentence was different.

”Thoughts can transcend time.”

It was precisely because of this difference that he persisted with his idea of going to prison—he had to verify something.

But Clo couldn’t provide an answer to this question.

In other words, the phrase ”Thoughts can transcend time” had nothing to do with Clo.

Although he had always believed that Clo, who possessed an infinite number of lives and could repeatedly clear levels, was in some sense the embodiment of the phrase ”Thoughts can transcend time.”

The words in Clo’s will answered some of his doubts while also raising more.

”Lots of pits dug,” Jiang Shu muttered under his breath, but suddenly, he felt his body involuntarily lurch forward.

Liu Tingruo had slammed on the brakes hard because the road ahead was blocked by a group of garishly dressed men.

There were about six or seven men, all wielding various weapons or prosthetics equipped with blades, exposing large tattoos on their bare arms.

These were some street thugs, Jiang Shu quickly judged internally.

In the Gun-Free Zone of District C, these thugs wouldn’t have access to any firearms. Essentially, they were disorganized and wreaked havoc aimlessly. Those with real power were mostly in DEF Zone, establishing underground forces and thriving amidst the chaos.

About five meters in front of Liu Tingruo’s car, several thick nails were deeply embedded into the ground, long enough to damage the car’s chassis, which was the reason for Liu Tingruo’s abrupt stop.

”Blocking the road?” Jiang Shu looked at the thugs wearing smug grins, puzzled.

”They’re probably trying to rob passersby amidst the chaos,” Liu Tingruo said, slightly frowning. ”They’re closing in.”

From the car’s side mirror, it was clear to see that several people had also blocked the way from behind, leaving Liu Tingruo unable to simply reverse and drive away.

”Should I step in?” Jiang Shu looked at Liu Tingruo and asked.

With his current abilities, he could easily handle these thugs. He was somewhat reluctant for Liu Tingruo to show herself.

By usual predictions, these thugs would definitely be astounded by Liu Tingruo’s looks, which could lead to some annoying incidents.

”Hmm?” Liu Tingruo just glanced at him weirdly and pulled out a square, one-piece handgun from the storage box between the driver and the passenger seat.

The gun’s barrel was rather large, but the overall look was full of futuristic technological sense.

”Eh? Are we using guns now?” Jiang Shu was taken aback. ”This is the city area, aren’t you worried about the gunfire...”

”’Silence’ Model 3, 9mm handgun, with a built-in silencer,” Liu Tingruo briefly explained the origin of the handgun. ”Besides, I’m not planning to kill them.”

”Oh,” Jiang Shu had no further objections.

At this moment, the third-ranked thug among the small hooligans awkwardly asked his leader, his bare torso revealing a not-so-robust body, ”Why are we blocking this car? It’s not even a sports car; how much can it possibly have?”
