Chapter 283 - 187 Clo Lights a Cigarette_3
Chapter 283: Chapter 187 Clo Lights a Cigarette_3”Come over, we need to search you. You can’t carry weapons into the pharmacy,” the guard at the door stopped him in his tracks.

”Hmm.” The man nodded. Having no choice, he handed over his gun and Single Soldier Armor, meanwhile explaining, ”It’s not very peaceful around here...”

”I know, I know, this isn’t a Gun-free Zone.” The guard impatiently placed his gun into a cabinet nearby, but when he saw the Single Soldier Armor for the right arm, he paused slightly, ”This is... Do people still use this? Where did you come from?”

”I kept it after I was discharged.” The man glanced at the guard clad in heavy bulletproof Armor, who was holding a massive gun he had never seen before.

This is...

What kind of gun is this?

With this caliber, isn’t it essentially a cannon? Why would guarding a place like this require a cannon?

A sense of doubt arose in the man’s mind, but he didn’t say anything more and simply walked into the factory. After passing through the towering stacks of containers and taking several detours, he once again stood before Joseph.

Joseph was the underling of the regional pharmaceutical manager, in other words, a minor boss in charge of selling drugs.

”You... I remember you, Mr. Kevin, right? You’re looking to buy the special drug for Tansi Syndrome,” Joseph had a good memory, and recall who the man was soon after seeing him. He immediately smiled, his small mustache twitching, ”Mr. Kevin must have collected enough money by now, right? If it’s a bit short, I can give you a ten percent discount.”

”Mr. Joseph, this is all I have,” Kevin’s face showed difficulty as he placed a stack of somewhat worn bills on the table. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Joseph’s expression change and quickly added, ”I can owe the rest; I’ll definitely pay you back once I get my salary next month.”

”You? How much can your salary possibly be?” Joseph’s fleshy face puffed with each word, and he waved his hand impatiently, ”If you don’t have the money, then leave. I’m not going to give you the drug.”

”My daughter has been in bed for two days now, she’s in pain every day... I’m begging you, I really can pay it back,” Kevin stepped forward, his face showing even greater appeal.

Bow down this low—he would have never even thought of doing such a thing before, but now, for the sake of his daughter, he was willing to do anything.

”Thump—” He suddenly knelt down, his voice trembling, ”Please, Mr. Joseph, I really need this medicine.”

”No, it’s not possible,” Joseph didn’t even bother with Kevin, shaking his hands in refusal, ”I can’t explain this to the higher-ups.”

He wouldn’t miss the opportunity to make more money just because someone was a third short and could potentially scrape together the drug money with a bit more effort.

”I understand,” Kevin nodded his head, standing up with his head lowered.

”If you understand, then leave quickly. It’s getting late to deal with someone who isn’t buying drugs—is just...” Joseph was frowning and shaking his head when he didn’t finish his sentence as he felt a severe pain in his throat.

In just a moment, Kevin had risen and grabbed Joseph’s throat, pinning him to the ground. He covered Joseph’s mouth, ”Don’t speak, don’t call for help. I’ll just take the medicine and leave, understand?”

Joseph could feel the immense strength in those hands, so he nodded to indicate he understood.

Kevin slowly let go of his grasp; he needed to quickly find the medication he needed and get out of there.

Then he stood up and walked towards the medicine cabinet in the office. The last time he was here, Joseph had taken out the drugs, and he had remembered where they were.

It should be here...

He pulled open the drawer and took out a set of medicine, squinting his eyes to carefully read the tiny letters.

As a former special forces soldier, he was well-educated, so he quickly recognized it as the medication he needed.

He turned around, hesitated for a moment, didn’t bother to pick up the money on the table, and left the office swiftly. After he closed the office door, Joseph didn’t hesitate to press the alarm button.

Bright lights flashed red inside the factory, and simultaneously, a squad of guards instantly spotted Kevin, shouting as they rushed towards him.

”It’s him!”

”He stole the medicine, stop him!”

The disorderly footsteps and the clinking of the guards’ gear resonated together, but Kevin didn’t need to look back to understand what had happened, so he headed straight for the factory’s main gate without hesitation.

If he could just break out, his daughter could be saved!

The short fifty-meter distance, he needed only seconds to cover it, and with this thought, he sprinted even harder, like a swift cheetah.

The guards behind him couldn’t catch up at all due to the large medicine boxes scattered throughout the factory, preventing them from shooting recklessly.

Even weapons like the Taser couldn’t hit the swiftly moving, agile man.

Soon, Kevin dashed past the main gate and didn’t hesitate to run towards a pre-planned alley, the mere twenty meters closing in an instant...

”Bang—” The guard behind him fired a shot; that massive gun, which had puzzled him, didn’t fire flames and bullets but a large net that instantly engulfed him with no chance to dodge.
