Chapter 257: Chapter 179 How can Ancient Magic not have a set of stylish Tang attire?_3”The filming time seems a bit long,” Jiang Shu said with a slight frown.

”Every great movie needs to be carefully crafted,” Li Yuntang wouldn’t compromise on this point, ”Moreover, you are the lead actor, you have a lot of scenes, and they are all crucial. Training your acting will take a significant amount of time.”

”Uh,” Jiang Shu said, scratching his head awkwardly.

He had indeed forgotten that not everyone could play the leading role.

Although Li Yuntang had praised his acting before, it didn’t mean he was up to such a challenging task.

After all...

The male protagonist of this script was very special.

”If it really doesn’t work out, we could find someone with sufficient acting skills to play the lead, and I could serve as his stand-in for the magic parts,” Jiang Shu suggested after some thought.

Having him act in the magic parts...

It shouldn’t affect the acquisition of the entries, should it?

”It’s best if you take on the role,” Li Yuntang also didn’t want to give in on this, ”Others will find it hard to convey the mysterious aura of a magician; only you can do it.”

She blinked as though she remembered something, ”Your inspiration should be the fox from the Deception Group, right?”

”Ah? Yeah,” Jiang Shu nodded without denying, ”The rationale behind the magic does indeed have a shadow of the fox.”

”Well... either you do it, or you find the fox to do it,” Li Yuntang said with a smile.

”How could I possibly find a fox, you’re joking,” Jiang Shu shrugged offhandedly.

”Perhaps...” Suddenly, Ye Zheng, who had been acting as if he were invisible from the start, spoke up. He had been writing and drawing on the light screen since the beginning and only now voiced his opinion, ”For a mid-sized film like this, as long as Mr. Jiang’s acting is up to par, three months should be enough to shoot the initial draft. The editing should be resolved within a month following that.”

”Is that so...” Li Yuntang contemplated, ”Then let’s settle on that for now, Ye Zheng and I can handle the casting. Since Mr. Jiang has requirements regarding the film’s shooting schedule, over this upcoming period, I will arrange a professional acting teacher for Mr. Jiang. I hope you can complete the professional acting training before the work officially starts.”

”Okay,” Jiang Shu nodded in agreement.

Director Ye Zheng and Li Yuntang were both people who acted decisively. In the following time, there wasn’t much opportunity to nitpick the details. After exchanging some opinions, they each took their leave.

This was, after all, a major matter, and more content needed to be discussed during the preparation phase.

And these things...

Could just as well be dealt with in a virtual projection meeting online.

This way, Jiang Shu could also leave the bothersome issues to the Tablet Spirits, as they were more professional.

Meanwhile, Jiang Shu gazed at the name lying in the contacts directory, lost in thought.

Ray Anderson.

This was the best acting teacher Li Yuntang had found for him from her own company.

Acting, huh...

What exactly is it?

He had looked decisive in making up his mind, but now an inexplicable sense of regret emerged in Jiang Shu’s heart.

However, the feeling of regret was quickly dismissed. This film was too important.

He was determined to succeed!

”Teacher, do we really have to fold so many of these in the middle of the night?” Su Xiaoou squinted her sleepy eyes, put down the paper she was folding, and yawned.

”Yes, the magic show is in just a couple of days, and if we don’t prepare the set now, we won’t be able to later,” Jiang Shu also put aside the large paperman he had folded and handed it to Alpha, Beta, and, Gamma, letting them add the eerie and creepy expressions to the papermans.

Already arranged neatly in three or four rows, the papermans filled the glass cabinet beside them.

Apart from the table lamps on the teacher and student’s desks, there were no other bright light sources in the entire room.

The bottom of the glass cabinet also shone with a faint yellow light, which cast uncertain shadows on the papermans’ faces from below, creating a classical spooky and horror sensation.

Jiang Shu turned his head to take a look; that cabinet placed there was indeed very netherworldly.

Alpha: Master, don’t you feel like the Magic House is becoming like a Netherworld shop? Do you know what a Netherworld shop is? It’s the kind where they sell paper goods for the dead.

Beta: Jiang Shu, do you have the feeling that someone is watching you?

Gamma: And it’s not just one person watching you.

Jiang Shu scanned the paperman lined up in the glass cabinet from top to bottom. Although he still wore no expression on his face, the Tablet Spirits could clearly feel that Jiang Shu’s face seemed a bit paler.

To tell the truth, he regretted it. He should have waited until morning to let the Tablet Spirits draw the faces on the paperman.

The craftwork of the Tablet Spirits was exceptional, and they were also deeply versed in elements of national horror style, which resulted in them bringing the final touches to life. Each finished product seemed eerily lifelike.

”Don’t talk nonsense,” Jiang Shu rebuked them without humor, glancing at the three, then he tidied up the scattered papers on the desk and turned to Su Xiaoou, ”Xiaoou, you can go back, that’s enough for today.”

The usually fearless Su Xiaoou also showed a hard-to-describe expression, it was somewhat fearful and seemed a bit awkward, she mumbled, ”Um... am I really going back alone now?”

”What... you want to go back as half a person?” Jiang Shu blinked.

”I’m a bit scared, can you come with me, teacher?” Su Xiaoou looked distressed.

Late at night.

Alone.

The pitch-black alley where you can’t see your hand in front of you.

When these three elements combined with the papermans in the glass cabinet, she couldn’t help but feel her journey home would be ominous.
