Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 737: The Competition (5)

Kent looked intently at the glass chamber and sighed. ’At this rate, people will think I am just showing off. However, they never knew all these trials were as simple as they could be to me.’

He had merely breezed through the first two, and standing before the third, he couldn’t help shaking his head.

His golden flame surged.

Inside the glass chamber, Kent’s golden flame slowly wrapped around the first flame crystal and calmly lifted it off the glassy floor. The lift was slow but fluid.

Of course, everyone became puzzled when Kent didn’t immediately wrap his flame around five crystals and lift them off the ground like those who came before him. If he had done that, he would have earned some cheers.

However, what he received were questions about whether he would be able to complete the third trial.

”I think we might have made an error in placing him among the top five geniuses. He couldn’t even lift five flame crystals at once. That is just disappointing.”

”I don’t think we should be quick to judge. Look at him, it wasn’t like he was struggling at all. If anything, we should watch him to the end to determine.”

”I hope he doesn’t wash out early.”

Kent wrapped his energy around the second crystal, just as he had with the first, and lifted it. Then, he approached the third.

’Of course, I could have gone for all ten crystals, but this is a lesson to the four that will be joining me to enter the Tower and the sect. I can help them with the Flame Tower, but when it comes to the sect, I know nothing of that...yet’

’However, I overheard someone say that the sect has a similar trial to this one. So those who have eyes would see that lifting all the stones at once is such a bad idea.’ Kent sighed as he lifted the third into the air.

’The moment the stone is lifted off the ground by six inches, the rune stops affecting it, making it return to its original weight. However, all of them lifted it up to four inches, which is just too short.’

’However, if they had lifted it one by one, perhaps one of them would have recognized this. But now that I am doing this, I hope they learn from it, for I may not be generous in the future.’

Kent smiled as he lifted the fourth crystal.

The fifth followed, then the sixth. At this point, everyone was starting to see a trend in Kent’s trial. However, while their questions wanted to come out, they could only watch as Kent lifted the seventh and eighth crystals.

Then, when it came to the ninth, Kent paused and looked at Madea and the top geniuses before wrapping his flame around both the ninth and tenth, lifting them off the glass floor simultaneously.

The moment the tenth crystal was in the air, cheers rang out as everyone cheered Kent on. It was as if their dream of having someone from the Half-Elf Kingdom join the sect had come true.

They all cheered for Kent as he held the crystal aloft, his handsome face beaming with a smile.

After a full minute, he lowered the crystals before taking a deep sigh. ’It is strange how I didn’t even feel anything... like I never even used my flame essence.’

Kent walked off the stage under the watchful gaze of every last contestant. They knew he had proven to everyone he was the best, and at the same time, also proved he was the right person to make the dreams of every Half-Elf come to pass.

A few of the contestants—of course, the ones yet to go—had expressions of defeat on their faces. The five geniuses had already demonstrated their strength, and now that Kent had, they all began to wonder if they had a chance.

But of course, they wouldn’t have to think much deeper into it since the next person was called. With no reason to step down, the rest tried their luck, and in the end, only ten passed.

The ranking showed that Kent was first, followed by Madea in second, Norion in third, and the list continued from there.

Those who washed out were given their gift and left with satisfied expressions on their faces. Of course, they would have loved to be part of the ten remaining, but in the end, they couldn’t meet the expectations to be among the top ten.

However, among the top ten, five would also have to wash out.

There are only five slots, so only five of them will be entering the Flame Tower. They knew this, so when Lord Yael appeared to announce the last trial that would determine the winners, everyone except Kent tensed.

”We are almost at the point where we will be finding out the top five to represent the Half-Elves in the Flame Tower opening. This means that five of you won’t be able to enter the tower.

But as you all heard, our Queen announced that three years from now, we will have fifteen slots, so don’t be heartbroken if you couldn’t make it into the Flame Tower this time around.

However, I have something else to add. Upon a few deliberations, we decided to make the last trial the same as the third trial.

This means you will have to lift the crystals again, and points will be awarded based on how many you manage to lift and how long they remain off the glassy floor.”

The moment Kent heard Lord Yael’s words, a smile appeared on his face. They were already warned not to exhaust their energies too much during the third round.

However, Kent knew most, if not all, of them had used more than they had now during the third round. This means they would struggle in the fourth round.

”Of course, since only five of you will be making it through, this means you can go all out. Even if you pass out, there won’t be another trial. But that said, don’t pass out...”

Lord Yael smiled at everyone before he moved away. On the board, the first person was called. Ember walked to the stage with a weak smile. She managed to enter the top ten, but she was already doubting her chances of being one of the top five.
