Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 730: Day Of The Competition

Just like that, a day has passed since Lovina cured the queen.

She managed to get down from her bed and walk on her own two feet. It was a little difficult at first, but she managed to carry herself slowly without anyone’s help.

Eventually, she could move. That was when she went to the palace to meet the elders. When the guards and maids saw her, they all became emotional.

Naturally, they all knew the reason why the Elves grew spines was because the Queen was hurt and couldn’t actively oppose them.

She wasn’t like her fellow Elves, who chose to suppress the half-elves. She actually wanted to help them, so despite being an Elf, she married a Half-Elf and was received with open arms.

Her battle prowess was something that won them over. So they loved her unconditionally. But aside from that, she was also someone who didn’t like to use her status to suppress anyone.

She had many qualities, but the main reason was that they all cherished her for her sacrifice, as she had taken the dagger meant for the King. That showed just how much she truly loved the Half Elves.

So when the guards, maids, and elders saw her, they all became emotional. Thankfully, she had the energy to stand on her own feet, as most of the maids surrounded her, just as they used to back in the day.

Of course, Princess Elowen was the most clingy of them all.

On the other hand, after Vexthra and Princess Lovina spent a few hours with Kent, they left for the dungeon. They would soon be climbing to the second floor.

(Grand Matron Arena - Elenara Kingdom)

Meanwhile, the day of the competition had arrived, and the Grand Matron Arena, one of the largest arenas in the kingdom, was filled to the brim.

Thousands of Half Elves came to watch the competition that would select five people to enter the Flame Tower in three weeks.

”Have you heard? A human will be participating in the competition. I don’t know why he was allowed, but I look forward to seeing how he fares against our geniuses,” someone in the audience said.

”I am looking forward to that too. I heard he is no pushover. He even dared to cut the limbs off those arrogant elves.”

”I heard that, too. It turns out the Elves are all bark but no bite. I expected them to come and attack him by now, but nothing happened.”

”What do you expect? It is the Elves... all they know is how to bully the weak.”

As more comments were exchanged, the registered contestants began to arrive. 1,204 people registered—or more like, they were the ones who qualified to participate.

As they appeared, their fans started cheering for them. Of course, there were a few who had no fans, but even so, having a chance to participate in this enterprise made them happy.

Most were experts in the Core Formation stage, with cores refined approximately five times. Those are the true geniuses, considering it takes most thousands of years to rise through the ranks to that stage.

A typical example is the human continent. Since their decline, only a few have managed to rise through the ranks. Humans lack the resources to cultivate like the Elves and Half-Elves do.

That was the sole reason the humans were lacking.

However, on other continents, some geniuses, such as the 1204 contestants, have already reached the Core formation stage and refined their cores while still being under 100 years old.

This was because they had resources at their disposal — resources that those on the human continent did not have.

Most also spent their time on the Ancient Battlefield of Parting, giving them access to many more resources and a wealth of combat experience.

”Look, that is Norion... He is so cool.”

”Norion is indeed cool. He has already refined his core five times, and I heard that he even killed a Peak Core Formation Flame Beast and inherited its flame.

There is no doubt he has already secured a place in the five.”

”That is true. Madea is also here. She has refined her core five times, and as a natural user of the flame element, this should be easy enough for her.”

”I say this year, Norion, Madea, Dorren, Ostorious, and Elia will make it into the Flame Tower. Perhaps, if there were more slots, the others would have had a chance...

But knowing their track record, I know with certainty they will get a slot and even enter the Supreme Immortal Sect.”

”I think so too...”

”Me too.”

”You guys are forgetting the human. We know nothing about him. What if he is some hidden genius? That would mean one of the five will have to drop.”

The moment one of them asked the most obvious question, the others became quiet. It was like they had it at the back of their minds, and now that it was asked, they started to wonder the same.

Kent was a mystery to them. They didn’t know anything about him aside from rumors circulating about him severing the limbs of four elves.

So his presence was like a wild card for everyone. However, one thing was sure: they wanted to see what humans could do. And now that Kent is representing the humans, they want to see what he can do.

”Look, it is Lord Yael... He will be officiating the competition,” someone shouted, pointing at the elder who was floating toward the stage.

At the same time, Kent walked toward the other contestants, drawing everyone’s gaze. However, the moment their gaze landed on him, everyone strangely became calm. It was like having Kent around was the right thing to do.

Looking at him made them feel a sense of protection... He was like a guardian angel. Naturally, Kent also felt the need to protect every last one of them, even those he knew had some darker secrets.

Being a guardian made him like a god, so he could spot the spies hidden among the thousands of Half Elves in the Arena. Of course, they posed no immediate threat, so he would let the king handle them later.

For now, he was just Kent, dressed in simple clothes, smiling as he walked toward everyone. When he got close, he received a nod from most of the contestants.

After he found a place and stood, Elder Yael started to address everyone.

”Good morning, everyone... The long-awaited competition is about to start. However, first, there are some important announcements and reveals to make,” Elder Yael smiled.
