Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 448: Never Bet Against Me

In this world, when a Pill Saint came asking to become his disciple, saying no was the last thing anyone wanted.

This offer was made to Elaine nineteen years ago, and she couldnʼt say no.

She wanted to strive and become an alchemist with the ultimate goal of helping her parents extend their craft to other stages. She wanted them to become versatile in healing those seeking their help.

She was very happy with that outcome.

So she left home, leaving her parents and traveling thousands of miles just to realize her dream.

This was what she wanted; however, when she started, her expectations were different from her desires.

Elaine was a quiet lady.

She is respectful, and even if you do her wrong, she will endure.

However, as she learned more about her master, she began to question whether she really wanted to train under him.

For years, she wondered about that until five years ago, when she made her decision known to her master. She told him she wasnʼt ready to experiment with the lives of others, so she was leaving.

She rejected the offer to use her life magic to harm others.

Life magic is rare; itʼs one that is meant to heal, not hurt. But if your master is the ambitious type who cares nothing for morales, you will be forced to take matters into your own hands.

She said what she had bottled up for years.

But to her horror, she found out that long before she made up her mind, her master had already taken drastic action. This was why she couldnʼt leave.

Leaving meant forfeiting the lives of her parents. The same parents who had taught her everything about life and magic were now the roadblock she just couldnʼt cross, regardless of how much she wanted to be free.

So she was forced to start using her life magic to hurt her fellow humans in the hope of making her master happy and releasing the grim scythe hanging above her parents.

But even after years of doing such demented acts, she was never able to achieve that.

So the quiet Elaine.

The pure and innocent Elaine is forced to continue living a bitter life. She didnʼt want to be the reason her parents died, despite knowing they would gladly lay down their lives if it meant her happiness.

Elaine was trapped with no chance of escape.

However, a few months ago, news spread that a certain brat accepted a challenge from one Saintess known to have a rather large mouth.

The battle ended in this bratʼs favor, and to everyoneʼs shock, he smiled in the face of all threats coming from the powerful background this Saintess possessed.

An entire sect couldnʼt make him release this Saintess.

This made Elaine become interested in knowing about him.

So she started following his stories. She could tell if she managed to make contact, this daring brat would rescue her.

She was ready to pay any price.

Everything changed when news spread of how this brat killed hundreds and forced a sovereign from the ruthless evil sect into hiding.

It was the most unbelievable thing, yet it was the truth.

It didnʼt take long for her to hear that this brat would be coming to the Pill Master competition. At that moment, Elaine formed the best plan to free herself.

She knew Kent was her way out.

So she started to scheme.

They say if the innocent endure the torture of the wicked for long, they will become the most ruthless schemers.

This made Elaine take on a new form, and for months, she made sure all forms of suspicion her master had of her were wiped away. She became the best disciple, making her master confide more in her.

So when she came up with the idea of challenging Kent, knowing her master was interested in him too, He was thrilled and even helped her form the perfect plan.

If only he knew this was all her plan: hiding behind Kent and, in doing so, making Kent her shield, which would also shield her parents.

It was a huge gamble, but she took it.

If Kent was able to take something from an entire sect, then her master was no threat. Still, he knew since it would be a bet, she wouldnʼt be able to go back on her words.

Meaning her parents will be safe if she loses the bet.

However, when she met Kent, her plan changed, and it wasnʼt hers anymore but the purple-haired bratʼs, who knew everything about her despite her not knowing anything about him.

Kent made contact with her even before she challenged her thanks to the universe. This shocked Elaine to the core.

And from the way he acted, it was like her fairy godmother had sent him to save her.

Back to Kent...

When Kent first saw the barefoot lady, a sound rang in his mind, indicating he had received a quest. He quickly checked it, and to his shock, the quest was for him to save the young lady and her parents.

Kent didnʼt ask much; he just followed the quest, knowing this was what the universe wanted.

This made him set the ruthless Sylara and the more human Saden on the mission. One was meant to kill, and the other was meant to take the two humans back to the tower.

The universe even gave him the location of Elaineʼs village, where her small home was, and who was keeping an eye on her parents.

Naturally, Kent could sense the universe was angry. This also strangely made him angry.

He knew the kingdom must lose one Pill Saint, for he had already marked Pill Saint Enex. He will soon die regardless of where he hid.

But before that, he must ensure everyone knew what a demented person he was.

So he gave everyone a good show, telling them he is indeed the Perfect Alchemist. But the moment that happens, it means Elaine is now his servant.

But this means the bait that Pill Saint Enex set wasnʼt able to catch any fish.

”Are you sure you want to take the disciple of a Pill Saint as your servant?” Pill Saint Enex spoke, making everyone quiet down.

”Itʼs a bet, and she lost. So, of course, she will be becoming my servant for the next ten years. I am sure she has integrity and wouldnʼt go against the stakes even if Sword King Shawn wasnʼt the one enforcing it.” Kent smiled.

”Never Bet Against Me” His smile turned into laughter.

”Disciple Elaine, are you sure you want to become his servant?” His question was simple, but to Elaine, the meaning was just too triggering.

She knew the question was about her parents, and as someone who loves them, she hesitated. She turned and looked at Kent.

Kent saw this and smiled.

”If you are worried about your parents, know that they are safe.” Kent chuckled and looked toward the VIP room.

”Your thugs keeping her parents hostage are dead. I made sure of that so Elaine is free.”

Gasp...

Everyone gasped, including Elaine.

Even the Pill Saints felt their spines tighten.
