Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 411: Who is Zaila {Gift Bonus - }

Zaila was just a lonely daughter of a hunter.

That was all.

She was lonely for the one she called father, and those she called uncles believed she was better suited to be raised at home and then sold off to some well-off family as a bride to some good-for-nothing young master.

Unfortunately for her, her mother died while giving birth to her.

Her best friend died, and for 15 years, she lived like a kitchen stool.

But as all bad things come to an end, her chance to escape arrived when her father died and her uncles went on the run after offending someone they shouldnʼt have.

This was her breakthrough moment, so she ran and never looked back.

But after running for an entire month, her food supply was running out, which called for immediate restocking.

However, she had never thought that far ahead when she ran.

So she chose to steal. This was the best way to keep going until she had run far enough.

However, that day, when she stole fruits from that old lady, her life changed forever. That old lady was a Peak Ascension stage expert trying to comprehend something profound, so she took the form of a mortal.

And when Zaila stole from her, she captured her, for she was able to help her greatly.

Most cultivators seemed to forget their roots the moment the years started passing by. So little moments like this were a thing of the past for most.

But that moment changed the cultivatorʼs life.

So instead of punishing her, she took her to a weapon store and asked her to pick a weapon of her choice.

She had never held a weapon before, but the moment her eyes landed on the spear, she knew it was the one she wanted.

Thus, her journey as a cultivator began at the age of 15. She spent five years with this cultivator until one day, the woman vanished—never to be heard from again.

By then, Zaila had grown to the stage where she could make ends meet.

She became a guard for merchants and took on various jobs just to buy cultivation resources, determined to keep growing in the hope that she would one day meet the mysterious cultivator who had helped her.

But after twelve years alone, she knew she would never meet her again. So, she chose to join a noble family as a guard and became the protector of a certain spoiled heir.

That was where Camilla came in.

On one fateful day, while escorting her young master on a shopping spree, she met the woman who would bring love and joy into her life.

Camilla was the mother she never had.

The big sister she so desperately craved.

The reminder of the mysterious cultivator who had once helped her.

Their meeting wasnʼt a friendly one, but their bond quickly deepened, and for years, she was truly happy. But all of that changed when the sect master came into the picture.

”Master Camilla was my idol, my mother, my big sister. She was my everything. So while locked down there, the only thing that kept me going every single day was the thought of her and the hope that I would see her again.

And now I have,” Zaila said, squeezing Kentʼs hand so hard it would have broken a few bones if he were still a Sage.

”And now that youʼve managed to see her again, how do you feel?” Kent asked, watching her expression shift to the calm demeanor of a serene officer.

”I am happy. Very happy,” she said with a smile. However, the look in her eyes told a different story.

”I am happy. But I canʼt seem to escape my nightmares.” Her tears started falling. ”I should be happy. I should be free. I should finally be reunited with my master.”

But I canʼt seem to escape that nightmare, and itʼs breaking my spirit.” Her sobbing filled the mountaintop as Kent gently rested her head on his chest and let her cry her tears out.

That much, she had the right to do.

So she spent a good hour pouring her heart out, soaking the caring dragonʼs chest. Not that he minded. After spending many nights with his ladies, he had learned how to care for women to some extent.

Right now, Zaila was vulnerable, so all he could do was offer her a shoulder to lean on.

Or, in this case, a chest to cry on. His ladies would be proud of him if they saw him at the moment caring for Zaila.

The lady sitting at the core of the universe most certainly was proud of him.

”Sorry about that,” Zaila said with a flustered expression when she finally recovered and noticed the mess she had made.

”No need for that. I chose to ask, so the least I can do is let you shed your tears.” Kent smiled.

”However, you donʼt have to worry too much about your nightmares. I have a way to help you, so just relax for now.”

”Really?” Zailaʼs eyes brightened as she moved closer to Kent and held his hand. They were closer than one might expect.

”Indeed. I have a way to help you, so for now, relax and enjoy this picnic while you tell me more about yourself.” Kent pulled her closer, letting her rest her head on his shoulder.

He picked a strawberry and slowly placed it in her mouth. This gesture caused her to blush.

”We can start with why you thought stealing was the best move to keep going while on the run.” Kent couldnʼt help but laugh, making Zaila blush even more.

She most definitely regretted pouring her heart out to him now. But the deed was already done, and as such, she could only blame herself.

So she just rested her head on his shoulder and let Kent tease her for two straight hours. By the time he was done, she had momentarily forgotten the traumatic experience she had suffered.

Kent noticed she was having fun, so he never stopped making her smile and laugh.

After hours on the mountaintop, night fell, and the stars appeared. Kent bought a flying boat from the tower shop and took her on a slow flight across the landscape.

It was a rather romantic evening for the two. When they had had enough of flying around, they returned to the mountain garden, where Zaila eventually fell asleep in Kentʼs arms.

In the end, he chose to stay with her, pushing back his night with Camilla—who was happy to hold herself back if it meant her disciple could enjoy herself.
