Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 439: First Round, Kent Antics

If it were up to Kent, he would just use the first round of pill making to end the contest. However, because he needed a challenger, he wouldnʼt do that.

The process has begun right now, and looking around, he can see that all 29 contestants have started concocting their pills.

Some have already finished extracting some ingredients.

The Bone-Hardening Pill is one of the most commonly used pills on the market. It requires only 7 ingredients to make.

Itʼs a good pill but easy to make.

However, there is one tricky bit that can affect the purity.

The seven herbs used are ordinary, meaning their essence is limited. Extracting more with loads of impurities will lower the purity of the pill.

However, you are almost done when you extract all the medicinal essence from it. So Kent was waiting to see how many people could do that.

However, he wasnʼt just sitting there.

He was using a flame technique called Cauldron Healing Flame Art to prepare the cauldron. This technique has only one use: to heat the cauldron and keep it at any temperature he wanted.

This way, instead of heating and reheating when he starts extracting the essence, it would take a quarter of the time.

Naturally, nobody, not even the Saints, recognizes his technique, so the ridicule on the faces of his haters started showing.

”I knew it. He is just good at memorizing things; the real alchemy is not for swordsmen,” one person said, looking ridiculously in Kentʼs direction.

”I know, right? He thought heating the cauldron for an hour would magically create the pill. What a brat.”

”The moment I saw him, I knew he was a fake.”

”I knew he was just making stuff up. I am even sure he cheated in the first three trials.”

”This brat is just shameless. Just look at him; he has no idea what was going on.”

”I knew he was a faker. Just look at how he is dressed. Just who dresses like that?”

”His only best qualities are his looks. Aside from his handsome looks, he is just ordinary.”

Just like that, the conversation shifted to people just being jealous of Kentʼs looks instead of his impeccable control of the flame.

A few recognized this, but they chose to be shameless. However, those being real started to notice that he wasnʼt just heating the cauldron.

They could tell he was heating it to a required temperature level.

”Just what technique is that?” Pill Saint Evilyn asked, looking closely at Kent.

”I also donʼt get why he is just sitting there and heating the cauldron. However, I notice something, and that has to do with the current state of his cauldron.

The heat level is when one starts extracting the essence from the pill. However, for some reason, despite him still heating it, the temperature isnʼt rising or falling.

This control, just who is this kid?”

Pill Saint Barton said, also looking in Kentʼs direction.

They are as lost as everyone else.

Forty-six minutes later, a pill smell and a smoky puff came from one direction. Kent turned and looked to his left, only to see Elaine open her cauldron and take out a brown pill.

”Wow, that looks like it has reached the 90% purity level. It might even be higher than that,” someone in the audience said.

”Lady Elaine isnʼt the top genius for no reason.”

Her admirers started singing her praises as she placed the pill in a pill bottle and relaxed in her seat. She subtly turns and looks in Kentʼs direction.

On his table, she could see he still has all three portions of the ingredients, meaning he hasnʼt started yet.

A small chuckle escaped her lips, making Kent smile in his head.

Five minutes later, Annabelle was also done. She had also retrieved a brown pill that looked like it had crossed the 90% purity level.

Just like Elaine, she also turned and looked at Kent with a ridiculous expression.

And an hour and a half later, all seven geniuses and a few others finished. Kent managed to get all he wanted, so he just sighed and chose to shock them but keep them guessing for a while.

He picked two ingredients and tossed them in the cauldron, causing everyone to gasp. But a second later, ridiculous smiles appeared on their faces.

However, a minute later, their ridiculous smiles vanished when he picked yet another two and tossed them in. This time, they paid attention, and that was when they saw he wasnʼt destroying the ingredients.

This caused them to pay more attention to him.

⟪Master, at this pace, your purity level will reduce greatly,⟫ Gaia said.

ʼThat is the plan, Gaia. I just want to be in the second rank and ensure the young lady feels threatened. This way, she will know she has a challenger, and this challenger is not simple.

I reckon she will challenge me after this round.ʼ

⟪I see. Then good luck. But I donʼt feel comfortable watching you lower your purity level.⟫

ʼMe too. It felt like I was going against my beliefs. But itʼs just this once because after I become Pill Grandmaster, I wouldnʼt play this silly game with anyone.ʼ

⟪Alright, master.⟫

Kent tossed the last ingredient in and extracted the essence. Then he started condensing the pill while burning impurities.

This also shocked the Saints. They knew the best way was to burn impurities and condense, but Kent was doing both at the same time, and he wasnʼt even struggling.

ʼShe had a 94% pure pill, and Annabelle was 92%. Since the appraisal will be done for everyone to see, I will just put mine at the 93% stage; however, I will make it look like I made a mistake, which was why I landed there.ʼ

A smile appeared on his face, making everyone start looking more at him. A few minutes into it, he reached his goal and used 30 more minutes to fully condense it.

However, just when he was about to pass the 93rd purity level, he sneezed, causing his flame to fluctuate. This shook the cauldron, and it cracked.

Kent quickly retrieved the pill before the cauldron broke completely.

Many laughed at him, but he just smirked inwardly and started waiting for the appraisal to determine who would progress to the next stage.
