Earth's Greatest Magus

The destroyer-type warship was manned with an average crew of 300 warriors, including around 30 magus realm combatants and a single grand magus realm commander. As two dozen figures emerged from the burning wreckage, it was clear that the rest of the crew had perished in the attack.

“YOU BASTARD!!?” Xavier roared, his voice echoing across the desert.

The two dozen mysterious magus hovered ominously in the air, the remnants of the warship smoldering behind them. With the golden barrier shattered, they seized the opportunity to press their assault, launching a barrage of spells aimed at the ground below.

Xavier, fueled by rage and grief, stood his ground. His three cosmos realms’ power surged, forming an impenetrable shield that absorbed the incoming spells. The air crackled with the intensity of the magical clash, creating an electrifying spectacle.

His eyes blazing with fury, Xavier hurled his spear imbued with a thunderous golden bolt. The weapon flew with such force and precision that it pierced through one of the enemy grand magus, killing him instantly. The lightning sparks that followed the spear strike spread out in a deadly web, incinerating most of the remaining attackers. Only the two remaining grand magus, wounded and desperate, managed to flee toward the orbit.

“You are not going anywhere!” Xavier’s voice was a roar of determination.

Xavier exploded into action, his form blurring into a streak of lightning as he chased after the two fleeing grand magus. All eyes on the ground followed his movements in awe. Within moments, Xavier had caught up to the second grand magus, splitting his body in half with a single, decisive strike. The final assailant was swiftly captured, restrained by a lightning chain, and hurled back to the ground like a piece of discarded refuse.

“NOW SPEAK!! Who are you!?” Xavier’s voice boomed, resonating with authority and fury.

As the captive writhed on the ground, bound by crackling lightning, one of the grand magus spirit masters, Nayef, stepped forward, a third eye open on his forehead, preparing to probe the captive’s mind. However, Tessa intervened, providing information. She recognized the man as one of the pirates, a detail Emery had shared.

Commander Schanble, a veteran warrior, looked puzzled. “I know every grand magus-level pirate in the quadrant. He is not one of them.”

“No, he came from the Neutral Zone.” She paused, then provided a name.

The mention of the Neutral Zone sent a ripple of shock through the crowd. Hearing his name being called, stirred a noticeable reaction from the captive, making it easier for the spirit master to delve into his mind and confirm the information. This revelation led to restlessness among the Grand Magus elders. The idea that pirates and criminals from another region dared to attack them hinted at a much larger, hidden agenda.

The spirit master, Nayef now fully immersed in the captive’s mind, began to uncover the disturbing truth. There was indeed a gathering of pirates, a large force under the banner of the Pirate King, Gaira D Reis. Their mission was to sow chaos, hoping to provoke a battle between the Karat brothers.

Hassa’s face grew pale with realization. “They wanted us to destroy each other,” he muttered.

“My Lord, now that their plan has failed, it seems their forces are coming here. They wish to wipe out the Karat faction entirely!” said the spirit master.

“Those bastards!” another elder exclaimed, his fists clenched in fury.

The news was a shock to all present, causing a ripple of unease and outrage. However, amidst the chaos, a significant exchange of glances occurred between the two brothers. Xavier, his voice firm and resolute, spoke first. “Brother, let’s stop our fight until we deal with these rats.”

Hassa, equally determined, nodded in agreement. Giving his trust, Hassa allowed Xavier to lead the 600-strong magus force into orbit and took command of the space station. Their mission was to clear the chaotic space battles and prepare for the impending pirate assault. To ensure effective communication and coordination, Hassa’s most trusted man, Kashid, accompanied Xavier’s group, along with three other capable magus.

The West Guardian, initially reluctant to leave Hassa’s side out of concern for his lord’s safety, was reassured by Hassa’s calm confidence. “No, Isaiah is more than enough to keep me safe”

As Xavier led the sizable Karat force into space, Hassa decisively dispatched the remaining grand magus elders to the outpost guarding the portal. This strategic move was crucial to securing their stronghold and maintaining control over key positions. Left behind were Isaiah, the spirit master, and a small contingent of Hassa’s personal guards, which included Emery and Tessa. Grand Magus Isaiah, filled with remorse for failing to anticipate the pirate attack, knelt once more before Hassa, pledging his utmost dedication to rectify the situation.

“Yes, you will… Let’s head back!” Hassa commanded decisively.

They swiftly flew the hundred-mile return journey to the highly secured golden mansion, where Hassa wasted no time in making his way to the command center. It was the nerve center of their defense structure, housing all the vital machines and communication systems.

The experts responsible for monitoring and controlling these systems greeted Hassa with urgency. They explained that a malicious virus had infiltrated their networks, initiating a program that locked down all communication access and even activated drones to attack their own warships.

“Stop it immediately!” “We are trying, my Lord, but we need time… give us an hour!” one of the experts replied, his fingers flying over the controls as he worked to stop the virus.

In moments of crisis, Emery stepped forward, offering his assistance despite the skepticism of the experts. They cautioned him against meddling with the intricate machinery, citing the risk of exacerbating the damage.

Undeterred, Emery disregarded their warnings and placed his hand on one of the crystal interfaces. Through VIA, he began analyzing the problem.

“The virus is an artificial being. Give me ten minutes, and I could stop it!” Emery declared, surprising everyone with his bold assertion.

Lord Hassa, nodded his approval. He allowed Emery to proceed, letting VIA handle the job.

True to his word, after a nerve-wracking wait, the experts erupted in jubilation. “You really did it… we’ve gained access to the system again!” they exclaimed, relief evident in their voices.

With control restored, the experts swiftly took command of the defensive drones. Simultaneously, they scanned the long-range sensors, only to make a startling discovery: a large pirate force was already at their doorstep, ready for battle.
