Earth's Greatest Magus

Emery arrived at the secret chamber in the basement of Terra Castle, where Magus Yuria, greeted him with a mixture of relief and urgency. She wasted no time in updating him on the escalating situation.

“They’re still up there, demanding to see you, the faction leader,”

She explained that the Nephilim emissary had arrived with a formidable entourage—a force consisting of two hundred saint-level warriors, a dozen magus, and three grand magus. Their demands were unreasonable, and tensions were running high. Magus Rosia and Grand Magus Fantasme of the Silvermane wolf faction were currently attempting to manage the situation, but the emissary’s obstinance threatened to escalate into conflict.

Emery absorbed the gravity of the situation quickly. Utilizing his [Shapeshifting] ability, Emery swiftly disguised himself, ensuring that his true identity remained concealed. While revealing himself as the leader of Terra’s faction would simplify the negotiations, to suddenly arrived in Terra city after a recent encounter with Ishtar at the academy just 12 hours ago would raise problematic questions. “Let’s go,” Emery arrived outside the grand hall of Terra City, where a tense standoff was unfolding between the Terra forces and the Nephilim emissary’s entourage. Magus Rosia stood resolutely at the forefront, her presence a formidable barrier against the Nephilim’s demands.

Surrounding her were dozens of Terra City guards, bolstered by two dozen magus—a mix of Terra City’s Magus forces, wolf half-bloods from Twilight Hall, and recent Magus arrivals from the subterranean world. Queen Soonhee of the Alvanic Kingdom stood alongside them.

The emissary, a blond-haired man in a shining blazer, voiced his impatience loudly. “We have waited here for hours! We demand your answer!” His tone brooked no further delay, the threat of force underlying his words.

“As I said before,” Magus Rosia responded firmly, her voice unwavering despite the tension thick in the air, “our leader is currently not available. We must thoroughly consider your claim. You are welcome to leave and return later for our response.”

The emissary retorted sharply, “If we do not receive a satisfactory answer soon, we will take matters into our own hands. We will not hesitate to remove you all out of our Nephilim property!”

Emery chose not to intervene immediately. Instead, he reached out telepathically to Magus Rosia, instructing her to stall for time while he assessed the situation. Using VIA’s capabilities, Emery swiftly analyzed each of the grand magus and magus aligned with the Nephilim emissary’s entourage. Most were indeed affiliated with the Astiel, one of the prominent Nephilim families linked to Grand Magus Ishtar. However, to Emery’s surprise, a few individuals bore affiliations with Golden City’s Croft family—a revelation that added another layer of complexity to the unfolding trouble.

Observing the courtyard where tensions simmered, Emery noted the conspicuous absence of the third grand magus among the Nephilim contingent. “Why are there only two grand magus present?” he asked Yuria, “Where is the third?”

“The third grand magus is stationed at the teleportation gate,” she explained, “They have brought officials from the Magus Alliance with them. They are blocking the arrival of sister Cellia and the allies from Zodiac City.”

Emery nodded thoughtfully, absorbing the strategic implications of the situation. The presence of the Magus Alliance officials indicated a coordinated effort by the Nephilim to assert their influence over Terra City through both political maneuvering and military posturing. It was a calculated move aimed at overwhelming Terra’s defenses and imposing their will through sheer force if necessary.

After confirming that all three grand magus were only in one cosmos realm, Emery felt prepared to confront the escalating situation. With a subtle signal, Magus Rosia conveyed a firm message to the Nephilim emissary and his cohorts.

“I will bring this matter to the Magus Alliance court. If you dare to take a step further, we will retaliate in kind,” she declared, her voice carrying the weight of authority and resolve.

The blond-haired emissary’s face contorted with anger at Rosia’s defiance. “Huh! A grade one faction dares to speak big,” he sneered, turning to Grand Magus Fantasme with disdain. “You think these filthy half-bloods could help you… you are mistaken.” With a gesture, he ordered, “Teach these people to learn their place!”

Both Nephilim grand magus tensed, ready to charge forward, when suddenly a deafening shriek echoed from the nearby mountain. A powerful aura surged into the sky, accompanied by the unfolding of immense golden wings.

“It’s… an Ancient desolate beast!!!” someone exclaimed, their voice a mixture of awe and alarm.

The atmosphere shifted instantly as everyone, Nephilim and Terra alike, turned their attention to the majestic creature descending from the sky. The King Roc, legendary in its size and power, dominated the sky with its imposing presence, casting shadows over the tumultuous scene below. After seizing everyone’s attention, the colossal King Roc descended from the skies and landed gracefully next to the Terra faction. On its back was a man whose presence exuded a powerful full moon aura, unmistakably Emery in disguise. The grand magus of the Nephilim faction exchanged uneasy glances upon witnessing such a display. The sight of a magus capable of commanding such a powerful creature stirred both awe and apprehension among them. Added to the formidable female wolf grand magus, they came to the realization that they might have underestimated the strength and resources of their adversaries.

“Where did this beast come from?… so suddenly… are they still hiding more forces?” the blond-haired emissary muttered, his voice betraying a hint of uncertainty.

As the tension reached its peak, Magus Rosia’s commanding voice cut through the air, her ultimatum echoing over the tumultuous scene. “I give you all 10 seconds to leave our city!!” Her words hung in the air, a stark warning laden with determination.

“10!… 9… 8…” Before the count concluded, Emery issued a silent command to King Roc, unleashing its devastating killer move—a piercing shriek that reverberated through the air. The sound attack struck with precision, targeting the Nephilim forces and throwing them into disarray.

Witnessing the chaos unfold within their ranks, the blond-haired emissary made a swift decision. Recognizing the danger and sensing the strategic disadvantage, he barked orders for retreat. The Nephilim forces, scrambled toward the nearest portal, their departure marked by panic and urgency.

Amidst the confusion, Emery seized the opportunity to execute a covert maneuver. Concealed within the chaos, he orchestrated the abduction of one of the Croft family magus. It was a strategic move aimed at gaining critical intelligence that could unravel the mysteries surrounding Golden City’s involvement and the motives driving the Nephilim’s aggressive actions.

“Now let’s see what they are planning,”
