Earth's Greatest Magus

The sky above was filled with dark, thunderous clouds, collapsing with immense cosmic energy. Emery swiftly summoned a protective barrier around himself, the [Aegis of Void], to shield himself against the combined assault of the spectral souls and the cosmic energy that raining down on him.

Simultaneously, Emery stretched his divine senses, desperately searching for a way to escape. The chaotic energy within the aperture made it nearly impossible to pinpoint a clear path, and the spectral souls swirled around him like a malevolent storm.

His tier 5 space barrier strained under the relentless battering of the two forces, cracks forming as it held for precious seconds. Realizing he couldn’t rely on the barrier for long, Emery swiftly unleashed his tier 5 spell, [Light Soaring Wing]. This powerful combination of light and wind enveloped him, the ethereal wings sprouting from his back propelling him with incredible speed. Emery soared away. Yet, the voices of the vengeful souls echoed in his mind, a cacophony of rage and despair.

With only seconds before the entire domain blew apart, Emery faced a critical decision: penetrate through the collapsing cosmic cloud above or dive down, breaking through the thousands of spectral souls. While flying up seemed like the wiser choice initially, VIA’s extreme warnings made him reconsider. His divine sense detected an alternative—the sealed room under the lake, which might offer the extra protection he needed from the impending blast.

Emery swiftly dived down, his wings propelling him with breakneck speed. The collapsing sky and spectral souls chased him relentlessly, their malevolent energy crackling around him like a storm.

BAMMMM!!!

A deafening explosion echoed through the air, a concussive wave of cosmic energy and spectral fury crashing down behind him just as he broke through the deep bottom of the lake and entered an ominous dark chamber.

With his high comprehension of the law of space, Emery quickly recognized that this chamber was an artificial space, meticulously created through intricate formations. Its existence provided a temporary haven from the catastrophe outside, buying him a little precious time.

As he scanned the room, Emery’s eyes widened at the sight of hundreds of magus bodies stored like grim trophies on the walls, each encased in a magical stasis field.

He quickly realized that this chamber lies Mo Yan’s collection of enslaved magus. The sinister nature of this place became even more evident as some of the vengeful souls began to enter their bodies, and they awakened ready to fight him.

Before Emery could react, the formations within the room began to glow ominously. A creeping dread filled him as he recognized the sensation of a foreign presence invading his mind. A familiar, malevolent voice echoed in his thoughts.

It was Mo Yan’s voice, laden with a triumphant malice. The realization hit Emery like a bolt of lightning—the fact that Mo Yan could project his voice into Emery’s mind meant that his soul was regaining strength.

The ominous glow of the runes inside the vault confirmed Emery’s worst fears—he had fallen into Mo Yan’s trap. Multiple spectral souls, now emboldened by the dark magic of the chamber, surged forward, their ghostly hands grasping and restraining him. Some of the spirits even forced their way into his body, launching a direct assault on his soul.

Amidst the chaos, Emery began to piece together the situation. He had underestimated Mo Yan’s cunning. As a slave master who had collected and manipulated human souls for centuries, Mo Yan had undoubtedly prepared for the eventuality of his own capture. This vault was not just a treasure trove but a deadly trap designed to turn the tables on any would-be captor.

A triumphant, disembodied voice echoed through his mind, dripping with pride.

Despite the dire circumstances, Emery remained calm. With a steady voice, he responded, “Unfortunately for you, this time I am also not alone.”

Emery whispers a name “Chutulu!”

The Khaos guardian spirit materialized behind Emery, shattering the spectral restraints with a powerful surge of battle power. The sheer might of Chutulu, combined with the raw force of Khaos, created a formidable presence that Mo Yan had never encountered before.

Mo Yan’s voice roared.

Emery found himself drawn into a two-front battle. On the physical plane against a horde of spectral souls and magus puppets. Simultaneously, Emery was forced into a soul battle within the spirit realm.

Mo Yan’s dark pagoda loomed ominously behind him, its broken third story now reconstructed with the energy of the spectral spirits. This formidable structure pulsed with dark energy, a testament to Mo Yan’s immense soul strength.

Emery, however, found himself at a disadvantage. With the power of Khaos activated, he was unable to utilize his [Prism of Light] spell, a critical component to match Mo Yan’s powerfull spirit attack.

The battle seemed evenly matched, but unfortunately, Emery was on the losing side. His soul palace, a crucial stronghold within his spirit realm, started to crack under Mo Yan’s relentless spirit attacks. Meanwhile, in the physical plane, Emery fought with all his might, both arms equipped with swords as he hacked and slashed everything within his flying path. His movements were a blur of desperate energy, every swing and thrust aimed at surviving the onslaught of spectral souls and magus puppets.

The vault itself started to shake heavily, more cracks appeared along the rune formations, and the walls began to crumble, sending debris cascading around Emery. The entire structure groaned and trembled, threatening to collapse at any moment.

Despite the mounting disadvantages, Emery’s resolve remained unbroken. He fought with great persistence, refusing to succumb to the growing sense of despair. His every move was calculated, his determination unwavering. Unfortunatly Mo Yan’s spectral form, glowing with a sinister light, continued its assault on his soul with unyielding ferocity. Each attack seemed to be more powerful than the last, and Mo Yan took sadistic pleasure in the process, savoring every moment of his revenge.

Suddenly, to their both surprise, one soul forcefully entered the spirit realm. Its bluish glow coalesced into the form of a small azure dragon that struck its ethereal body toward Mo Yan.

“You! You dare to attack your master!!!” Mo Yan’s voice boomed with rage.

A familiar voice echoed in Emery’s mind. He recognized the energy signature immediately—it was Shen Long, the azure dragon who had been enslaved by Mo Yan.
