Earth's Greatest Magus

”There are 3 Desolate Beasts!”

Beatrice’s panicked voice echoed through the tense atmosphere. Using her spirit senses, she detected the imminent threat of multiple Desolate Beasts leading a formidable beast tide.

A beast tide, a phenomenon where numerous beast creatures congregated and moved in unison, was a dreaded occurrence. This time, over 300 beasts surged forward, among them three dozen mythical creatures, led by three formidable desolate beasts—all of them Lizard-types common to the Dark Marshes.

Despite their intimidating presence, encountering such a horde was relatively commonplace on this savage level 7 planet. However, their timing, coupled with the increasing number of phantom creatures, made the situation dire.

“They are 400 miles away and closing, what should we do?” Beatrice’s inquiry, tinged with tension, echoed the apprehension shared by the old formation master.

Emery maintained his composure amidst the escalating tension, calmly addressing Tobin, “Senior, my light spells are effective against these phantoms. You can leave this to me.

“Alright, I’ll finish them quickly,” Tobin responded with a confident smile before initiating his bloodline transformation. As the middle-aged man activated his innate ability, his body underwent a remarkable change. The sound of bones cracking filled the air as silvery bones emerged, ribcage, skull, all covering his entire physique like armor. This transformation was Tobin’s rank 6 bloodline [Silver Bone Turtle]. innate ability.

With a swift motion, Tobin cracked two of his rib bones and hurled them into the ground. He started to chant,, and slowly the bones grew into two identical silver bones figures, invoking Tobin’s innate skill [Bone Clones]. Each clone possessed formidable Crescent Moon realm power. Together, the trio of Tobin and his bone clones dashed towards the approaching beast tide, effectively halting their advance.

To fill the void left by Magus Tobin’s departure, Emery signaled to Twik, the humanoid plant creature.

“Ku.. ku!”

Twik positioned himself behind Emery, and together they placed their hands on the ground. As they channeled their energies, a profusion of roots sprouted forth, weaving a dense network that enveloped the area around the first and second layers of the barrier.

As their concentration deepened, tendrils of energy began to emerge, snaking their way through the soil. With a surge of vitality, the roots rapidly expanded, intertwining and weaving into a complex lattice that enveloped the vicinity surrounding the protective barrier. The network of roots formed a natural barricade, reinforcing the existing defenses and creating an additional layer of protection.

Despite the apparent strength of the barrier, the old formation master voiced his skepticism. “Huh! What can those plant roots do? They are not stronger than my barrier!” His doubt lingered in the air.

As soon as the formation master finished his words, he was astounded to witness the roots beginning to glow, gradually sprouting leaves and eventually blossoming into multiple golden buds. Within moments, the buds unfurled their glowing white petals, releasing a torrent of luminescent pollen. To the formation master’s shock, he realized that the pollen was lethally toxic to the phantom creatures.

“What spell is this?!” the formation master exclaimed, his disbelief evident.

[Tier 5 – Elysian Flora].

This new spell was a modified version of Emery’s existing [Primal Flora]spell, but with a crucial modification—replacing darkness with light to create a plant imbued with radiant energy. This alteration rendered the flora particularly effective against darkness-based entities, such as the phantom creatures they now faced.

The surrounding phantom creatures were swiftly enveloped by the radiant blooms, crumbling to ashes upon contact. As for his decision to enlist Twik’s assistance, it was for his buddy to assume control of the luminous plant life, allowing him to focus on other pressing matters.

Emery’s vigilance remained unwavering as he meticulously surveyed the unfolding events, his spirit reading attuned to the slightest disturbances in the vicinity. Aware that the cosmic tribulation was sure to attract the attention of other magus, Emery remained steadfast in ensuring their uninterrupted ascension.

His gaze shifted towards Magus Tobin, who valiantly battled the trio of desolate beasts simultaneously. Tobin displayed a powerful strength that commanded respect. His proficiency of the turtle bloodline marked him as one of the most powerful full moon magus Emery had encountered, a fitting representative of the esteemed position he held as one of the 12 flag bearers of the Zodiac faction.

Despite Tobin’s valiant efforts, the sheer number of adversaries proved overwhelming. While he grappled with the three desolate beasts, a portion of the Lizard beasts managed to breach their defenses. Emery, demonstrating his own combat prowess, swiftly dispatched the incoming mythical beasts with practiced efficiency, ensuring that none posed a threat to their ongoing ascension.

Half an hour passed, and the ominous cloud above began to transform once more, swirling with increasing intensity as if heralding an impending storm. The lightning bolts crackled with heightened ferocity, casting an eerie glow across the darkened sky.

The old formation master’s panic escalated as he realized the seriousness of the situation. “This level… this is a grand tribulation!” he exclaimed, his voice trembling with fear.

Amidst Magus Heorgar’s agonized screams, the onslaught of phantom creatures intensified, their numbers swelling as they evolved into larger and more menacing forms.

Yet, amidst the chaos, Emery’s attention was drawn to a sudden rush of energy emanating from below. Aviolent earthquake ruptured the earth’s surface, causing a massive section of the terrain, located ten miles distant, to crumble into a vast chasm, revealing the hidden abyss beneath.

As the cosmic energy surged, it seemed to stir a dormant presence, awakening a life form from the deepest recesses of the earth.

From the murky abyss of the swamp emerged a colossal behemoth, towering over its surroundings. It resembled the other Lizards but dwarfed them in size, indicating its status as a ten-thousand-year Mythical beast—an Ancient Desolate Beast. It was a powerful adversary, possessing the strength of a peak magus, just one step away from ascending to the grand magus level.

The old formation master’s complexion drained of color as he uttered words of despair, “We are fuxxx!”
